Okay, then, at the opening gathering of dwarves and Gandalf at Bilbo's hole, what is Gandalf offered to drink, and what does he ask for instead?
Nerdanel
07-11-2004, 03:45 PM
He's offered tea and asks for wine? (I haven't got a clue)
Count Comfect
07-11-2004, 04:20 PM

the dwarves and Bilbo tried to haunt an animal, and succeeded, in the forest they travelled through. (what's it's name in English? mirkwood? )
anyway: what animal was it?
Radagast The Brown
07-22-2004, 06:38 PM
Yes, Mirkwood. Was it a deer?
Nerdanel
07-22-2004, 06:46 PM
that's not the animal i thought about.. they did try to shoot deer, but did they succeed? i don't remember.
anyway, it's another animal i thought of. :) but you might be right, i'm not sure.
Radagast The Brown
07-22-2004, 06:51 PM

Radagast The Brown
07-23-2004, 06:11 PM
How did Bilbo's hand-write looked like?
Count Comfect
07-23-2004, 06:12 PM
Was his handwritting spidery?
Radagast The Brown
07-23-2004, 06:14 PM
Yes. :p Your turn CC.
Count Comfect
07-23-2004, 06:16 PM
How many lefts and rights does Gollum eventually count on the way out of his hole in the mountain?
Radagast The Brown
07-23-2004, 06:22 PM
15?? (I had to make it for 4 characters... )
Count Comfect
07-24-2004, 09:51 PM
No, I'm looking for two numbers ("lefts" and "rights").
Christiana
07-25-2004, 05:30 PM
 6 left, 7right?
Count Comfect
07-25-2004, 07:46 PM
7 right, yes, 6 left, yes. Your go.
Christiana
08-09-2004, 11:45 AM
ooh...lucky guess.
how many verses total do the elves in Rivendell sing to Bilbo?
Halbarad of the Dunedain
08-10-2004, 04:54 AM
Is it five verses that start with "O! What are you Doing"!?
Radagast The Brown
08-15-2004, 10:35 AM
Isn't it 4?
Nerdanel
08-27-2004, 07:33 AM
Christiana? Or someone else, shouldn't we keep this thing going?:)
Telcontar_Dunedain
08-27-2004, 10:21 AM

Nerdanel
08-28-2004, 08:03 AM

Radagast The Brown
08-28-2004, 03:14 PM

Radagast The Brown
08-30-2004, 08:50 AM
What was the colour of the vessels where Beorn put the honey in, for the dwarves and hobbit for the journey in Mirkwood?
Telcontar_Dunedain
08-30-2004, 09:16 AM
Red.
Radagast The Brown
08-30-2004, 10:38 AM
Correct.

08-30-2004, 10:55 AM
Which dwarf threw a rope over the boat in Mirkwood
Radagast The Brown
08-30-2004, 11:02 AM
Fili?
Telcontar_Dunedain
08-30-2004, 11:09 AM
Yep. Your up
Radagast The Brown
08-31-2004, 06:27 AM
Whjat did the deer carried to the first meal in Beorn's house?
Halbarad of the Dunedain
09-09-2004, 05:07 PM
Was it a mead of water?
Radagast The Brown
09-10-2004, 08:14 AM
No. #
Halbarad of the Dunedain
09-24-2004, 01:50 AM
I don't think there were deer at the dirst meal in Beorn's house. Horses carried Torches, sheep and a Ram carried silverware, the horses brought the chairs. the dogs placed everything. I dont recall the deer?
Radagast The Brown
09-24-2004, 08:27 AM
I can't remember now. :D It was a long time ago. I'm sure there was a deer though. You can ask a new question now.
Halbarad of the Dunedain
10-04-2004, 12:36 AM
How many times does Bilbo wish he was back at his home?
mewhmag
10-04-2004, 05:17 AM
really trivia: can you imagine a favourite sport of hobbits?
it would be snooker, i am quite sure...
Radagast The Brown
10-04-2004, 07:01 PM
3? Maybe?
mewhmag
10-05-2004, 03:51 AM
hohum, just noticed that one has to ask trivia questions here...
(be patient with the newbie)
How many times does Bilbo wish he was back at his home?
8?
Nerdanel
11-19-2004, 07:54 PM
How many times does Bilbo wish he was back at his home?
Could we please get the answer soon?^^
Telcontar_Dunedain
11-21-2004, 02:46 PM
He hasn't been on in a while and nor has bookworm so I guess the question is up for grabs!
Radagast The Brown
11-21-2004, 04:33 PM
I'll ask then... Who carried Bilbo in the mountains when the goblins chased the company? (full answer..)
Haradrim
11-21-2004, 07:15 PM
Fili carried Bilbo in the mountain when the orcs were chasing them.
ethuiliel
11-21-2004, 08:21 PM
I thought it was Dori... could be wrong, though. Or was it both?
Haradrim
11-21-2004, 08:27 PM
Maybe it was Dori though I think it was Fili.
Nurvingiel
11-21-2004, 08:31 PM
It was Dori, but Ethuiliel already got it. Dang it, I actually knew that one! :p
EDIT: Full answer? Is this... an essay question?
Dori was compelled to carry Bilbo in the goblin's cavern because he was, as Bilbo described, "a decent fellow". This is foreshadowing to later, when Dori again saves Bilbo's life.
etc. etc. :D
Radagast The Brown
11-22-2004, 02:14 AM
I was talking about the chase in the mountains though... and yes, full answer. :p Dori and Fili are both wrong. :)
Nurvingiel
11-22-2004, 06:52 PM
You're not referring to in the mountains, right after they escaped the goblin king?
Telcontar_Dunedain
11-23-2004, 03:35 AM
Yeah because I was sure that was Dori.
Radagast The Brown
11-23-2004, 04:50 PM
They escaped the Goblin King, then Dori carried him, yes. But then, they still had to run away of the goblins; Dori couldn't keep carrying him, so he switched.. ermmm... I'm looking for that.
Telcontar_Dunedain
11-23-2004, 05:34 PM
Dwalin?
Radagast The Brown
11-23-2004, 05:39 PM
That's not the answer to my question, no.
Count Comfect
11-24-2004, 07:34 PM
Let us go dwarf-naming. Dori dropped him down to Gollum, but someone else carried him first... Ori?
Radagast The Brown
11-25-2004, 10:12 AM
The answer is not Ori.
Narsil's Master
11-27-2004, 06:00 PM
bombur did!!!!
Radagast The Brown
11-27-2004, 06:02 PM
That's not the full answer, sorry. :) (you're somehow closer than others.)( you can check in the book if you want. I'll give the answer soon anyway if nobody answers correctly)
Narsil's Master
11-27-2004, 06:17 PM
what do you mean by full answer? bombur picked up bilbo as they were fleeing the goblin hord. then he got into doris hands who in turn was grabbed by goblins, right when bilbo fell.
Narsil's Master
11-27-2004, 06:24 PM
dori had him first....then bombur......then dori again
Radagast The Brown
11-28-2004, 05:16 PM
The answer should've been all the dwarves, actually. As it is said that they swiched, all of them, IIRC. Although, only Bombur and Dori are mentioned in names; but probably all of them had, or at least most of them, if they gave Dori Bilbo again.
Nerdanel
11-29-2004, 07:17 PM
