All words are correct, except at the end somebody (I'm not going to work to discover which of you) added a "his" in the phrase "put him out of his reckoning". You will not find it in the original quote post. I know this because it was my instinct to include the "his" too, but it isn't in the book, so I took it out.

Gandalf is the speaker and yes, nicety is correct.

Also - I usually put my breaks in the same place as my book has them. That way I can analyze one line at a time and they are the same. It's nice from this end, though I realize that not everyone has the same version and therefore it doesn't work across the board. However, as I, the poster, am the only one who SHOULD be looking it up, it works quite nicely, I think.

I can't think of any Quenya that fits, either. The hyphenating is more typically Sindarin, and Dorthonion was later called Taur-nu-Fuin (is that the name you're thinking of, Valandil?), but that doesn't fit the gaps we have, and it would be odd for a speaker to be using both names as they're from different time periods.
