Curubethion
09-01-2005, 06:37 PM
Ok...I've been offline for a little bit (sorry :) ). You don't have the answer yet...the Army of the Dead didn't go to the Pelennor Fields (we're going by the books, not the movies-gotcha! :D )
Curubethion
09-01-2005, 06:39 PM
But everyone else did go to them, so I guess you're right. :)

Rosie Gamgee
09-06-2005, 08:28 PM

What were Pippin and Merry doing after they left the Grey Havens?
Spock
09-06-2005, 08:39 PM
Don't worry Rosie, check back within 72 hrs. and see if the answer has been correctly posted. That's the limit we wait for the original poster to confirm or deny. Be well.

I thought it was silver and only glowed blue when Orc's were around.....memory w/o coffee is fleeting at best. :)

I originally meant what was the color when it glowed, and it's indeed blue and I do believe the blade is silver so it's your turn! :)

Was it Ugluk or something?
Curubethion
10-07-2005, 09:01 PM
Hehe, Ugluk was Grishnakh's "buddy" in TTT. The orc was, like, Gufthang...
Telcontar_Dunedain
10-08-2005, 06:30 AM
That was mentioned at the end of TT not in RotK. Ufthank was his name but it was in the Choices of Master Samwise

What four word statement appears in ROTK and one other book of the trilogy?
Rconsole

Return of the King?
Spock
10-18-2005, 08:00 AM
I see what you're doing; counting words, however, your four words do not make a statement. Think of the rules of grammar. :)
Telcontar_Dunedain
10-18-2005, 11:42 AM
Could you be a little more specific? I'm sure there are plenty of four word pharses that only appear in two of the trilogy.
Spock

Yes, I was thinking the same thing; thanks Telcontar for 'nudging me'. :)
What four word *statement* can be found in both ROTK and The Hobbit?
Serenoli
10-20-2005, 07:48 PM
"There And Back Again", perhaps?
Spock

"There And Back Again", perhaps?
 Gee, I hadn't thought about that one. Maybe one more clarification, as I don't have time to see if this answer is correct and Serenoli doesn't seem too sure of it either.
What "declarative" statement of four words can be found in both The Hobbit and Return of The King?
that's it...no more clarification.if not guessed in 24hrs, I'll toss it to someone else.
Serenoli
10-20-2005, 09:01 PM
But I am sure of it, cos Frodo mentions it to Sam in the Grey Havens chapter, when he's showing him the almost finished book. And as for any other phrase, hmm *rifles both books in hope of finding answer*... but really, its too hard. They're both pretty large, how're you supposed to remember all these four word stuff? Won't you give a hint, at least? Like who says it, when or why?

Actually Sam doesn't mention it...it is "read" to the reader and that's not the same.
However, since you went to the extreme and it is late, I'll give it to you.
You go. :D

Pippin Took. Someone take my question if I don't get on by tomorrow.
Lotesse
10-23-2005, 09:59 PM
Today is tomorrow. (Oooooo, that was profound, huh? :D ) It's been 24 hours - should I post? To post or not to post, that is the question. Whether t'is nobler to wait for Curubethion, or plunge ahead. Hm.
Spock

Okey dokey doggie daddy. (That's from the movie True Romance, you guys if you were wondering! :D )
Butterbur informed Gandalf that "three and two" had been killed, killed dead! What was he referring to?
Curubethion
10-23-2005, 11:19 PM
He was referring to the humans and the hobbits killed near Bree while the War of the Ring had been raging. Can I post the question I was intending to anyways?
BTW...you only waited 12 hours, Lotesse. I can understand your ire at my music preferences, but to take it this far... :D
Lotesse
10-24-2005, 07:14 PM
It was exactly 24 hours, Curubethion; check the dates. Not only that, but you told us to post if you didn't get on.
You are correct; your turn.

Hobbits in the Shire?

Rconsole should post the next question as this has gotten confused with cross postings, late postings and correct postings.
Lotesse
10-26-2005, 04:33 PM
But Rconsole didn't get it right. It referred to three big folk (men) and two little folk (hobbits.)
Go ahead & take it, though, Rconsole - maybe we can start from fresh with a new good question from you! :)
Spock

OK - bad mill... was it the Shiriffs?
Lotesse

Valandil
10-29-2005, 07:50 PM
OK - Was it Farmer Cotton? (I got one other I'm thinking of, but I'm skipping him for this guess)

Sam Gamgee?
Lotesse
10-29-2005, 08:00 PM
No! This person KNOCKED DOWN Sandyman's mill, a negative thing to do. The Cottons & Gamgees would never have knocked down Sandyman's mill.
Valandil
10-29-2005, 08:06 PM
OK - that's the mill I thought of the FIRST time - but I thought I was on the wrong track after Spock's guess. :o Because wasn't the replacement mill owned by Ted Sandyman? Maybe not... well anyway, back to a baddie who would knock down the mill:

Well, she says she'll be back on Friday. Meanwhile, I'll chime in: Sam planted a grain here and there for all the trees cut down, the nut, he planted where the party tree stood and the rest he tossed into the air and let the wind take it where it was needed.
