Don't know if I'm supposed to ask questions on the second book or not so if I'm not supposed to then just tell me and I'll ask a different question.
In the fifth book before the first D.A. meeting which floor(s) were Mrs. Norris and Filch on?
Arcala
07-21-2003, 04:41 PM
Well, we were supposed to put OotP Q/A in spoiler, just in case anyone who hasn't read the book is reading this thread.
gimli7410

3rd floor and 7th i think
Fimbrethil
07-22-2003, 01:26 PM

Ok, so are we putting the book 5 questions in spoiler tags??? I guess I will, just to be safe. Ok my question: In the Sorting Hat's song, what did each of the founder's say about the people they should teach?
durin's bane
08-17-2003, 09:28 PM
"Said Slytherin, 'We'll teach just those who's ancestery is purest,' Said Ravenclaw, 'We'll teach those whose intelligence is surest,' Said Griffindor, 'We'll teach all those with brave deeds to their name', Said Hufflepuff, 'I'll teach the lot and treat them just the same.'"
That's my answer.
Salquënòrëwen
08-18-2003, 05:31 PM
Yep, that's right. :) You're turn, durin's bane.
durin's bane
08-19-2003, 11:50 AM
Alright...
Since this is a question from OotP, spoiler tag is supposed to be there:
How did Luna Lovegood's mother die?
Fimbrethil
08-19-2003, 11:55 AM
One of her spells back fired.
durin's bane
08-19-2003, 02:38 PM
That's correct! Your turn!
Fimbrethil
08-20-2003, 11:44 AM

gollum9630
08-20-2003, 04:26 PM

Fimbrethil

Radagast The Brown
10-13-2003, 08:12 AM
What is your question again?(you're right)
Fimbrethil
10-15-2003, 08:16 PM
Who's Percy's girlfriend in book 5? (not my question). What were the books Hermione got for background reading in book one?

Well, one was Hogwarts, A History
Fimbrethil
10-18-2003, 08:42 PM
Sorry my fault maybe I should have made that clearer. What were the books she got for background reading while they were on the train?
Percy Weasley
10-18-2003, 10:38 PM
Well, my girlfriend is Penelope Clearwater in book five as well. She's just not spoken of, as my parents and family do not seem to think me capable of any type of affection anymore...
Fimbrethil
10-19-2003, 02:31 PM
Please answer the question. Dumb 90 second rule.
Percy Weasley
10-19-2003, 03:30 PM

11-29-2003, 10:11 PM
I imagine they face south, but that's just my mental image.
Elf Girl
11-30-2003, 04:51 PM
Neither one is correct. But now I realize that people just have to guess two more directions and they'll have it. So I will modify the question: Which direction do the front doors of Hogwarts face, and how do you know?

No decree. There was one that forbid teachers from talking about anything but their subjects, but not the Quibbler specifically, and another banning all copies of the Quibbler, but never both together. What do you mean? And Umbridge never gave a bloody interview. It was Harry.

oops.. jk...
i just opened OOTP to a random page and read a paragraph and made a question about it... well what i thought wa the answere is in chapter 26....
okay let me make it more specific
fill in the blank "the teachers were, of coarse, forbidden from mentioning the interview bu Educational Decree Number BLANK ..." (OOTP, chapter 26)
:) i hope that helps... and i didi mean the interview given by Harry, not Umbridge, sorry:rolleyes: :)

Yep, I think thats right. I wanted to take a second look, but my sister is holding PoA book hostage...*shrug*, but if I can trust that a certain website has their facts right, than yep, your right!
I hate typing my name too, feel free to call me "Sal", as I was dubbed in the newbie thread quite a while ago. :D
Why did everyone skip? I beleive it is rightfully sirigorn's turn.

Anyways, when did Professor Trelawney predict that Harry was born?
Elf Girl
03-08-2004, 07:32 PM
'When the seventh month dies'... also known as the end of July.
sirigorn
03-09-2004, 08:42 PM
In midwinter.
Elf Girl
03-10-2004, 06:55 PM
Wait- the real prediction before Harry was born, or the pretended one in his third or fourth year?
sirigorn
03-11-2004, 08:52 AM
Yeah. Well, both were answered, so either you or me, Elf Girl, gets to answer the next question. We'll wait for Arcala to tell us, shall we?
Arcala
03-11-2004, 05:23 PM
Um...I meant the false prediction in book three. Sorry I didn't make that very clear, Elf Girl.
sirigorn
03-12-2004, 06:23 PM
OK, so I guess I was right and I'm supposed to ask the next question, right? Here's the next one:
What was Harry's first happy memory, when he was starting his patronus lessons with Remus?
Radagast The Brown
03-12-2004, 06:37 PM
I think it is the first day when Hagrid came to take Harry to the magic world and told him he's a wizard? I'm not sure.
sun-star
03-12-2004, 06:46 PM
Is it the first time he rode a broomstick? Something to do with a broomstick anyway...
sirigorn
03-13-2004, 12:27 AM
Yes, sun-star is right. Sorry Radagast!!
Your turn, sun-star!
sun-star
03-13-2004, 06:12 AM
In which chapter of which book is Sirius Black first mentioned?
Radagast The Brown
03-13-2004, 12:12 PM
I think first chapter in first book, Hagrid says he took Sirius's motorcycle to get Harry to the Dursley's.
Orli17
03-13-2004, 12:23 PM
i agree with radagast on it being the first book.
But its chapter two when hagrid delivers Harry to the dursleys' and says he borrowed the motorbike from "Young Black".
Second chapter right?
sun-star
03-13-2004, 12:25 PM
Radagast is right, it's the first chapter of "Philosopher's Stone".
Your turn Radagast :D
Orli17
03-13-2004, 12:28 PM
but isn't the first chapter about the drusleys' noticing the weirdness of hte day? i'm confused now....
sun-star
03-13-2004, 12:30 PM
Yes - the first chapter has everything that happened on the day/night Harry came to the Dursleys' house. That includes Dumbledore's visit too. It's a kind of prologue and then the second chapter skips forward about ten years.
Orli17
03-13-2004, 12:39 PM
ah ok! now i remember! i'm so dumb! anyways wish radagast were here to ask a question now!!!!
^_^ ah well.....wanna ask each other questions...tho its kinda against the rules.....dunno...^_^
Radagast The Brown
03-13-2004, 02:05 PM
Calm down, orli. :)
How did Professor Binns call Seamus Finnigan when he told the class about the Chamber of Secrets (second year)?
Elvedans
03-13-2004, 02:43 PM
This is a COMPLETE guess but was it something along the lines of O'Flanaghan?
Arcala
03-13-2004, 04:33 PM
Was it O'Flarety? *cannot check as she doesn't have a copy of this book*
Radagast The Brown
03-13-2004, 04:42 PM
Yes, Arcala. :)
Arcala
03-13-2004, 04:57 PM
YAY! So, ... let's see...

Nurvingiel
03-14-2004, 03:14 PM
Woohoo! That's the first one I've ever answered! Don't worry Orli, your time will come.
What is the sport Americans invented, borrowing heavily from Quidditch?
Radagast The Brown
03-14-2004, 03:26 PM
Is it mentioned in the books?
Nurvingiel
03-14-2004, 03:45 PM
It's in the Quidditch book. (One of the supplementary books published by Comic Relief. It's canon, J.K. Rowling did write it.) :D
Lalaith_Elf
03-14-2004, 05:38 PM
Quodpot?
sun-star
03-17-2004, 11:45 AM
Is that the one with the exploding ball? :D
sirigorn
03-17-2004, 09:41 PM
Yes, it is. It has a exploding ball they try to get into the cauldron filled with anti-exploding potion before it explodes. It sounds stupid to me, but that's just my humble opinion.
sun-star
03-18-2004, 02:09 PM
I think it's your turn to ask a question Lalaith Elf :)
Lalaith_Elf
03-18-2004, 02:29 PM

03-20-2004, 11:49 AM
Kiddstodd, may I say HUH?!?!?! I'm confused... what does the Quidditch team have to do with anything?!?!?!
