Dwarven Sen
04-23-2002, 05:51 AM
Staind outsideConfused, you bring me to my doom. again
All this time, that I could hide you safe, in vain
All the times, that I've felt insecure for you
and I leave my safety at the door

But I'm in the outside,
I'm going in,
Fingers fit through you
Unseen, no colours
You're really evil
You're one with him
Fingers fit through you
Then he can see you.

All the times that I wished that this would end
Cos of you
Gollum tastes what he can never have
cos of you
All the friends that have tried
They're intentions, fall from pride
But I waste more time than anyone

But I'm in the outside,
I'm going in,
Fingers fit through you
Unseen, no colours
You're really evil
You're one with him
Fingers fit through you
Then he can see you.

All the times that I've cried
Times been wasted The pain's inside
And I feel the lembas pushed it down.
Its back again and I lie here in web
All alone, I can't mend- But I feel
Tomorrow could be the end.

enjoy??

Thanks guys, it took a while to recall the "Thank You" song.
A good one, Dwarven Sen!

Here's a song originally sung by Norwegian Lene Marlin:

SNEAKIN DOWN HERE
(Originally SITTING DOWN HERE by Lene Marlin)

Sneakin down here, the precious on our finger,
We Sees Us Some Orcses
We's hiding from a distance,
They've gots to pay the price
Defending all against us,
We really don't know why
Eye's obsessed with all our secrets,
It always makes us cry
It seems to wanna hurts us
No matter what we do
We'll tells you of the precious,
But Gollum don't trusts in you
But we've learned how to gets revenge
And we hope you'll experience that some day

We're sneakin down here,
But hey you can't sees us,
Kinda invisible?
You don't sense Gollum
Not really hiding, but like a shadow
Just thought we would eat you this one day
We're sneakin down here,
But hey you can't sees us

We're trying not to surprise you,
But Smeagol wants to hear your voice
Though you're tripping up so often,
We really don't have much choice
The precious helps to feed usss
And is our only friend
But chatting is too late now,
We won't try it once again
You may think that we're cruel,
But we don't really care
You may think that you'll get justice,
And we should be aware
Cause friends will go get revenge
And we hope you'll experience that some day

We're sneakin down here,
But hey you can't sees us,
Kinda invisible?
You don't sense Gollum
Not really hiding, but like a shadow
Just thought we would eat you this one day
We're sneakin down here,
But hey you can't sees us
Kinda invisible
You don't sense Gollum
Not really hiding, but like a shadow
Just thought we would eat you this one day...

Uncle Kraker ‘Follow me’
Elfmaster XK ‘Follow me’

You don’t know much about me
You don’t know how
We both got here, why you’re with me now
All you know is when I’m with you
I guide you well
And I’ll show you the easy way
To get through hell
I’m singin’

Follow me and everything is alright
I’ll be leading you through Moria tonight
And if you
Want to leave then I can guarantee
You’ll get yourself lost without me

I’m not worried ‘bout the ring you wear
‘Cause as long as no one knows then nobody
Can care
You’re feelin’ scared but I’m well aware
You have got the will
Frodo I’ll get you there

[chorus]

Won’t take it for you
Or all good will die
You’re better off if you don’t ask why
I’m not the reason you were given the ring
I know we’ll all be better off without the damn thing!

[chorus]

Its kinda lame i know, but...eh...:D

V. nice everybody
last corrs one now so young/ so old

We are taking it easy, we're bright and breezy, yeah
We are living it up, just fine and dandy, yeah

And it really doesn't matter cos we don't eat,
and it really doesn't matter cos we don't sleep
It really doesn't matter it really doesn't matter at all

Cos we were so young then and we are so old, so old now
And when tomorrow comes, it'll just feel the same again

Chasing the stars and moon, running wild and free
We are living through every dream and every age

And it really doesn't matter cos we don't eat,
and it really doesn't matter cos we don't sleep
It really doesn't matter it really doesn't matter at all

Cos we were so young then and we are so old, so old now
And when tomorrow comes, it'll just feel the same again
Yeah we were so young then and we were so young so young then,
And when tomorrow comes we'll just look the same again.

We are caught without age on these many many days
We're spending all of our nights just drinking and singing yeah

And it really doesn't matter cos we don't eat,
and it really doesn't matter cos we don't sleep
It really doesn't matter it really doesn't matter at all

Cos we were so young then and we are so old, so old now
And when tomorrow comes, it'll just feel the same again
Yeah we were so young then and we were so young so young then,
And when tomorrow comes we'll just look the same again.

I like the Corrs. That was a v.g. song, Sen!

Arathorn
04-24-2002, 03:26 PM
I like it too! Corrs rock!
I just did some Duran Duran, btw:

Wild Wose
(originally Wild Boys by Duran Duran)

Wild Wose, wild Wose, wild Wose, wild Wose
Wild (wild) Wose (Wose, Wose)
The wild Wose are calling on their way back from the Pyre
In Gorgûn Lord's surrender to the new King on the rise
Wild Wose there are hunting Gorgûn reckless those that lingered
On the forest's edge they trail because there's Uruk (Uruk, Uruk)
By the woodside in a sore afraid new world
They tried to break us looks like they'll try again

Wild Wose (wild Wose) never lose it wild Wose (wild Wose) never chose this way
Wild Wose (wild Wose) never close your eyes wild Wose always shine

You got catcalls for their welcome there's orcstain from the plane
And your battle call's been ringing while you're prancing in the rain
Wild Wose wonder where is glory where is all the horsemen
Now some figureheads did fall (fall, fall) And Gorgûn war with arrows over secrets none could tell
They tried to hew you looks like they'll try again

Wild Wose (wild Wose) never lose it wild Wose (wild Wose) never chose this way
Wild Wose (wild Wose) never close your eyes wild Wose always shine

Wild Wose wild Wose wild Wose wild Wose wild Wose wild Wose wild Wose

Wild Wose (wild Wose) never lose it wild Wose (wild Wose) never chose this way
Wild Wose (wild Wose) never close your eyes wild Wose always
(Wild Wose, wild Wose) never lose it (wild Wose, wild Wose) never chose this way
Wild Wose (wild Wose) never close your eyes wild Wose always
Wild Wose (wild Wose) never lose it wild Wose (wild Wose) never chose this way
Wild Wose (wild Wose) never close your eyes wild Wose always wild Wose (wild Wose)

This one's an old Culture Club (remember Boy George) hit:

Frodo, Smeagol and Sam
(originally Karma Chameleon by Culture Club)

Precious loving in your eyes all the way
If I listen for your cries would you say
I'm a Lord without conviction
I'm a Lord who doesn't know
How to track a veiled corruption
You come and go
You come and go

Frodo, Frodo, Frodo, Frodo, Frodo, Smeagol and Sam
You come and go
You come and go
Tracking would be easy if your fingers would wear my Ring
My Golden Ring
My Golden Ring

Did you hear my wicked orcs every day?
And you have such hairy feet I heard them say
Well my Ring is an addiction
When it's worn, power is strong
But when you do you're mine forever
You bring along
You bring along

Every day tests my survival
You're my bearers not my rivals
Every day tests my survival
You're my bearers not my rivals

I'm a Lord without conviction
I'm a Lord who doesn't know
How to track a veiled corruption
You come and go
You come and go

Ok. If it's 80's tunes you want, here's one that's been re-introduced as a soundtrack for "The Wedding Singer":

Palantir Seized By King Elessar
(Originally Video Killed The Radio Star - The Buggles)

I saw you on the Palantir in Volume Two.
Strider awake, intent at tuning in on you.
With Saruman it didn't stop you coming through.
Oh-a oh
They took the visions from your vaunted destiny.
Rewritten by wizards and ancient prophecy,
And now I understand the problems you can't see.
Oh-a oh
I met your Ring-Wraiths
Oh-a oh
What did you tell them?
Palantir seized by King Elessar.
Palantir seized by King Elessar.
Visions came and broke your heart.
Oh-a-a-a oh
And now we meet in an abandoned Barad-dûr.
We hear the mem'ry and it seems so long ago.
And you remember how legends used to go.
Oh-a oh
You were the dark one.
Oh-a oh
You were the strong one.
Palantir seized by King Elessar.
Palantir seized by King Elessar.
In my mind and in the stars, we can't recall we've gone to far
Oh-a-aho oh,
Oh-a-aho oh
Palantir seized by King Elessar.
Palantir seized by King Elessar.
In my mind and in the stars, we can't recall we've gone to far.
Visions came and broke your heart, put the blame on the Valar.
You are the Palantir star.
You are the Palantir star.
Palantir seized by King Elessar.
Palantir seized by King Elessar.
Palantir seized by King Elessar.
Palantir seized by King Elessar.
(Repeat)
Palantir seized by King Elessar. (You are the Palantir star.)

(to the tune of Imagine)

Imagine theres no Tolkien

Imagine all the people
living with a void

I hope someday youll read it
and appreciate life anew.

We've Only Just Begun (Sam's Version)
(Originally by Paul Williams and Roger Nichols)

We've only just begun the quest,
Fell Wights and Bombadil
I tell my Rosie we're on our way
And yes, we've just begun

Before the Ring Wraiths come we fly,
So many trails to choose
We meet grim Strider the Dunedain.
And yes, we've just begun

Having one breakfast, that's just new to us,
Meeting the elves along the way,
Talking it over now there's nine of us,
Questing to Gondor day to day
To Gondor (To Mordor)

And when the Uruk come, we fly,
So sad our life ahead
We'll find the place where the Ring we'll throw,
And yes, we've just begun.

A Song For You (Galadriel's Version)
(Originally by Leon Russell)

I've seen so many races in my life and time
I've hung a lot of orc I've done some sad crime
I did not take the Ring of Ages
With Maiar and Valar watching
I'm sailing home now and I'm waiting out West for you

I know your image of me is more than Khazad see
I've treated you unkindly but Gimli can't you see
There's no Dwarf more important to me
Gimli' can't you please see through me
I'm sailing home now and I'm waiting out West for you

You showed me precious secrets about mithril withholding nothing
You stayed out in front and caught me staring
But now I've lost my power and if these woods don't stay together
Listen to beyond the sea cause my love is in there hiding

I'll love you in a place where there's no hate or crime
I'll love you for in Lorien you are a friend of mine
And when this age is over
Remember when we were together
Don't stay too long cause I'll be waiting out West for you

You taught me precious secrets of mithril withholding nothing
You stayed out in front and caught me staring
But now I've lost my power and if these woods don't stay together
Listen to beyond the sea cause my love is in there hiding

I'll love you in a place where there's no hate or crime
I'll love you for in Lorien you are a friend of mine
And when this age is over
Remember when we were together
Don't stay too long cause I'll be waiting out West for you
Don't stay too long cause I'll be waiting out West for you

Great songs --- this thread is addicting

ok - this one is to the tune of 'all star' by Smashmouth

A hobbit once told me
my feet are getting furry
and my waistline doesnt seem to slow down
I'm wearing yellow and green
and blowing smoke rings
and I have a strange fondness for mushrooms ....

(chorus)

Hey now I'm a hobbit
blowing smoke rings oh oh
Hey now I'm a hobbit
Its a great change somehow

all that glitters isnt gold
only shire hobbits break the mold

(end of chorus)

well thats all I could think of off the top of my head - hope you guys/girls like it waaaavvveeeee :)

This one's for eowyn144:

Dwarvish Case
(Originally Basket Case by Greenday)

Do you have the time to join me in some wine
Before hewing and score-keeping at Helm's Deep
I am one of those
Axe-swinging Khazad fools
Meat-picking to the bone
No doubt about it

Sometimes I find myself near trees
Sometimes my count plays tricks on me
My score keeps piling up
I may just show you up
Am I the better dwarf?
Or are there Huorns?

I met an Elf Queen,
She went through all my dreams
She said she saw herself; that sure shut me down
I spoke to an orc
Before I made short work
But he kept whining, then someone shut him down

Sometimes I find myself near trees
Sometimes my count plays tricks on me
My score keeps piling up
I may just show you up
Am I the better dwarf?

Aided by some Huorns
So I better hold on

Sometimes I find myself near trees
Sometimes my count plays tricks on me
My score keeps piling up
I may just show you up
Am I the better dwarf?
Or are there Huorns?

I cnat help noticing a trensd here of ppl (and elves and hobbits) stealing my alcohol! Ahh well, im a kind elf and don't mind sharing. Well here's a song i wrote in the drunk, rowdy and mangledness of the momnet

Based on 'Aladdin Sane' David Bowie
Frodo Baggins
By E XK

Watching him dash away, taking only
A faithful Sam
What a strange fate for you
Uh-h-h-uh-h-uh you’ll make it
Precious shiney old thing, take him
Away to Mordor – has to take it
Terrible, powerful One ring
Uh-h-h-uh-h-uh – you’ll make it

Who will help Frodo Baggins
With a ring of power going back to its
Origins
Who will help Frodo Baggins

Mordor so scary, certainly like hell – I’m
Waiting
Clutches of Sauron within
Wait for Frodo Baggins – you’ll make it

Who will help Frodo Baggins
Millions hope on the little hobbit of Shire
Origin
So who will help Frodo Baggins

Will help Frodo Baggins
Who will help Frodo Baggins

Who will help Frodo Baggins
Millions hope on the little hobbit of Shire
Origin
So who will help Frodo Baggins

Will help Frodo Baggins
Will help Frodo Baggins

Say the fires are oh so hot in Mount Doom

Yeah, eowyn12squared. You asked for Greenday, right?

Anyway, here's one from Starship:

Sauron
(Originally Sarah by Starship)

Mists now, there's no point, we have lost the line
Drift on; it's no good to repent our crime
I'll never find another Lord like you, for Middle-Earth it just takes two
Without Uruk-hai, the dream won't come true

Chorus
Sauron, Sauron, plots are brewin' in your eye
Sauron, Sauron, no time is a good time for reprise

Danger came with halflings and stakes were high
Stranded, I once stood stranded while those Ents stood by
I'll never find another Lord like you, for Middle-Earth it takes two
Without Uruk-hai, the dream won't come true

Sauron, Sauron, plots are brewin' in your eye
Sauron, Sauron, no time is a good time, oh
Sauron, Sauron, plots are brewin' in your eye
Sauron, Sauron, no time is a good time for reprise

('Cos Sauron) Taught me like no one has ever taught me before
(And Sauron) Tempt me; no one could ever tempt me more
(And Sauron) Sauron, nobody used me anymore

I'll never find another Lord like you
Without Uruk-hai, the dream won't come true

Sauron, Sauron, no time is a good time, oh

Chorus

Sauron, Sauron, plots are brewin' in your eye
Sauron, Sauron, no time is a good time, no Ooh
Sauron, why did it, why did it, why did our plan fall apart...

You're Proclaimed
(Originally YOU'RE SO VAIN by Carly Simon)

You walked into the City like you were walking into Harad
Your beard strategic'lly shaved for Gondorians
Your stance it was Dunedain
You had one eye on the elf girl as you watched me and took note
And all the guards dreamed that they'd be your captain
They'd be your captain, and....

Chorus:
You're proclaimed; you probably think my eyes are still on you
You're proclaimed, I'll bet you think my eyes are still on you
Don't you? Don't you?

You had me several weeks ago when I was still quite naive
Well I thought that we'd make such a noble pair
And that you would never leave
But you left me for some corpses and you got yourself an elf
I slayed a wraith and now I've got the Steward, I've got the Steward and....

Chorus

Well I hear you went up to Druedan and Wose hearts were naturally won
Then with your steed set back for Minas Tirith to see the total rebirth of your realm
Well you're where you should be all of the time
And when you're not you're with
Some Fellowship guys or your wife who's from Lorien
Wife who's from Lorien, and....

Chorus

Walk On By
(Originally worded by Hal David, tune by Burt Bacharach)

If you see Huorns walkin' down the creek
As Ents start their cry and some orcs shriek
Walk on by
Walk on by

Make believe
That you don't feel the fear just let them leave
From Treebeard we'll get all our answers
Let's go to Orthanc

Walk on by (Don't stop)
Walk on by (Don't stop)
Walk on by

I just can't let those Huorns get to you
And so if I seem hasty and rude
Walk on by
Walk on by

Mootish time
Is not what we have left, so let us ride
The tears and the madness just spare me
Now just say goodbye

Walk on by (Don't stop)
Walk on by (Don't stop)
Walk on by (Don't stop)
Walk on

Walk on by
Walk on by

Mootish time
Is not what we have left, so let us ride
The rage and the madness just save me
Now just say goodbye

Walk on by (Don't stop)
Walk on by (Don't stop)
Now we really gotta go, so walk on by (Don't, don't stop)
Greenleaf, leave, you'll never see the tears Hurons cry (Don't, don't stop)
Now we really gotta go, so walk on by (Don't, don't stop), mmm...mmm...hmm...
Greenleaf, leave, you'll never see the tears Huorns cry (Don't, don't stop)
Now we really gotta go, so walk on by (Don't, don't stop)

Talkin' to the trees and feelin' old
Sometimes my limbs would split
Halfling's talk does seem to fit
Rustling around
Making young Quickbeam frown
Rousing Days and moot days always get me down.

What we've got they used to call the hroom
Wizard done really wrong
Killing trees that lived so long
Orclings abound
Dark huorns will mow them down
Rousing Days and moot days always get me down.

Funny but it seems the halflings wind up here with you
Nice to know they understand me
Funny but it seems our moot took barely two days to do
Run and find the one who kills trees!

What we feel we've done is settle score
No need to stalk him out
He knows why we're all about
Rustling around
Waiting to call him down
Rousing Days and moot days always get me down.

This one's from Fiddler on the Roof:

Samwise, Short Set
(Originally Sunrise, Sunset by Sheldon Harnick)

Is this the little Pip and Merry?
Is this the little Took and 'Buck?
I don't remember growing taller
When did they?

When did one get to be a soldier?
When did one grow to be a guard?
Wasn't it yesterday when they were small?

Samwise, short set.
Samwise, short set.
Quickly flow the draughts
Seedlings turn overnight to young entings
Young Hobbits even as we gaze

What words of wisdom can I give, Sam?
How can we explain on our way?
Now we must learn from one another
Day by day

They look so unnatural for hobbits
Just like two mannish boys should be
Is there a canopy so tall at Bree?

Samwise, short set.
Samwise, short set.
Quickly flow the draughts
One question following another
Laden with puzzlement not fear

My personal theory is that arathorn is actually someone famous like Elton John who is approving all his new cover songs, as he feels LotR is his inspiration for life.

Oh Merry I've travelled so far
Oh Merry I've travelled so far
Don't nobody know my troubles but Sam
Don't nobody know my troubles but Sam

Oh Merry I've travelled so far
Oh Merry I've travelled so far

Orcs around me now, they like pain
Went down the hill in a daze
Orcs around now, they like pain.

Oh Merry I've travelled so far
Oh Merry I've travelled so far
Don't nobody know my troubles but Sam
Don't nobody know my troubles but Sam

Closer to doom, where's Gollum gone
We're going there now Boromirs dead
Closer to doom wheres Gollum gone

Nice one Sen! I'm done with my 3-day song fast. Yay!:D

Here's a Beatles song for ya'll since F.B.-B.'s no longer here (hope she comes back, though):

Elanor Gamgee
(Eleanor Rigby by John Lennon, Paul McCartney)

Ah, look at all the hobbit people
Ah, look at all the hobbit people

Elanor Gamgee silently weeps near the hill where her father had been
Lives near an inn
Stares to the West now, clutches the Red Book that Sam gave to her once before
Where's Valinor?

All the hobbit people
Where do they all come from?
All the hobbit people
Where do they all belong?

Faramir Took-lad wedded young Goldilocks Gamgee of last we did hear
Sam sheds a tear
Look at him gard'ning
Waiting for signs that it's time to sail west
When will he rest?

All the hobbit people
Where do they all come from?
All the hobbit people
Where do they all belong?

Ah, look at all the hobbit people
Ah, look at all the hobbit people

Elanor Gamgee fin'lly she died near the hill with good Fastred her mate
Such is her fate
Pippin and Merry riding away from the Shire to Rath D*nen their grave
Home of the brave

All the hobbit people (Ah, look at all the hobbit people)
Where do they all come from?
All the hobbit people (Ah, look at all the hobbit people)
Where do they all belong?

Bob Dylan – Not Dark Yet
E XK – Not Lost Yet

The orcs are comin’ and I’ve been here all day
Can see across the plains, ain’t no way to get away
Feel like my soul has turned to steel
If we don’t win this battle the wounds will never heal
We’re surrounded! Surrounded, can’t go nowhere
It’s not lost yet, but it’s getting there.
Well my sense of security has gone down the drain
To save our beautiful city there will be every kind of pain
Out on the battlefields we don’t know what we’ll find
How the enemy will attack, what’s in Sauron’s mind
I just don’t see hoe some people don’t care
We’ve not lost yet, but we’re getting there.

Well I’ve been to Rohan and I’ve been to Bree
I followed the river and looked across the sea
But if Mordor wins this battle no one else will ever try
They’ll be no good left, no one left to cry
The hope is on one hobbit now, but how much can he bear?
All’s not lost yet, but it’s getting there.
I was born here and I’ll die here, against my will
I’ll stand alone if I have to, never standing still
We’re all out in the fray now fighting for our lives
For all the children of all folk, our families and our wives
Everywhere you go you hear a murmur of a prayer
Because it’s not lost yet, but it’s getting there.

Elfmaster XK

Wehey!
Two songs in a day
Arathorn, your title i will take away
What do you say?

Okay, maybe not, but i was feeling poetic in a lame and pointless way! Now, where's the drinks...

Bryan Adams – Where Angels Fear to Tread
E XK – Where Elves Fear to Tread

[Ring]
We’ll I’m wrapped around your finger
You can’t let me go
With you I shall linger
Until my master calls me home

You take me up to Mordor
But I’ll get back to Sauron first
You know you’ll never get there
A simple hobbit as you are

[Chorus]
How could they think you could destroy me?
How could you even let go of me?
You’ve found a lucky way here so far, but look ahead
The cracks of doom, where even elves fear to tread

[Frodo]
Don’t wanna carry on
But I just have to
Don’t wanna live through this
Gotta do what I have to do

The way you cause so much pain
I feel you heavy, heavier
Draggin’ on your chain
This is Hell for me!
You’re drivin’ me insane!

How could they think I could destroy you?
How could I even let go you?
I’ve found a lucky way here so far, but looking ahead
The cracks of doom, where even elves fear to tread

Here's a link about the worm (http://www.travelyucatan.com/info-6.htm). Not to worry. :) We rarely import american tequila which has the worm.

Anyway, the next song is from Duran Duran once again:

The Revenge
(Originally The Reflex by Duran Duran)

He's gone too far this time and I'm massing all my Elven kind
I tell you some valar's prancing around with my Silmarils and that Attercup
I crossed that bridge when my Pop died the other day and made my stand oh-woah
High time is no time for deciding if I should smite Teleri hands oh-whoa
Why did I lose it tried to reclaim it buy time won't waste it
Why did I lose it tried to reclaim it buy time won't waste it

The revenge is for Morgoth's crime, no breaking of the pact
The revenge is in charge of finding our treasure in lands dark
And watching over Morgoth's Tower isn't that bizarre
Every little thing the revenge does leaves you answered with a Balrog's mark

I'm on a ride and they wanna get off but I won't slow down and threw them out
I doomed the Noldor and all kin, I bet, don't wanna be around when Manwe's out
So why did I lose it tried to reclaim it buy time won't waste it
Why did I lose it tried to reclaim it buy time won't waste it

The revenge is for Morgoth's crime no breaking of the pact
The revenge is in charge of finding our treasure in lands dark
And watching over Morgoth's Tower isn't that bizarre
Every little thing the revenge does leaves you answered with a Balrog's mark

So why did I lose it tried to reclaim it buy time won't waste it
Why did I lose it tried to reclaim it buy time won't waste it

The revenge is for Morgoth's crime no breaking of the pact
The revenge is in charge of finding our treasure in lands dark
And watching over Morgoth's Tower isn't that bizarre
Every little thing the revenge does leaves you answered with a Balrog's mark
Oh the revenge what a game we're playing all the odds
The revenge is in charge of our treasure in lands dark
And watching over Morgoth's Tower isn't that bizarre
Every little thing the revenge does leaves you answered with a Balrog's mark

And the next one's from Neil Sedaka:

Riding in the Wain
(Originally Laughter in the Rain by Neil Sedaka and P. Cody)

Strolling along Ithilien with shield maiden
We see a wain and begin to ride
Without periannath to talk of their kin
We find a river and pop the wine
I feel the warmth of her hand in mine

Oo, I was riding in the wain
Guarding Ithilien with Eowyn my love
Oo, how I love our riding days
And the happy way we feel inside

After a while we ride next to a tree
I turn to her and she kisses me
There was a blink it in fact was an ent
Softly he breathes and then closed his eyes
Sharing our love under watchful eyes

Oo, I was riding in the wain
Guarding Ithilien with Eowyn my love
Oo, how I love our riding days
And the happy way we feel inside
I feel the warmth of her hand in mine

Oo, I was riding in the wain
Guarding Ithilien with Eowyn my love
Oo, how I love our riding days
And the happy way we feel inside
Oo, I was riding in the wain
Guarding Ithilien with Eowyn my love
Oo, how I love our riding days
And the happy way we feel inside
(repeat and fade)

Minas Tirith (sung by Denethor)
(original tune: Gotham City by R. Kelly)

I'm standing on the walls of Minas Tirith
The City of Anor shines brightly in the sun
I can look east but I don't fear it
My city is strong, I will not run

City of Knowledge, city of Lore
The Watchful city in the light of day
We all live here, won't ever leave it
Minas Tirith oh yeah

The future I can see in my Palantir
A good Steward is also a good seer
We lost our last King so long ago
But Gondor no longer needs a King, hell no

City of Knowledge, city of Lore
The Watchful city in the light of day
We all live here, won't ever lleave it
Minas Tirith oh yeah

City of Knowledge, city of Lore
The Watchful city in the light of day
We all live here, won't ever leave it
Minas Tirith oh yeah

And in the middle of the Dawnless day
The gates will tremble and I will burn
But I know my city will survive me

City of Knowledge, city of Lore
The Watchful city in the light of day
We all live here, won't ever leave it
Minas Tirith oh yeah

Minas Tirith

Great songs everybody.
Overview of Current Thread:
Arathorn has had a mad Yoda/Tequila induced mangling spree, mangling about twelve songs in the space of five minutes (with the help of the worm).
Earniel has finally tried her hand at song-mangling to great alcohol-influenced effect.
BoP is wondering what the hell is going on as she had no idea about the tequila thing and then visits the thread finding a load of drunk mooters there. She then joins in with the madness and starts referring to Goldfish.
Strawberry Milkshake and XK are being worried Veggies after the confession about the worm in the American Tequila.
And me...
I'm just as drunk!

'Findel
(Originally Daniel; Music by Elton John; Lyrics by Bernie Taupin)

'Findel is traveling tonight on to Bree
He can see the Ring Wraith strides heading across the planes
Oh and I can see 'Findel calling us nigh
Yes it looks like 'Findel, not the corruption of the Eye

They say Rivendell's pretty though I've never been
Well Bilbo says it's the best place that he's ever seen
Oh and he should know, he's been there enough
Strider, I miss Gandalf, oh I miss him so much

'Findel my savior you lent your horse to me
But I still feel the pain of the scars that won't heal
Elrond has tried and I did not go die
'Findel you're a star in the face of the sky

'Findel is traveling tonight on to Bree
He can see the Ring Wraith strides heading across the planes
Oh and I can see 'Findel calling us nigh
Yes it looks like 'Findel, not the corruption of the Eye

Well Done Arathorn!!!

Hee hee. There's a v. embarassing story involving this song.
I was in France a while back in a holiday camp (don't ask); and there was a Kareoke evening on the Thursday, so I decided to have a go. I was looking through the list and I saw the Elton John songs and I thought: I'll have a go.
That was at 8.00.
I finally got to sing at 10.45 and I was mesmerised by the rubbishness of the video. So mesmerised in fact, that at one point I forgot to sing! I was so embarassed.

*Sings kareoke of mangled version*

Right... where's the Tequila. GG, Eowyn and Strawberry know what I'm like when I have (substitute) Tequila in my system. Actually it's Slush Puppie but there is v. little difference apart from the absence of the worm. The great worm...
*Hiccup*

Eruviel Greenleaf

I have another song!!! Warning though, it doesn't make much sense and is far from accurate, but that's alright. At least I finally wrote it!

Evil Dark Rider (originally Paperback Writer, The Beatles)

Evil Dark Rider
Hey, Dark Lord, will you give me a Ring ?
I want some power, and I'm a human king.
I've ruled so long without much glory
I don't want to die,
So I want to be an evil dark rider
Evil Dark Rider
It's a boring life in a boring land
And it seems nobody can understand
My kingdom simply is not enough
It's a steady job
But I want to be an evil dark rider
evil dark rider, evil dark rider
I want a couple thousand years, give or take a few
And I want to cause fear in not just a few
I can stick around a while if you'd like me to
I can prevent the elves from bein' 'round
And I want to be an evil dark rider
Evil dark rider, evil dark rider
If you really like me you can have my rights
I will ride all over without a fight
I can chase down hobbits, who bear the Ring
But I'll need a Ring,
And I want to be an evil dark rider,
evil dark rider, evil dark rider
evil dark rider.

And again, I propose something new. . .*takes out a few bottles of cider and starts singing:* 'Oh never, oh never, oh never again, if I live to a hundred or a hundred and ten, 'cause I fell to the ground, and I couldn't get up, after drinking a pint of the johnny jump up' (great song, that! don't think i can mangle it though...or maybe i can!)

Rosie-Lass
05-04-2002, 01:59 PM
Oh I'm sure anything can be mangled under the influence of alcohol!

I made this Limerick up while doing hurdling yesterday (right after I made a dent inthe ground with my head and (I think) broke my foot (I'm serious))!

The Tractor
There once was a tractor called Tractor,
But it had a v. secret factor,
It could talk it could sing,
It even had wings,
And the birds almost died there of laughter.

Ta-da!
WHISKY, I NEED WHISKY! GET ME TO A BAR!

Eruviel Greenleaf
05-04-2002, 02:16 PM
*hands Rosie-lass some whiskey* But you really ought to try my cider! :)

'I'll tell you a story that happened to me, one day as I went down in Yawl by the sea. The sun it was bright, and the day it was warm. Says I, "A quiet pint woudln't do me no harm." I went into the barman, I said "Give me a stout." Says the barman, "I'm sorry, all the beer 'tis sold out. Try whiskey, or vodka, ten years in the wood," Says I, "I'll try cider, I've heard that it's good."'

Yeah, I'll definitely mangle that one :D

Rosie-Lass
05-04-2002, 02:21 PM
Yeah, I'll definitely mangle that one
Do that, it'll be cool.

BTW, that's a really cute limerick Rosie-Lass. I almost forgot that there's also a limerick's thread somewhere here...

Oh well, here's the new song which was sung by Barbra Streisand and Bryan Adams for the movie THE MIRROR HAS TWO FACES:

I Finally Forged The One
(Originally I FINALLY FOUND SOMEONE by B.Adams/B.Streisand/M.Hamlisch/R.J.Lange)

I finally forged the One, that knocks them off their feet
I finally forged the One, that makes me feel complete
It started with the Eldar, they started forging rings
It's funny how from simple trinks, the best plans begin

This Ring is different (dah dah dah dah)
With all my malice too (dah dah dah dah)
It's better than my other tricks
'Cause it can corrupt too
Oohh, my favorite line was "This one's precious and mine!"
It's all you had to say to give your soul away

(Chorus)
This is it, oh, they're all bound by the One
The One that corrupts life
They're all bound by the One, to be bound day and night
'Cause whatever they do, they just got to have you
All life will be undone
They're all bound by the One, ooh, the One
They're all bound by the One, oooh

Did I get the Nine Men (they didn't mind)
But not the elf lords (Sauron, that's fine)
I would wait forever just to get them on my side
And I got some dwarves, it sure took some time
I love how you wear, aiding in my crime
You're malevolent, I can't wait to get hold of all life

(Repeat Chorus)

Whatever I do, I just got to wear you
My reign has just begun
I finally forged the One

*hic* Yet another good song, Arathorn! :D

Okay, I'll try to mangle that one now. *decides not to post another verse of the original, and drinks some cider instead* No, it's not home-brewed, I'm afraid, because the best stuff is the Johnny Jump Up, and it's from Ireland. . .watch out, it's strong stuff, if you couldn't tell from the song! :D

Good ones! :)

I've got an idea for another mangled song. God, you guys got me addicted!!! It's stronger than my self, really. Must.... mangle..... song....

I'm afraid it will be a not-booze-induced song as I don't drink much alcohol. *looks guiltily down at her orange juice-filled glass* Um, I guess that makes me the only one who is weird enough to mangle songs without the necessary high levels of alcohol..... auch ;)

You know one of my secrets is not really the booze. It's when I'm about to go to sleep that I mangle. It just sets my mind to be halfway to dreamland. :)

Come to think of it, my best songs seem to come after 2AM.

Hey, Arathorn, could I make a request, if it hasn't been done? Don McLeans "American Pie"? Please? :D

Arathorn

Sure thing, BOP! Give me a few hrs to get sleepy again, LOL!

I think I avoided it since I keep picturing Weird Al who mangled it 3 yrs ago for SW:Ep. I. It is the song legends are made of.:)

Man do I have a hangover!
That cider sent me to sleep good and proper! V. good stuff!
My avatar reflects my aspiration to a drunken person kinda thing!
Has anyone ever had that really nice Scottish Grouse Whiskey. That nearly burnt a hole in my throat.

I'm only awake at 2.00am when I have drunk coffee before bed. I'll have to try mangling then. It might make the words flow, like The Tractor when I hit my head.
Hmmmmmm...

ooh, American Pie. Love that song. Of course, I have seen many mangled versions elsewhere, but considering Arathorn's skill with mangling, I'm sure it will be worth it. :)

You sure gave me a mouthful to mangle BoP. (whew)
So here it is:

TO MORDOR THEY FLY
(Originally AMERICAN PIE by Don McLean)

A long, long time ago
In a hole, a hobbit lived
Who went to venture many miles
And he knew if he had a chance
His nephew would follow his stance
And stories they'd be piping for a while

But Bilbo's gold ring gave them shivers
As Nazgul came across the river
Gandalf on the doorstep;
Made them take one more step

They barely made it past the wild
But Tom came in singing with his bride
Then someone with a past to hide
Helped them go through their stride
So...

Ai Ai East to Mordor they fly
Met some elvish and some dwarvish and some men who would try
And though Boromir died and the hobbits did cry vowing this'll be the Age Sauron dies
This'll be the Age Sauron dies

To Mordor went Frode and Sam
The rest tailed friends who're in a jam
But they escaped the uruk horde
Now they ran in to old Fangorn's grove
And met Treebeard who's angst they drove and
Can they moot without taking it slow?

Well Gandalf White rose back from the grave
'Cause Middle-Earth he just has to save
He met with Strider who
Led Legolas and Gimli too

They met a Mark Captain named Eomer
And told his king what Orthanc's perils were
Grima ran to his new master
The day they hit their stride
They started singing...

Ai Ai East to Mordor we fly,
Met some elvish and some dwarvish and some men who would try
And though Boromir died and the hobbits did cry vowing this'll be the Age Sauron dies
This'll be the Age Sauron dies

Now in Helm's deep orcs they have just hewn,
And Legolas and Gimli's scores were known
But that's not where they ought to be
'Cause sly Wormtongue ran towards Saruman
To warn of perils from south Rohan
And Theoden roused a strong army

Oh and while the king's men made orcs frown,
The ents took Orthanc and closed it down
The tower was secure,
No uruk could endure

And while horsemen came out from the Mark,
Saruman's future loomed quite dark
And Gandalf spoke and let him go
The day they hit their stride
They were singing...

Ai Ai East to Mordor we fly,
Met some elvish and some dwarvish and some men who would try
And though Boromir died and the hobbits did cry vowing this'll be the Age Sauron dies
This'll be the Age Sauron dies

Helter-skelter in a summer swelter
The Nazgul flew from their wicked shelter
Eight miles high and diving fast,
They scared men out in the grass
The Dark lord called on his Morgul King
To take Gondor, but Gondor called Rohan its kin

Now the darkness on the tower loomed
While Nazgul flew and mumaki boomed
Theoden pranced his last,
Dernhelm killed the Morgul King quite fast

Now the western forces took the field
The orcs and easterlings won't yield
But new ship's banners were revealed
The day they hit their stride
They started singing...

Ai Ai East to Mordor they fly,
Met some elvish and some dwarvish and some men who would try
And though Boromir died and the hobbits did cry vowing this'll be the Age Sauron dies
This'll be the Age Sauron dies

Oh, Sam and Frodo went to a place,
A spider's lair old Shelob's lace
With no time left Gollum escaped
But good ole Sam was nimble, Sam was quick,
Sam shot shelob with the sword Sting
Well Gollum's the spider's only friend.

Oh, and as Sam wore the One ring
Orcs took his master's other things
No hobbit can quite tell
Why orcs ran from his spell

And as they both ran east into the night
To melt the One Ring in Doom's light
Sam heard Smeagol cursing with delight
The day they hit their stride
They were singing...

Ai Ai East to Mordor we fly,
Met some elvish and some dwarvish and some men who would try
And though Boromir died and the hobbits did cry vowing this sure was the Age Sauron died
This sure was the Age Sauron died

And when they woke up to bright hues
And Gandalf broke to them all the news
Well they just gaped and beamed away.
They were the heroes of new lore,
Of the times when halflings sure did score
And the many said the hobbits sure could slay.

And in the Shire the hobbits screamed,
The ruffians ran and a wizard got creamed
But not a word was spoken
Why Frodo's wounds had woken

So the two friends left the Shire like ghosts,
Young Sam and Frodo whom he loved the most
Frode caught the last ship for the West
The day they hit their stride
And they were singing...

Ai Ai East to Mordor we fly,
Met some elvish and some dwarvish and some men who would try
And though Boromir died and the hobbits did cry vowing this sure was the Age Sauron died
This sure was the Age Sauron died

They were singing Ai Ai East to Mordor we fly,
Met some elvish and some dwarvish and some men who would try
And though Boromir died and the hobbits did cry vowing this sure was the Age Sauron died
This sure was the Age Sauron died

And that Finrod guy keeps teling people he's gota new song but it's not coming.

Elven Queen
(Originally Dancing Queen by B. Andersson, S. Anderson, B. Ulvæus)

Took your chance, still alive, not sailing west to survive
See that elf, watch her beam, make way the elven queen

Gondor nights and the lights are low
Looking out from the tow'r aglow
Waiting for the right moment, the end of the king
And Fellowship of the Ring
No orc captain could beat that guy
He's so young yet his aims are high
Play for him his last music, we don't have much time
You're in the mood for a trance
And when you get the chance…

You are the elven queen, wise and sweet, thirty seventeen
Elven queen, silken feet walk like pearls agleam
Took your chance, still alive, not sailing west to survive
See that elf watch her beam, make way the elven queen

You're a healer, you're like the dawn
They'll be yearning after you're gone
Looking out for another, anyone will do
You're in the mood for a trance
And when you get the chance…

You are the elven queen, wise and sweet, thirty seventeen
Elven queen, silken feet walk like pearls agleam
Took your chance, still alive, not sailing west to survive
See that elf watch her beam, make way the elven queen

I've got one! I know the original song had more verses, but I came up with this while sailing on a boat in Florida...though you'all woudl like it. :)

One Ring is Gone (sung by Frodo)
*Ticket to Ride, by the Beatles*

I think I'm gonna be glad
I think it's today, yeah
The ring that was driving me mad
Has been thrown away, yeah!

It would have taken me over,
Taken me over for good...
It would have taken me over but now it's gone

One Ring is gone! (lala etc)
One Ring is gone! (lala etc)

I don't know why it passed down to me
Should'a been destroyed long ago
But now I'm setting Middle Earth free
Grab the One Ring, and Samwise, and gooooo...

and so on. Maybe I'll write more verses later.
So, how do you like my first attempt?

I'm also working on mangling "We Open In Venice" from Kiss Me Kate, the musical...anyone know it?

Candle in the Wind by E XK

Goodby Theòden king
Though i hardly served you at all
You had the grace to return to us
When Wormtongue tried to make you fall

He crawled into your country
And whispered evil into your brain
Set you on the treadmill
To make your power wane

And it seems to me you lived your life
like a candle in the wind
Leaving Rohan for Gondor, when the dark set in
And i would have liked to have known you, but i was just a hobbit
Your candle burned out long before
Your legend ever will

The red arrow is the most
Important thing you'll every send
You fought so bravely
right to the very end

But then when you died
fighting for what's right
By your faithful servant Snowmane
A death that was a sight

[Chorus]

I was tipsy...:D

Madman acros the water - Elton john
Ringbearer across the water - E XK

I can see very well
there's a boat on the river with a lonly hobbit
and i can see it very well

This is a joke and i know it very well
It's that Samwise Gamgee can't swim
Come back! Ringbearer you can't go!

I can see very well
there's a boat on the river with a lonly hobbit
and i can see it very well

I'm a fool and i know i'll follow you
Even into the water whatever you do
It's very stupid, i can't swim, i know

Now i'm in the boat you think it's funny
Get a load of me, I'm so insane (*cough* Anduril * cough* )
We'd better get to the other side Frodo
It looks very bad
The two of us trying is simply mad

The others hope they'll see us very soon
But i'm just happy to be with you
After all i saw was a glimpse of the ringbearer across the water.

BTW. the brackets not part of the song :D :D

David Gray- Sail Away This is a song by Tuor I guess

Sail away with me honey,
I'll put my life in their hands
Sail away with me honey now now now
Sail away with me
We'll go across the sea
I wanna go their now now now

Crazy elves are all around me now
Gothmog tearing down the place
And all the things I held so dear
Disappeared amid the flames
For all the times I counselled him
Never could quite understand
Earendil if you here me now
Wished things never got so bad
Sea's swishing round my head.

Sail away with me honey,
I'll put my life in their hands
Sail away with me honey now now now
Sail away with me
We'll go across the sea
I wanna go their now now now

I've been talking something elvenish
Falling in the line of fire
Trying to get to destination here
So stupid, some people are
How did I ever get so far

Sail away with me honey,
I'll put my life in their hands
Sail away with me honey now now now
Sail away with me
We'll go across the sea
I wanna go their now now now

Sail away with me honey,
I'll put my life in their hands
Sail away with me honey now now now
Sail away with me
We'll go across the sea
I wanna go their now now now

Sail away with me honey,

FRODO WE LOST OUR WAY
(Originally BABY I LOVE YOUR WAY by Peter Frampton)

Shadows grow so strong sent by the Eye
And they're moving towards the Shire
Hopefully to Bree we get tonight
Far away from the smials but don't hesitate
'Cause Gandalf won't wait hey
Ooh Frodo we lost our way Foolish day
Wanna tell you we lost our way Tookish day
Wanna dine with you late today

Elf appears to shine and light the sky
Will he heal you, but time flies
I wonder how they have the power shine shine shine
I can see wraiths under the pines
But won't hesitate 'cause your wound won't wait heyeyey
Ooh Frodo be on your way ride today
Wanna tell you be on your way ride today
Wanna be with you after today uh yeah

Well don't hesitate 'cause Nazgul won't wait
I can see the darkness in your eyes
Brown and grey and pale besides
Wraiths are stalking Asfaloth fly on
Wish I could fly you out of reason
But don't hesitate 'cause Elrond can't wait hey
Ooh Frodo be quick your way fly today
Wanna tell you hang on your way uuhh
Wanna be with you the next day
Ooh Frodo you're on your way tiring day
Wanna tell you go on your way uuhh
Wanna be with you night and day

SAM'S AROUND AGAIN
(Originally COMING AROUND AGAIN by Carly Simon)

Frodo sneezes
Samwise pleases
Rosie breezes in
So good the gaffer
So romantic
But so bewildering

Chorus:
I know hobbits ain't the same
But if Sam's willing to play the game
He'll be coming around again
So don't mind if Sam falls apart
There's more room in his broken heart

He leaves the Gaffer
Been a gard'ner
Kissed his Rose Good-bye
Then he hears some banter
Burned some taters
Heard the nazgul cry

(Chorus)

And Sam believes in love
But what else can he do
He'll guard the Ring with you

I know hobbits ain't the same
But if Sam's willing to play the game
Sam's coming around again
(repeat and fade)

Awww, i like them!

And btw, I believe EG offered me some Sake which i forgot to say 'YES PLEASE!' to, so 'YES PLEASE!'

I've run out of things to do. Perhaps a request would be good.

Oh yeah, did anyone actually do 'We are the Fellowship.'

I don't think anyone did...but I'm not really the right person to ask because I'm a little behind. Do more Beatles! I like Beatles! They're also about the only thing I can sing along to...:)
Anyone know more of Enya's songs, besides May It Be and Aniron? Are there any good mangling prospects?

Here's a stab on an Enya song that made her popular in the late 80's (and in ramp modelling shows):

Anduino Flow
(Originally Orinoco Flow (Sail Away) by Enya)

Greenleaf Sail, Gimli Sail, Past The Anduino Flow,
Greenleaf Reach, Gimli Beach On The Shores Of Valinor.
Greenleaf Sail, Gimli Sail, Lest We Grow Old In Gondor,
Greenleaf Reach, Gimli Beach Far Beyond The Bending Sea.

From Rohan To Aman - In The Wake Of The Vanyar,
From Rauros To Mandos Past The Land of Eldamar,
Lothlorien To Lorien Hear The Power Of Manwe,
From Sindar To Eldar - Journeys West No Man Can See.

From The East To The West, Namarie To Erebor,
From The Bay Of Belfalas To The Islands Of Our Kin,
Carry Me And The Dwarf To The Lands I've Never Been,
Carry Me And The Dwarf To The Lands I've Never Seen.

Sindar Sail, Khazad Sail, Sindar Sail
Sindar Sail, Khazad Sail, Sindar Sail
We Can Steer, We Can Near Without Cirdan At The Wheel,
We Can Sigh, Say Goodbye Elessar Is Gone For Real
Sindar Sail, Khazad Sail, Sindar Sail
Sindar Sail, Khazad Sail, Sindar Sail

I'm not sure if all are accurate but it's quite difficult to look for 2 syllable places. I was even tempted to get some names from Beleriand. Oh well...:)

I DIDN’T WRITE THIS, I FOUND IT ON A SITE ON THE INTERNET

to the tune of "My Old Man's a Dustman".

CHORUS
Oh, my father was a hobbit,
My mother was an elf,
My Uncle Mabel's dwarvish,
God knows about myself.
But even though my ancestors were readers, every one,
I still can't understand the bloody Silmarillion.

The hobbit was a favourite,
Farmer Giles was brill,
Lord of the Rings was rather good,
Lost Tales was better still.
The Silmarillion I've tried,
Time and time again,
But reading past page ten
Is sending me right round the bend.

CHORUS

The brother of the father of the uncle to myself,
Was married to the cousin of the sister of an elf.
Morgoth is my granny, Frodo is my Aunt,
I hope you're making sense of this, 'cos I still bloody can't!
You might have figured out by now, it's driving me insane,
The knights and Gods and heroes are whirling round my brain.
So if you've got it figured out, please do not hold back,
You'll find me in the jacket with the sleeves around the back!

CHORUS AD NAUSEUM

Okay, it's hard to keep away....I made another one. This is one that would be perfect for Eruviel:

Laurelin and Telperion
(originally: Bonny Portmore from Loreena McKennit)

O Laurelin, Telperion how Kementari does grieve
The woefull destruction of your ornament leaves
For you brought life to Aman for many's the long day
Til the darkness of Ungoliant came to drain it away

O Laurelin, Telperion you're shining were you stand
Your glow lights fair Valinor beyond the mortal lands
The Calaquendi saw your light, the avari never did
All the lords of Elven Tirion could not reproduce your light

All the elves and the Valar, they bitterly weep
Saying one fruit and flower is all we could keep
For the silver light of Telperion is now forever drowned
And the green leaves of Laurelin've all fallen on the ground

O Laurelin, Telperion you were shining were you stood
Your glow no longer lits fair Valinor as it once would
The Calaquendi saw your light, the avari never did
All the lords of Elven Tirion could not protect your life

Now here's a beach song by, who else, the Beach Boys:

Valinorian Girls
(Originally CALIFORNIA GIRLS by Brian Wilson/(Mike Love uncredited lyricist))

Well Greenwood elves are hip
I really dig those bows they bear
And the Gondor girls with the way they talk
They knock me out when I'm down there

The Shire-Folk farmer's daughters really make you feel alright
And the Lorien girls with the way they kiss
They keep their elf-boys warm at night

I wish they all could be Valinorian
I wish they all could be Valinorian
I wish they all could be Valinorian girls

Aman's coast has the sunshine
And the elves all get so tanned
I dig a silmarily on Undying 'land
Morgoth must've lost one in the sand

I been all around this Middle-Earth
And I seen all kinds of girls
Yeah, but I couldn't wait to get across the sea
There to the cutest girls in Arda

I wish they all could be Valinorian
I wish they all could be Valinorian
I wish they all could be Valinorian girls

I wish they all could be Valinoria
(Girls, girls, girls yeah I dig the)
I wish they all could be Valinoria
(Girls, girls, girls yeah I dig the)
I wish they all could be Valinoria
(Girls, girls, girls yeah I dig the)
I wish they all could be Valinoria
(Girls, girls, girls yeah I dig the)

Here's one from Phil Collins: :o(yawns before bedtime)

UNDYING ISLES
(Originally ANOTHER DAY IN PARADISE by Phil Collins)

He Sneaks Out With A Man After Bree
'Sir, Can You Help Me?
We're told That Gandalf here We'll See,
Is There Somewhere He May Now Be?'

They Walk On, Some Wraiths On Their Tail
They Pretend They Can't Hear Them
Starts A Gallop As He Rides To The Ford
Seems The River Just Gulped Them

Oh Think Twice, It's Another Day For
You In These Undying Isles
Oh Think Twice, It's Just Another Day For You,
You In These Undying Isles

He Runs Off To The Land Past The Marsh
He Can See It's Been Dying
He's Got Slinker On The Trail With Webbed Feet
Stinker Talks But He's Lying

Oh Think Twice...

Eru, Is There Nothing More That Manwe Can Do
Eru, There Must Be Something You Can Say

You Can Tell From The Lines On His Back
You Can See Orcs Have Been There
Probably Been Thrown Off From That Dreary Place
'Cos He Didn't Fit In There

Oh Think Twice...

Ok, here's a collaboration.
I'll Be There For You : The Rembrandts
Mangled by Rosie-Lass with help from Arathorn

So no-one told you quests were going to be this way,
*clap clap clap clap clap*
The food's a joke, you're broke, and that Willow's in your way,
Seems like Bill's always stuck in second gear,
When it hasn't been your day, your week, your month, or even your age, but,

I'll be there for you,
When the pain makes you crawl,
I'll be there for you,
Like I've been there before,
I'll be there for you,
When the Ring's too heavy for you.

You're still in bed at ten and Strider was up at eight,
I burned our breakfast, so far, things aren't going great,
My Gaffer told me there'd be days like these,
But what he didn't tell me then was that the Ring'd bring you down on your knees, and

I'll be there for you,
When the pain makes you crawl,
I'll be there for you,
Like I've been there before,
I'll be there for you,
When the Ring's too heavy for you.

Frodo:
No-one could ever know me,
No-one could ever see me,
Seems you're the only one who knows,
How to cook very nicely,
Someone to face the day with,
Make it through all the mess with,
Someone who'll always like me,
Even when I'm under pressure,

OOOOOOHHH, YEAH.
(Guitar Solo)

It's like Bill's always stuck in second gear,
When it hasn't been your day, your week, your month, or even your aaaaage,

I'll be there for you,
When the pain makes you crawl,
I'll be there for you,
Like I've been there before,
I'll be there for you,
When the Ring's too heavy for you.

I'll be there for you,

I'll be there for you,

I'll be there for you,
When the Ring's too heavy for you.

Well, yesterday on the bus home from Ellensburg (the home of Central Washington University, and Washoe, the first non-human to learn human language), my friend Ondolle (well, that's her Quenya name) and I were trying to mangle some songs, and she came up with quite a few. . .hopefully she will write her very good songs down and post them, but for now here's a short, very silly one...to the tune of 'Grandma was run over by a reindeer.'

Will someone please save us from this maniac,
He's tearing up the Shire right and left.
We don't know 'im, says his name is Sharkey,
And as for you, the book tells all the rest

I did Goodbye yellow brick road for ya...

Goodbye Yellow Brick Road - Elton John
Goodbye Beautiful Shire - E XK

I'm sorry you can't come with me
On this final journey, Sam
You say i should stay in the Shire
Should listen to my old Sam

You know i can't live forever
On my own, or with you
I've got to do this one alone
You can't be constantly torn in two

Ah, Ah,
So goodbye beautiful Shire
Where the good hobbit people live
I'll miss you my beautiful home
And i'll miss you all too
Going over the sea, into the West
Your persistance to follow i admire
But i've finally decided my future lies
Beyond the Beautiful Shire
Ah, Ah.

What will i do without you?
My faithful friend, Sam
You've got Rosie now, and your little kid
On the way, you don't need me Sam

In your heart you know why i go
It hurts me to stay
From a long carried burden
You've helped me on the way, let me go.

Ah, Ah,
So goodbye beautiful Shire
Where the good hobbit people live
I'll miss you my beautiful home
And i'll miss you all too
Going over the sea, into the West
Thank you for all that you've done Sam, my dear,
Your future Sam, lies right here]
Goodbye Beautiful Shire

Sailing On An Elf Ship
(Originally LEAVING ON A JETPLANE by John Denver)

All my pipes are packed I'm ready to row
I'm marching here towards the shore
I hate to break your sup to say goodbye
But the Age is breakin' these next few morns
Cirdan is waitin' he's callin' me on
I hope you won't be lonesome please don't cry

Kiss Rosie, Sam, smile for me
Tell me that you'll follow me
Love her like you've never loved before
Cause I'm sailing on an elf ship
Don't think that I'll be back again
But Sam my wounds hurt so

There's so many times I've pushed you down
Those many climbs We've sneaked around
I tell you now that you've helped bring that ring
Every Isle I go I'll think of you
Every ring I smoke I'll smoke for you
When you come forth I wish we then can sing

Kiss Rosie, Sam, smile for me
Tell me that you'll follow me
Love her like you've never loved before
Cause I'm sailing on an elf ship
Don't think that I'll be back again
But Sam my wounds hurt so

Now the time has come to leave you
One more time let me hug you
Gandalf calls, I'll be on my way
Dream about your kids, young dad
Fair Elanor and Frodo-Lad
Young Rosie-Lass, and Merry, come what may...

Kiss Rosie, Sam, smile for me
Tell me that you'll follow me
Love her like you've never loved before
Cause I'm sailing on an elf ship
Don't think that I'll be back again
But Sam my wounds hurt so

Sailing on an elf ship
Sailing on an elf ship

OK. All faint in shock for i have mangled a song!!!

presenting originally Seasons in the Sun

~Fading to a Nazgul

Goodbye Samwise, It’s hard to die
You say I’ll be ok,
But it’s a lie,
I hear the Nazgul – “Come to me”
And now my heart is filled with fear,
Fow now you shed a single tear.

Goodbye Gandalf, please come to me,
You aren’t here now and
You weren’t in Bree
I see you pacing up and down
With your face set in a frown
As in the dark, I start to drown

we had quests we had jobs we had
evil to destroy,
but the places that weve gone
will be evil b’fore to long.

goodbye my friends, Pip and Merry,
you were always there
for me
And now I see you looking sad,
For I shall soon be something bad
Hate to lose the things we had

goodbye Strider it´s hard to leave
but this darkness I
can just not heave
Now its time for me to go
And become your greatest foe
I hope I do not cause much woe

we had quests we had jobs we had
evil to destroy,
but the places that weve gone
they’ll be evil b’fore to long.
we had quests we had jobs we had
evil to destroy,
but the places that weve gone
they’ll be evil b’fore to long.

goodbye to you, I see the end
I’m cloaked in shadow, no one to defend
And with this wound upon my chest
Blackness in my heart will infest
Because one shard in me does rest

But now I see a shining light,
It wakes me up and makes me want to fight,
Glorfindel puts me on his horse,
I make it ride with all my force,
I beat those nazgul, no remorse.

we had quests we had jobs we had
evil to destroy,
but the places that weve gone
they’ll be evil b’fore to long.

There was darkness there was death, I thought
that I was in hell,
But now everyone is safe for we are housed in Rivendell.
seasons have all gone

There was darkness there was death, I thought
that I was in hell,
But now everyone is safe for we are housed in Rivendell.
seasons have all gone

There was darkness there was death, I thought
that I was in hell,
But now everyone is safe for we are housed in Rivendell.

One more before I go to sleep at 3am...(I need to stay up after about 19 hrs for Attack of the Clones! :D )

This one's based on "The Look of Love from one of the James Bond Films in the 60's:

The Fool of Tooks
(Originally The Look of Love by Burt Bacharach and Hal David: Sung by Dusty Springfield)

The Fool of Tooks has seen your eye,
A Took your wiles can't fool twice.
The Fool of Tooks, you're seeing so much more
Than some halflings you should seek.
And when your Wraiths have heard,
Well, they'll take their breath away.
I can hardly wait to see you,
Stake my claims around you,
How long I have waited,
Waited just to scare you,
Now that I outflank you;
You've seen the Fool of Tooks,
He's what you face,
The Took that orcs can't erase.
You're mine this Age,
Let this be just the start of
Your many frights like this;
I'll take my kingdom now
and then heal it with a kiss.
I can hardly wait to see you,
Stake my claims around you,
How long I have waited,
Waited just to scare you,
Now that I outflank you;
You better go.
You better go.
I'll see you go.

ok, here goes. This is my first try so I apologise for the poor quality.
Under Pressure by Queen and David Bowie (note: this is the version found on Queen Greatest Hits 3, which is a remix)

Frodo: You said Mordor, Mordor is dangerous.
But if that's the only way.
Even a hobbit can see that it's so.
La, la, la, la, (bom bom bom bom) AAH!

Riders on the streets, streets, streets...

Why don't you give Aragorn one more chance?

Pressure, pressure, pressure, pressure, pressure,
Pressure, pressure, pressure, pressure, pressure,
Pushing down on me, pulling me further down
What shall I do?
Under pressure, the price of holding the Ring
Gotta make it to the slopes of Mount Doom.

It's the terror of knowing what the Ring is about
Merry and Pippin screaming "Let me out!"
Tomorrow brings me closer to the orcs, Nazgul, and the Cracks of Doom.

Gandalf's gone - died in Khazad Dum
Boromir, I think he is dead too.

Nazgul in the air
Nazgul in the air

It's the terror of knowing what the Ring is about
Merry and Pippin screaming "Let me out!"
Tomorrow brings me closer to the orcs, Nazgul, and the Cracks of Doom.

Turned away from it all, like Isildur
Put the Ring on - its my preciousss!
Then Gollum came along and bit my finger off!
Why?????

We're stuck in Mordor, we're both going to die!

Sam: Mr Frodo, don't give up now
I'm sure that we'll get back home somehow
Come on let's try now, try now, try now...

Hear the sound of the Eagles,
They're coming, they'll take us
Back to Gondor where we're heroes
Look now there's Gandalf
He's alive and we're alright
And everyone's safe now
The Ring's gone and Strider's King
No you're not dreaming
And Strider is King

King of Gondor
King of Gondor
Gondor

There you go, my first attempt, written in a frenzy of pre-exam nerves. (Yes, it probably would have been more prductive to revise!)

as some people could say, i am a huge queen and david bowie. i love that song garina, and you did a cool job on it! i have the remix one on GH3 and the original version. i have a feeling that E XK may have something to say on this one, as she is a queen fan(i think!!)

I shall try to mangle another Queen song soon, but the easiest one has already been done! (The Show Must Go On) Now I will have to go through my albums finding something to do. I know! I will try and mangle I'm going slightly mad, although I can't guarantee it's gonna rhyme! Here goes...

Earniel
05-15-2002, 03:04 PM
QUEEN ROCKS!!!!!:D

Great mangling Garina!

Arathorn
05-15-2002, 03:10 PM
Your skill in mangling more than shows great potential, young Garina. Feel the melody and the lyrics righting themselves in the stanzas and choruses.

More songs must ye mangle. Yearn for more, our ears do. More songs... More songs...

Garina
05-15-2002, 04:02 PM
Wow! Praise from the Bard himself! :D *Garina does a happy dance around the room, remembers she's posting and sits back down*
Anyway, here is an alternate "I'm Going Slightly Mad"(Queen)

We're going Tolkein mad!

When the temperature in Middle Earth rises
Then the meaning is far too clear
One thousand and one golden elanor
Begin to dance in front of you - oh dear!
Are they trying to tell you something?
You're reading too much maybe?
Your complaint is a serious one
And one that is shared by me!

We're going Tolkein mad
We're going Tolkein mad
It finally happened, happened
It finally happened, oh yes
It finally happened
We're Tolkein mad!
Join us!

You're one tree short of Lothlorien
You are not quite yourself
One jewel short of Smaug's treasure
You start to think that you're an elf!

I'm one meal short of a hobbit
(I'm sure that it's time for tea)
I know far too much trivia
I think I'm a mallorn tree!
We're going Tolkein mad
We're going Tolkein mad
It finally happened, happened
It finally happened, oh yes
It finally happened
We're Tolkein mad!
Join us!

Now we have such an obssession
We're mangling songs freely
We even have a book out
(I'm waiting for edition three*)

We're going Tolkein mad
We're going Tolkein mad
It finally happened, happened
It finally happened, oh yes
It finally happened
We're Tolkein mad!
Join us!

*look, three rhymes with freely, ok :)

mmmm tequila :D

Am also underage!
Evil doctors have banned me from drinking real alcohol. :( sniff

I dont think anyone else has done We are the Champions, although it has been suggested. So here goes:

We are the Fellowship of the Ring

This is our quest
This is our goal
Walking to Mordor
Through wind, rain or snow.
Legolas and Gimli,
Gandalf the Grey
Frodo, Merry, Sam, Pippin, Boromir, and Aragorn *
To show us the way

We are the Fellowship of the Ring
This is the road we are following
Climbing mountain ranges
Walking through the forests
On our way to Mordor
Yes, we are the Fellowship of the Ring.

In the Mines of Moria
Gandalf passed away
In the woods of Laurelindorenan *
We were shown a new way
Now we've sailed the Great River
With orcs on our trail.
Attacked by the Uruk-Hai, Boromir fell
It's the end of his tale!

We were the Fellowship of the Ring
But now our Fellowship is breaking
Frodo crossed the River
Sam Gamgee went with him
They've gone to Mordor
Alas for the Fellowship...

We were the Fellowship of the Ring
But we have no time for lamenting
Merry and Pippin were captured
We must try to free them
Farewell to Boromir
Farewell to the Fellowship of the Ring.

*these lines do fit! Honest! Its how Freddie sings them

My third effort at mangling - written during an incredibly hot Geography lesson. Just one more day at school...

Gimli's Theme
(Originally Arthur's Theme by Christopher Cross)

Once in an age you'll find her
Noldo that wins your dwarvish heart
And next thing you know
You´re questing with a Sindar
Look up and she's bewitched you
Even though you left her in Lothlorien
Keeping score with an elf
Named Legolas

CHORUS:
When you get caught
Between the orcs and Minas Tirith
I know she needs me so I hew
If you get caught
Between the orcs and Minas Tirith
The best that you can do
The best that you can do
Is aim above

Gimli, he mines where he pleases
All of his life his cousin's halls
And deep in these mines he finds
What killed his kin
Filling their graves with gems and some metals
He´s looking for ways to hew them orcs
He´s waiting for them to strike
He 's biding his time

CHORUS

SOLO

CHORUS x 2

Very Good, Garina! Woah, she needs to be added to the list of great songwriters on this thread! That was fantastic! I love Queen too, but am not a big a fan as GG or XK, or Garina, so it would seem.

Garina

Ok, especially for Eowyn, Savage Garden's Two Beds and a Coffee Machine:

And he takes another step
Slowly he kneels down beside
Checks if he is breathing
Tears away the spider’s thread
Wracking his brains to decide
Where to go or what to do
But he must choose a path soon
For time is ticking away
Should he continue the quest
Or lay his master to rest?

Another ditch in the road,
He keeps moving
Another ambush
He keeps moving on
And the miles pass by so slow
He wonders how he’s gonna make it through.

And there is Rosie to think of
The Gaffer back home in the Shire
He wonders if he’ll ever go back there
To see the ones he loves
But the Ring has to go to the Fire
He decides to leave his master
Try to finish what’s begun
Somehow he must carry on
Then he loosens the chain
Persuades himself not to remain

Another ditch in the road,
He keeps moving
Another ambush
He keeps moving on
And the miles pass by so slow
He wonders how he’s gonna make it through.

He hears the quarrel of the orcs
And he realises his wrong
That his master wasn’t dead and gone
Now he has hope in the darkness
He knows he’s gonna make it

Another ditch in the road,
He keeps moving
Another ambush
He keeps moving on
Running up the stairs so fast
Trying to erase the past
He wonders if he’ll ever make it

Eruviel, I will give you as much virtual alcohol as you want if you finish the revised songbook!:D
