This isn't a 'what's your favorite song' thread (I know there are already some of those). I want to know what's running through you're head right now.

Me?

I'm gonna be--the Proclaimers

For some random reason that is perfectly unexplainable, ;) I've got the song from Anastasia stuck in my head. The one that goes something like, "Dancing bears, painted wings, things I almost remember, and a song someone sings, one upon a December." The reason it's strange is because I haven't seen the movie in like.....two years? Cool soundtrack though.....:)

Whiskey in the Jar by The Pogues and The Last Saskatchewan Pirate by Arrogant Worms. Someone here asked if anyone had heard of The Pogues, so I downloaded Whiskey in the Jar, which is a traditional Irish drinking song. Don't ask about the Arrogant Worms song. (I don't understand it either) Both of those get stuck in your head. I guess I have an eclectic taste in music.:D

Aha! Finally someone else who's heard of the Arrogant worms! I'm listening to Rippy the Gator right now! It's really a sick and twisted song. The first time I heard it some guys at our school did it for a talent show. They had a stuffed bear, and as the song progressed, they ripped of the arms, legs, and finally the head, and tossed them into the audience *heehee*

Desmond owns a barrow in the market place,

Desmond says to Molly hey I like your face
And Molly says this as she takes him by the hand:
Ob la di, ob la da, life goes on dumduhduhdum life goes on. :D

I am the Walrus.

I am he as you are he as you are me and we are all together.
See how they run like pigs from a gun, see how they fly.
I'm crying.

Sitting on a cornflake; waiting for the van to come.
Corporation tee-shirt, stupid bloody Tuesday,
man, you been a naughty boy, you let your face grow long.
I am the eggman, they are the eggmen.
I am the walrus; goo goo g'joob.

Mister city policeman sitting pretty little policemen in a row.
See how they fly like Lucy in the Sky, see how they run.
I'm crying, I'm crying. I'm crying, I'm crying.

Yellow matter custard; dripping from a dead dog's eye.
Crabalocker fishwife, pornographic priestess,
boy, you been a naughty girl you let your knickers down.
I am the eggman, they are the eggmen.
I am the walrus; goo goo g'joob.

Sitting in an English garden waiting for the sun.
If the sun don't come, you get a tan
From standing in the English rain.
I am the eggman, they are the eggmen.
I am the walrus; goo goo g'joob g'goo goo g'joob.

Expert textpert choking smokers,
Don't you thing the joker laughs at you?
See how they smile like pigs in a sty,
See how they snied.
I'm crying.

Semolina pilchard; climbing up the Eiffel Tower.
Elementary penguin singing Hari Krishna,
man, you should have seen them kicking Edgar Alan Poe.
I am the eggman, they are the eggmen.
I am the walrus; goo goo g'joob g'goo goo g'joob.

Goo goo g'joob g'goo goo g'joob g'goo.

Aishiteta to nageku ni wa
Amari ni mo toki wa sugi te shimatta
Mada kokoro no hokorobi o
Iyasenumama kaze ga fuiteru

It's too late to cry I love you.
The wind still blowing, my heart still aching

Hitotsu no me de asu o mite
Hitotsu no me de kinou mitsumeteru
Kimi no ai no yurikagode
Mo ichido yasurakani nemuretara

One side of my eyes see tomorrow,
And the other one see yesterday
I hope I could sleep in the cradle of your love, again

Cry for me, somebody, with dry eyes

The real folk blues
Honto no kanashimi ga shiritaidake
Doro no kawa ni sukatta jinsei mo warukuwanai
Ichido kiri de owarunara
The real folk blues
I just want to feel a real sorrow
It's not bad a life in the muddy river
If life is once

Kibou ni michita zetsuboto

Koin no omoi to kuramitaita
Hopeless hope, and the chance with traps
What is right, or wrong
It's like a both side of a coin

Dore dake ikireba iyasareru no darou
How long I must live till I release?

The real folk blues
Honto no yorokobi ga shiritai dake

Tambourine Man ~ Bob Dylan.

"...Take me for a trip upon your magic swirling ship
All my senses have been stripped
My hands can't feel to grip
My toes too numb to step

Into my own parade, cast your dancing spell my way
I promise to go under it..."

Although with me, the vast majority of any given year is devoted to The Beatles or John Lennon, whom I consider the most intelligent creators of rock n' roll ever; I dunno, I just feel SMART while singing along. As an antidote, though, to cleanse my musical pallet for more Beatles later, I've been on a total KISS kick. Consequently, at any given moment of the day right now I've got some KISS song or other stuck in my head. Worst of all, lately it's been "Cold Gin." "It's cold gin time again! You know I always win!" "She's well aquainted with the touch of the velvet hand like a lizard on a windowpane" it ain't.

Well, a song that is always stuck in my head is one my family made up together. *sing with southern colony croon*

"Put your hand in the fan and you will lose a fiiiiiinnngggerrrrr
Put you foot in the fan and you will lose a tooooeeeee
You put your face in the fan and you will look at others diff'r'ntly
You put your body in the fan and you'll have a new anatomy"

*anatomy is "aminamally"*

I love anonymity, and I love being noticed,
Just the same as anybody else
Years ago I told you how I love to be alone, but
These days I'd be perjuring myself

Ballad of SanFrancisco

and:
Can’t believe that I did it again
Wake me up from this nightmare
‘Cause this monster is wasting me away and taking my days

Everyday I live a bit less; one night leads to another
Even if I went back would they recognize me or criticize me

Who are you that lies when you stare in my face
Telling me that I’m just a trace of the person I once was
Cause I just can't tell if you're telling the truth or a lie
On you I just can't rely. after all you're just a piece of glass

Still I control this nightmare, when I call it answers
But I can't tell it when to come or when to stay

Who are you that lies when you stare in my face
Telling me that I’m just a trace of the person I once was
Cause I just can't tell if you're telling the truth or a lie
On you I just can't rely. after all you're just a piece of glass

Don’t talk, listen
Hold me tighter
Stay with me just for a while
Until the sun shines stay with me
Just give me one more day

Who are you that lies when you stare in my face
Telling me that I’m just a trace of the person I once was
Cause we're not the same, you're just a picture of me
You’re gone as soon as I leave; you've lived my life for me
And you're no more than a piece of glass

Piece of Glass

Its ok I forgive you. Hey at least you knew the name of the song. And yes if you are in the music industry and you dont even know who the Beatles are you should be dipped into a tank full of sharks thats just dispicable. Its like some of these hip hop and rap artists who sample classic older songs because their agents suggest it and they have no clue at all who they were. I just want to smack them very hard! Puff Daddy syndrome. But current rock artists do it too. Nothing is holy any more unfortunately.

Well, it isn't really a real song, it's a spoof.

It's spoofed on Gloria Gaynor's "I will survive" I'll copy and paste the lyrics from wherever I can find them!

MALE VERSION

First I was afraid I was petrified
At the ugly slapper that was lying by my side
I would've drunk a little less, I would've tried to keep my head.
If I'd known for just one second you'd assault me in your bed…
I tried to go, walk out the door
But you've been sitting on my legs and I can't feel them anymore
And now you're sitting on my face, my nose has vanished - not a trace,
I only hope that your big knickers aren't made of liquorice lace
I want to go, I've got to leave
Before your fat and naked body makes me want to heave
Only hope that no one saw me walking home with such a slut.
God the things that you get up to when you're half cut.
Please let me go, I'm getting scared
There's nothing I can do to stop those ugly breasts from being bared.
I think that I must have been mad,
God what made me want to court her?
With t*ts that look like Tesco bags I've just filled up with water
It's time to go, run out the door
She's started hinting she wants sex on her dirty lino floor
I don't think there's anything worse than the al-co-hol-ics curse.
I WILL SURVIVE !

To which the girls reply.........

FEMALE VERSION

At first I was afraid, I was petrified.
By the ugly w***er that was lying by my side.
I would've drunk a little less, I would've tried to keep my head,
If I'd know for just one second I'd be in your crusty bed...
I tried to go, walk out the door.
But I laughed so hard at your small knob that I've fallen on the floor.
Your butts a pimply mess, it's just a broken-out disgrace,
But I'd rather look at that, than at your F###ing ugly face...!
I want to go, I've got to leave.
Your talk of chicks and football really makes me want to heave.
I only know I've got to stop my drinking spirits and the beer
Coz when I looked at you last night, you looked just like Richard Gere !
Please let me go, I feel quite sick,
We had the worst sex in the world and you're an ugly p**ck
I should have shagged your gorgeous mate, at least he's got a lovely flat
But no I go and trust the booze and now I'm stuck with you, you tw*t.
It's time to go, run out the door.
You look so ugly it should really be against the law.
I'm going to give up all the booze, I'm going to have no stupid fun
Coz waking up beside your mug, just makes me want to be a nun !
I WILL SURVIVE!!

A verse from Blind Guardian's "The Curse of Feanor".

I will always remember their cries
Like a shadow which covers the light
I will always remember the time
But it's past
I cannot turn back the time
Don't look back
There's still smoke near the shore
But I arrived
Revenge be mine

And simultaneously the chorus to another Blind Guardian song called "Noldor (Dead Winter Reigns)".

I know where the stars glow
(And the) sky's unclouded
Sweet the water runs my friend
(But) Noldor
Blood is on your hands
Tears unnumbered
You will shet and dwell in pain

TheWhiteRider

ska is basically a fast pace music with guitars, drums, and usually trumpets or other instruments. I think it is associated with punk because punk is often fast pace too.

I've heard OF it. Countless times. I don't know what it is, nor what genre it can be compared to. That's why I asked, numb-nuts. :p I'm confused, because when I checked on google, most sites said it was the precursor to reggae, whereas the contexts I've found it in here on the 'moot, and other places usually use it in conjunction with punk. Hence my confusion.

Well some people like to compare it to circus music. (Nobody flame me for saying that. I'm not one of those people.) But it's kinda like rock with trumpets.
