Ah, don't worry about it. It was an interesting idea, though. I never thought of it that way.

Here's a question to mull over: why does The Eye of the World have so many minor parallels to Lord of the Rings (Moiraine-Gandalf, Shadar Logoth-Moria, Rand/Mat/Perrin-Aragorn/Legolas/Gimli, Thom Merrilin-Tom Bombadil, Horn of Valere-Boromir's Horn), and why aren't there parallels like this in the later books?

Also, what do you think of the parallels between some of the main characters and Norse gods?

almost done with Crown Of Swords. i loved Lord of Chaos!Crown of Swords is really good so far!!

I think I've said this before, but Crown has the best climax moment of them all. It's my favorite book.

I see I'm not the only one to notice that. Of course I thought of Lan-Aragorn him being an uncrowned King.

Also, what do you think of the parallels between some of the main characters and Norse gods?
I never thought of that

Acally, where are you in the series now? There's a major WoT plot that everyone talks about that happens in FoH. Let's just say...it's Wheel of Time meets Clue. ;)

Acalewia

Finishing up with SR. I just bought one and I can't remember which one it was. :o

Acalewia
06-12-2006, 03:19 PM
Ok just finished SR, is it me or does Rand have a duel at the end of each book? And I have another theory( :D ) Each duel is with a Forsaken!
How exactly did Nyneve block herself? Was it when they met the Seachan the first time?
I heard someone say that one of the events in FoHinvolving Moriane and Lanfear  Don't tell me, I'll find out myself :D

I bought Crossroads of Twilight and New Spring

Curubethion
06-12-2006, 07:14 PM
Rand ends pretty much every book with a duel...except for Book 10. And Book 9, although some might dispute that. You'll get what I mean when you get there.

And Nynaeve blocked herself because she was a wilder. Any woman who learns to channel on her own, without guidance, develops a block. This helps them to deny the fact that they're channeling, if only to themselves. Nynaeve's block is that she can't channel unless she's angry. An Accepted named Theodrin used to be a wilder, and she had an unusual block: she couldn't channel unless a boy was in the room.

Nynaeve was blocked long before the books began. That whole time she was a Wisdom, she was able to channel. She just didn't know it. That's why she was a Wisdom.

Hey, like my new siggy?

An Accepted named Theodrin used to be a wilder, and she had an unusual block: she couldn't channel unless a boy was in the room.
That is funny. Thanks for clearing that up for me

Hey, like my new siggy?
I meant to say something about that. :o Its a true statement... and funny

Curubethion
06-12-2006, 07:57 PM
I meant to say something about that. :o Its a true statement... and funny
Plus, RJ said it! :D

I can't wait until you get to the end of the series...there's so many things that happen! And you won't believe all the crazy theories that are out there!

Oh, and that someone is right about the event in Fires of Heaven. That's not the event I was referring too. Hopefully, you didn't hear too much about the event.

Acalewia
06-12-2006, 08:17 PM
More then what I wanted to hear :(

b.banner

i finished Crown of Swords, Path of Daggers and Winters Heart i am now reading Crossroads of twighlight. Why hasn't Hurin from The Great Hunt been in any more? :( i liked him

Curubethion
06-14-2006, 06:28 PM
Wow! That was quick!
Remind me...who is Hurin again? :p
Yes, he did kind of drop out. But look at the bright side: you get to meet all sorts of cool characters!

b.banner
06-15-2006, 08:42 PM
the sniffer he was in the beggining of the Dragon Reborn too

Acalewia
06-16-2006, 01:18 PM
I think he was joking.

I think I know who Morgase's lover is. And it ain't good. ;)

I got yet another theory!

Curubethion
06-16-2006, 02:07 PM
I think I know who Morgase's lover is. And it ain't good. ;)

Yup. Poor guy, he just got his nose into all sorts of things. Talk about Daes Dae'mar!

What's your new theory?

Acalewia
06-17-2006, 10:30 AM
When Egwen was raised to Accepted, In her third "viewing" of what will, She saw herself as Amerlyn. And Elaida stripped her of the Stole and stilled the Keeper. She tells the Keeper she has never held the Oath Rod.

Well, events in SR were pretty darn close to what Egwen saw, so my theory: Egwen becomes the Amerlyn for the AS who fled the White Tower, without being raised to AS herself.
I have way too much freetime :p

And I'm trying to word this so not to ruin it for those who haven't read the first 4 books.

Curubethion
06-17-2006, 04:42 PM
Wow! What a theory...I guess you'll have to read and find out. I didn't pay much attention to that...

Spoiler for those who have read Lord of Chaos:
!!!She's right on the $$$!

Acalewia
06-18-2006, 06:29 PM
Like I said: I have way too much free time.
I was right about Morgase's lover! Per Asomedon(sp)

Curubethion
06-18-2006, 10:45 PM
I actually misunderstood you when you made that statement...I thought you were referring to everyone's favorite Gleeman. :o
Lord Gaebril plays a big part in FoH...also triggering one of the most often-quoted lines in WoT.

Acalewia
06-19-2006, 04:38 PM
I actually misunderstood you when you made that statement...I thought you were referring to everyone's favorite Gleeman. :o
I don't think that one is two sided anymore. I thought of that at the begining of FoH when he does stuff the queen would be POed about if she wasn't, for lack of better wording, under his spell.

Curubethion
06-19-2006, 05:56 PM
So you're on FoH now?

Acalewia
06-20-2006, 01:11 PM
Yeah, i'm on chapter 3 now. I thought I posted that I finished SR

Curubethion
06-20-2006, 07:11 PM
Ah, I must've forgotten. I've been popping in and out of Entmoot so much...

Acalewia
06-21-2006, 01:18 PM
You too, huh?
Ok i lied, its chapter 7

Curubethion
06-21-2006, 04:20 PM
Ah, remind me what's happened so far. You can put it in spoilers if you want.

b.banner
06-22-2006, 08:37 PM
i finished Crossroads of Twilight on saturday :D i have been thinking about something in Lord of Chaos Rand finds out Tigraine was his mother then that means Galad is his half brother

Curubethion
06-23-2006, 03:47 PM
Yah, very interesting, huh?

Just wait until you get to KoD! The Prologue rocks!

Acalewia
07-02-2006, 09:44 PM
Go Morgase! She finally figured it out!

Curubethion
07-03-2006, 12:58 PM
Just wait until you see what Rand does...

Acalewia
07-05-2006, 01:14 PM
I can never guess what Rand's going to do next.
I'm three quarters done with FoH and I've noticed RJ hasn't taken us back to the Two Rivers yet. And Nynaeve is getting kinda wierd.

Curubethion
07-05-2006, 05:38 PM
Get used to leaving parts of the plot behind. Mat gets forgotten entirely in Lord of Chaos.

Acalewia
07-06-2006, 01:15 PM
I've noticed he does that. For example, Min was forgotten after being sent back to the Tower in DR. I think he does that to make you keep reading ;) the suspense factor

Curubethion
07-06-2006, 08:57 PM
Yeah...
What did you think of that little Rand/Aviendha scene in the middle of Fires of Heaven?
(And now you know why I remembered the name Aviendha)

Beren3000
07-07-2006, 05:04 AM
I think he does that to make you keep reading the suspense factor
Wait a few books or so, when some plots are gonna be ignored for whole books. Then they'll pop up again suddenly and you'll find you've forgotten almost everything about them. Not supsense but over-inflated writing!

Curubethion
07-07-2006, 11:27 AM
Haha...that's for sure! I just about got entirely lost in Crossroads of Twilight!

Acalewia
07-07-2006, 02:40 PM
Yeah...
What did you think of that little Rand/Aviendha scene in the middle of Fires of Heaven?
(And now you know why I remembered the name Aviendha)
Surprise! Really the last person I expected to, well you know, with Rand.
And yes I see why you remember the name Aviendha. And I'm gonna keep the rest of that comment to myself.

Curubethion
07-07-2006, 09:28 PM
Do I really want to know?

But yes, I was fairly, well, shocked when I read that scene. I was like: "Hold on...what just happened here???"
Yes...it gets even better by Book 9 or so...

Acalewia
07-10-2006, 05:38 PM
No you don't.

I had this look on my face when I read that:

b.banner
07-11-2006, 04:45 PM
according to RJ book 12 will be called A Memory of Light :D oh and i finished Knife Of Dreams! i loved it only second to Lord Of Chaos!

Curubethion
07-11-2006, 09:50 PM
Hey, congrats! Everyone's anxiously awaiting the 12th book, although they're even more anxiously hoping that RJ will recover from his blood disease.

So, b.banner, do you ever feel like giving Rand a hand now and then? ;) (Pay no heed, Acally :p )

Acalewia

It's a spoiler, of sorts.

b.banner
07-13-2006, 11:27 AM
did anyone read RJ's latest blog? he said something about wheel of time outrigger novels thats sounds awsome!

Curubethion
07-13-2006, 07:13 PM
If he lives to finish them, it'll be awesome! I think there's supposed to be one about Tam fighting in the Aiel War, and one about Lan and Mori's journey to the Two Rivers.

Acalewia
07-14-2006, 01:21 PM
Prequels like A New Spring?

Curubethion
07-14-2006, 04:02 PM
Yep, that's what it sounds like. That would be really cool.

How far along are you in FoH?

Acalewia
07-15-2006, 10:34 AM
Nynaeve and Elayne are in Salidar, back to being Accepted. Chapter 50, I think.

Curubethion
07-15-2006, 12:55 PM
So you're almost done! Tell me what you think of the last few chapters. They've got the most-quoted line in WoT.

b.banner
07-17-2006, 03:16 PM
does anyone know who the people on the cover of Knife Of Dreams are? i figure out all the other books but i just can not figure this one out

Curubethion
07-17-2006, 10:02 PM
The dude with the beard and the white shirt is obviously Perrin, so I'd guess that the woman is Faile. Could the dude on the left be Elyas? Argh, I'm trying to remember if there was a scene like that...

Beren3000
07-18-2006, 06:33 AM
I think the woman is that Seanchan officer Peerin teamed up with

My guess on the guy with is face vieled is Gaul.

Curub you are talking about the last few chapters of FoH, right?

Curubethion
07-18-2006, 03:14 PM
Yes, I was talking about the last few fun chapters. You finished? What did you think of that cool little plot device?

B300: Hmm...I don't think that would be it. The woman you're talking about wouldn't be in a dress, but in the armor typical of her folk, if you get what I mean.

Beren3000
07-19-2006, 07:38 AM
But IIRC she was the only one looking at a map with Perrin

b.banner
07-19-2006, 11:55 AM
i thoght the guy with a Mustache could be Bashere but then who would the others be? but i do know that Logain is on the back so it can't be Perrin.

Curubethion
07-19-2006, 01:20 PM
But IIRC she was the only one looking at a map with Perrin
Yeah, but I'm sure she would be wearing her green-and-black armor. The cover art never gets everything totally right. For example: Perrin is depicted as being in the Stone when Rand grabs Callandor.

Pytt
07-19-2006, 02:30 PM
The cover on my version is just the wheel and the aes sedai snake in gold. And I don't remember much of it, besides of the major bombs. I should read them from 1-11 sometimes soon, just to get the story and all the plots straight.

Acalewia
07-20-2006, 01:07 PM
Yes, I was talking about the last few fun chapters. You finished?
Not quite. A few more chapters but I love the fact that Nynaeve has thought to use an a'dam on the Spider :D  Too bad it only works in the World of Dreams. I have 4 more chapters and I'm done.

Curubethion
07-20-2006, 08:03 PM
Heehee...I was reading your spoiler comment...well, just keep reading through the books. ;)

Acalewia
07-21-2006, 10:28 AM
I've finished FoH! Wow! the last few chapter was suspenseful and action packed. I don't think Lanfear is dead  Is it me or did Nynaeve just send our cowardly Forsaken to Salidar?
I don't know what to call that last fight. I'd say duel but it wasn't excatly a duel. Am I making any sense?

Acalewia
07-24-2006, 05:17 PM
I love the fact that Nynaeve has thought to use an a'dam on the Spider :D  Too bad it only works in the World of Dreams.
Now I see how that works in the waking world.

Curubethion
07-25-2006, 02:58 PM
Sweet, you're done! Wasn't that an awesome use of balefire?

Here's the two most-quoted lines in WoT, and they both come from FoH...
"You? No!"
"RAHVIN!"
We love to joke about how in the second quote, Rand got ahold of the Dark One's BIG VOICE MACHINE. ;)

Also...can you see all the Moiraine-Gandalf parallels now? (Especially in FoH, at the very end...)

Acalewia
07-26-2006, 01:42 PM

I agree on that. Although I think it was RAVIIIIIN! ;)

*Eyebrows shoot up* I noticed. I've already figured out that "the balrog" has been reborn somehow ;)

Curubethion
07-26-2006, 03:10 PM
Okay, here's something to remember. You know about Moiraine's three letters, right? As you read through the series, keep track of which ones we get to read. Because one of those letters has a really big twist...

Acalewia
07-27-2006, 01:26 PM
Three? I thought there was two: The one to Rand and the one to Thom

*uses balefire on the rule  *

Curubethion
07-27-2006, 11:29 PM
There was also one to Lan, which is pretty self-explanatory.

BTW, if you balefired the rule, how come it still whacked my posts yesterday? :p

Acalewia
07-28-2006, 01:15 PM
Hmm. I think my balefire is broken

I didn't realize she wrote a letter to Lan. We've read Rand's. She knew she was going to battle Lanfear and die.

Btw, is this comment a bit of a hint:
Also...can you see all the Moiraine-Gandalf parallels now?

I just picked up WoT again for lack of something to read. I had promised myself I wouldn't read it again 'till it was done, but I gave in with the supposed next book being the last.

When I first picked it up the series was at Path of Daggers. I read through that just in time to catch Winter's Heart, but then I had to wait so long for CoT that I ended up reading through the whole series again a few months before CoT. Then, when I bought CoT I just didn't get into it. I actually only read about 200 pages and put the book aside, which isn't like me even on average books.

Anyway, I've heard KoD was a lot better, so I'm looking forward to that one. Currently I've just completed The Great Hunt. It's definitely a series that is much better on the re-read since there are so many plots that take several books to unfold and the second (or third, for me) time through you can pick them up earlier in the story.

Curubethion
07-28-2006, 01:45 PM
Hey, good luck! It's definitely worth re-reading! I'll have to get around to doing that...

KoD is definitely much better. CoT is mainly setup, so if you can get through that, you'll be great. Although I did get lost in some parts...I just tend to skim those. ;)

Acally: Well, I'm not saying anything about that comment...it may or may not be a hint... :p

Here's a great link I found on Wotmania.com: Princess Bride and WoT!

But there's a Winter's Heart Spoiler in it.

Beren3000

I was actually getting kinda sick of that whole plot.
Seriously? I loved that plot; it was one of the things that made book 10 berarable to me!

Curubethion
08-02-2006, 06:20 PM
I dunno. It got a bit tiresome, because he didn't really want her back for anyone other than himself. A bit selfish, if you ask me. And repeated over four or five books...

Beren3000
08-03-2006, 05:21 PM
because he didn't really want her back for anyone other than himself
I think that's arguable: he was also rescuing Morgase and that-other-queen-whose-name-I-forgot. Yes, at the end of the day he was only doing this for Faile, but you have to excuse him. Besides, I thought this whole quest gave his character an interesting new dimension.

Curubethion
08-03-2006, 11:34 PM
Yeah. I still think he's a really cool character, simply because of his wolf-ness. I mean, how cool is it that he can talk with wolves?

I love it. I think the evil smilie from Atharon would work perfect for the Black Sisters.
Yet another surprise:If Targine(sp) was the wetlander Maiden of the Spear that was Rand's mother that would make Galad his halfbrother. Now what would he say about his half sister being in love with his half brother and his half brother being The Dragon Reborn. Lot of stuff for a Whitecloak to think on, huh? Interesting

Wow, I am getting to be obsessed with WoT. Just the other day, I found out one of my friends was going to tell a teacher that he had dropped their class (he reads WoT too, by the way). So I promptly spit out, "Duty is heavier than a mountain, death lighter than a feather." :D

Curubethion
08-23-2006, 07:39 PM
Now that would be fun, wouldn't it?
KoD Spoiler:But obviously, it couldn't happen, since we now know that M is captured by the 'Finns, and therefore unable to do anything. My original idea: Lanfear, since she had the obvious motive of Asmo the weakling, therefore he should die. And she might have commissioned someone like Slayer to ditch Asmo.

brownjenkins
08-24-2006, 01:37 PM
Morraine is an interesting suspect, but there is nothing that changed about Asmo before and after her disappearance to want him dead all of the sudden. She knew who Jasin was for a good bit and if she wanted him dead, why not do it before her disappearance, which she knew was going to happen soon.

Lanfear doesn't make sense either. Even if you assume she could somehow have gotten word to Slayer or something, it was Rand she really wanted dead at that point, not Asmo. If she was going to try and kill someone, it would be him first.

My original guess was Sammael, Graendal or Mazim Taim. But Sammael is basically disproven in LoC when he says he doesn't know if Asmo is dead or not and MT has no motive or means of recognition other than an order from Demandred (who may be his "employer"), but D doesn't know Asmo is dead in LoC.

For a bit I mused over one of the "good guys" killing him. Like maybe Aveindha per order of the Wise Ones. There is enough hinting in FoH to assume that she or they may have figured out who Jasin really was.

But after reading it this time, I'm back to Graendal. A few chapters into LoC she thinks about her visit to the Dark One and being almost promised as Nae'blis. This means that she must have done something to please the DO. And since she really hasn't done much at that point at all, killing Asmo is as good a guess as any.

I got another one now: Based on the fact the Mat thinks she is the most beautiful woman he has ever met (sound familier?), I think Halima is really Lanfear.

It's a bit more complicated than that. RJ likes to throw in quite a few "most beautiful women". :D

In theory, you should be able to identify Halima once she tells Delana her real name, but that assumes you figured out who the two were back in the LoC Prologue, which is no easy task. But more hints do crop up as you read on.

Oh, that one...my, that is a fun plot thread.

BTW, what is the consensus on the prophecy that Mat got from the Eelfinn (or was it the Aelfinn?): "To die and live again..." Was it fulfilled in Rhuidean? There's just part of me that doesn't really think so...and of course, it might have also referred to that little ending on FoH.

I think it was the Aelfinn. Well he did die both times, and Rand brought him back both times. What was the other one beside his marrage to the Daughter of the Nine Moons?

A little birdy gave me a hint that Halima is not who I thought. Also saidin kinda gave it away. and no, he is not a mooter.

Beren3000
09-13-2006, 10:44 AM
The third one was (IIRC) "To give up half the light of the world to save the world" I always thought this had something to do with Min's viewing about "the eyeball in the scales" (because half the light of the world could be one eye)

Curubethion
09-13-2006, 11:17 PM
Ah, yes, right. Now that makes me wonder...

It's obviously a parallel to Woden, the Norse chief god-who was also associated with ravens. Anyway, he gave up one of his eyes to drink from the Well of Wisdom or something like that...

I can't help but wonder...
Is it related at all to the Tower of Ghenjai?

Curubethion

I'm fairly certain the two names are interchangeable...anyway, Jordan makes a few parallels to everything. LOTR, Norse and Eastern mythology, Buddhism, medieval Europe, the Arthur legends...even Greek mythology!

You're wondering what the heck WoT has to do with the Greeks, right? It's simple: Hecate, goddess of sorcery and whatnot, is associated with the hellhounds that haunt a crossroads at twilight.

I think you learn more about him later in the book. If you want some specifics on him now...
He's what they call a gholam. Basically, it's a creature designed to kill Aes Sedai. It can't be touched by channeling, and is incredibly flexible and strong. It can squeeze under doors and through holes, and is able to rip someone's head off with its bare hands. Remember poor Harid Fel in his study?

It's not 100% clear and I'll avoid any real spoilers with speculation, but I think the point is that:

a) Min accepts Morriane as dead after going through the doorway.

and

b) She has had a viewing about her that hadn't come true.

So, either the viewing was wrong, or...

That said, I just started Knife of Dreams and enjoyed the first scene with Galad a lot. I was wondering if that angle would ever be addressed. Good to see.

Hey, congrats on making it through CoT! We should seriously make a T-shirt: "I survived CoT". KoD is really much better. I also loved Embers Falling on Dry Grass...that was a really cool scene. You also get one of the best and biggest fantasy battles I've seen in a while.

For some reason I'm starting to think Sheram(sp), the Keeper, is a Darkfriend Of course I could be wrong. *shrugs*
What is it with me and trying to figure out who's a Darkfriend?
Of course, I'm sure one of the Forsaken is among the Black Tower

I'm almost finished with PoD. Only 12 chapters left. Is it me or is this book short, chapterwise?

Robert Jordan milked this substandard tale far too long.

I am sorry the guy has a terminal disease, it is terrible to hear.

This while thing could have been wrapped up in three or four volumes. Jordan flogging the dead horse over and over and over just left me flat. I can't even prise open the pocketbook for Knife of Dreams in paperback.

I abandoned this tale far past the point that my interest waned. The series started off well, if slowly, and I was buying and devouring the first few in pretty quick order. However, the whole story started falling apart, and the hundreds and thousands and tens of thousands of pages of complete literary dreck I have endured since the point of not caring, just holding on to the hope that it would get interesting again, was just me as Don Quixote tilting at windmills.

Jordan is pretty much like a lot of the fantasy I try to read these days. Too long, too dull, and far too enraptured with its own words. I would never recommend this overblown attempt at storytelling even to a person enduring a life sentence in prison. Even there, one would think there would be better uses of a person's time.

Not entirely, I've made myself a rule not to read series that haven't ended yet. (I very much dislike having to wait a year if not more, for the next installment while I probably don't remember half of what passed before by then.)

So I haven't read anything of the series yet. It's my dad who reads them, so we tend to buy the books for his birthdays and other gift-giving days. So I'm not a sheep, but more a shepherd for taking care of a sheep. :p

The only thing awesome about this book was that it finally arrived. Sanderson made Mat sound like a serious tool-container.

Tessar
11-23-2009, 01:21 AM
I've always though of Mat as being a bit of a tool :p. I mean from the very start I was 'meh' about Mat... I mean from the very beginning he was complaining, then he was always getting in trouble, then he was greedy and stole the dagger from Shadar Logoth and that just spun out into a world of trouble, then he was a dumbass and almost got himself killed by going through the second archway and getting himself hung by the aelfin or eelfin or whatever they were... Then he's always a 'player' with the ladies, and he's Tylen's boy-toy for a while, and etc.... I've never been a huge Mat fan, although I've never particularly 'hated' his scenes either.

Hmmm, I don't personally agree with that statement. I did enjoy Robert Jordan's writing style, I think the only problem is that it all dragged out too long.

I will certainly agree that Sanderson is a fantastic writer though :).

The prologue of the next book has recently been released, I didn't download it, but I shamefully looked at a fan site's discussion thread. Intriguing... There is a major, major (major major?) spoiler to be found if anyone reading this thread is tempted themselves to have a look

There is also appears a well connected mega fan who has been entrusted with a read of the entire book and his review is expected to be up soon. His review of the last book came out months before it's official release, although obviously it's entirely spoiler free.

My expectations are mixed. It appears that the major plot lines and characters are taking a back seat (I'm basing this judgement on nothing but the released synopsis) and the dreadfully dull characters such as Morgase and Elayne are revived with their torturous narratives to be resolved. I can only hope they are dealt with in a perfunctory fashion.

Whelp. Wheel of Time is over.

The final book left me with an enormous feeling of WTF, SANDERSON!? but... meh. Just left me feeling really down about the characters who ended up biting it in the end, and I was so disappointed in how they handled the ending of Rand's story... plus confused.

Some good writing, but I could've done without the whole thing just being one enormous, drawn out battle scene.

Still probably the most influential fantasy series for my life growing up, but I found the ending disappointing in a lot of ways.

Earniel
04-11-2015, 08:59 AM
My dad didn't particularly liked the ending much either. But if that's the one Jordan had planned, well, not much to do about it.

At least, now that it's finished, I can start reading. (I dislike reading unfinished series and so prefer to wait them out.)

Tessar
04-12-2015, 04:36 PM
I loved this series so much, and the ending just makes me want to kick someone in the no-nos. :p

Still... outside of the ending I do love the series. I would highly recommend reading.

Earniel
04-15-2015, 04:30 PM
I think I will, once I've cleared my bedside table from the other books. It's a flimsy table, so I don't think it can support one of those big honking Wheel of Time volumes with any other books there!

Would you recommend to start at the first part or read the prequel first?

Tessar
04-15-2015, 04:51 PM
Start at book 1. I never found the prequel to be engaging, and in fact I don't believe he ever "finished" it... I think it was supposed to be a prequel trilogy? Anyways... read that after all the other books, IMO. It spoils the character Moraine if you read it first, I feel. Sort of like if you got a glimpse of Gandalf as a pimple faced teenager before you read The Hobbit... mystique ruined. Lol

Earniel
04-21-2015, 03:21 PM
That indeed doesn't sound too appealing to start the series with... :glance: Book one it is, then!

10-20-2015, 11:25 PM
I've just started this series. My boss cannot extol the praises of Brandon Sanderson, and I'm super intrigued to read his books, but of course I can't start with Book 11 or whichever one he started writing. I like it, but with a full-time job, a baby and a husband (not to mention the Internet, a smartphone and Netflix) I rarely find time to read.

That does sadden me, but I like the book so far. I'm only like 100 pages in or so.
