Quite good, I must say.

I happened to pick them up last summer while visiting the relatives. I spent a couple days reading through them and was very impressed. Lawhead is certainly an excellent author, and some of the plot developments struck me out of the blue- such as Lewis eventually having kill Simon. Although, granted, when the book's called "the Silver Hand" and starts off with the protagonist losing his hand... well, it doesn't take much to see the consclusion. ;)

I read all three a long time ago, and I don't remember them very well. One thing I do remember is I never liked Simon, even in the first book. How can you like him Hector? He's terrible and evil, and almost destroys Albion!

well nirv...you have to realize that I'm only about 100 pages into the book...:o . I havent had time to get back to it either...:D

I thought Simon's ranting and raving in the first one was really funny. :pHe seemed smarter than Lewis back then. Lewis annoyed because he was sorta boring and didn't seem to care or understand much about anything.

The character development of Lewis is really interesting and well-done.

Actually Simon's character development is really interesting too, though it's more Simon being in the right time and place to exploit people and resources because he's inherently selfish and doesn't care for other people.

Attention: more of you may see these rather rare books around, thanks to the fact of them being reissued to coincide with the release of Lawhead's latest "Hood" (Robin, not gangster rappers ;) :p )

I love Stephen Lawhead! I just finished the silver hand for the second time. His books are absolutely amazing. I have read a few other of his books and they're all very good but the Song of Albion is by far my favorite. Simon is awesome (love to hate him) Lawhead does a great job of changing his characters but never realy losing their original personality

Indeed, I think Simon is one of the best bad guys in memory...I was profoundly shocked by the ending. :)

(The following is a Spoiler for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows.)

The scene where Harry allows Voldemort to kill him, than goes to that in between sort of place where he talks to Dumbledore was a lot like Llew's death in Albion.
