Nice post Falagar! If I could die and know that I had left a work that would give countless generations inspiration and enchantment, I would die a happy man. Thank you JRR.

I can't believe Mr. Tolkien has been dead for twice as long as I've been alive.
If I ever meet him in Heaven, I will say Mae Govannen.
Rest In Peace. *starts to chant in High Elvish*

I think he's in a better place. A place I hope to end up at, called Middle-earth (aka) Heaven.

Thanks for the beautiful world JRR.

I have no words to adequately express what the world has lost in Tolkien's death.

*imagines Tolkien strolling through the Shire with a pipe in his hand*

Yes, I believed he would have loved that.

I can't even begin to say how much Tolkien's works mean to me. Rest in peace, Ronald.

I remember well when he died. Can't believe it's 30 years though. He did bring me a great deal of personal pleasure and I have now been able to pass that torch on to my son.

Still round the corner there may wait,
A new road or a secret gate,
And though I oft have passed them by,
A day will come at last when I
Shall take the paths that run
West of the moon, east of the sun - J.R.R. Tolkien

Rest in Peace.:(
If you think about it Tolkien was sort of "the lord of the rings"

According to Lin Carter in "Imaginary Worlds," we should refer to Professor Tolkien as "Sir John," since he received a C.B. E. (Commander of the Order of the British Empire) in '72. He and Haggard are the only fantasy writers of modern times to receive a knighthood.(Carter said in '73 -- there may be more now).

I read a little bio that said he was one step lower than knighthood.
