It seems to me that Mr. Weasley likes his job too much to want to give it up. I mean he may be a bit careless with waht he does with muggle artifacts but hey he loves it. But then again it would be funny to see him get Ministry and rub in Malfoy's face.:D

Fudge is kind of a nut case yes, but it's only because as it says in OotP that he thought Dumbledore might take the job, but his mind then goes corrupt and Fudge thinks that he is better than Dumbledore. So Fudge will probably disappear eventually because JKR has made him hate-able.

Anyway, Fudge'll probably die somewhere along the line and Mr. Weasley will become Minister for Magic.

Eesh! He's to dumb to be a or a former Death Eater! Besides if he was he would have done something about Harry before Umbridge or told her to do something. If he was a Death Eater then there would have been a whole lot more hinting and dark dangerous foreshadowing in earlier books. The world is not divided into good people and Death Easters.

Nah, not Fudge. He is too dumb and probably to big a wimp to stay alive if he was a death eater. I mean he had a load of chances to kill Harry and make sure the ministry would not bother him but he did not. I mean he did neglect Voldy after so many years if he was a death eater and would have been dead by now.

though I do think Percy may become a death eater because he is so power hungry and always wants to be top notch.

You guys are right... Fudge isn't nearly smart enough to be a Death Eater. He is a git, but he wasn't always a bad guy. Just a very close-minded, incompetent, sad excuse for a Minister who became overly attached to his job.

I don't think Mr. Weasley could ever be the Minister of Magic. He likes his job - or would if he was given a nicer office and better funding! - and he's not a high-functioning leader. I do hope he gets a payraise before the end of the series, though. He certainly deserves it.

I was thinking about impeachment... and then wondering how the Minister for Magic is chosen. There's no sign of him being elected, is there? No one says "Fudge is an idiot, glad I never voted for him", for example. If he's not elected, he must be appointed, but by who? There's no President or other Head of State. Any ideas?

Maybe the British Queen is aware of the magical world and picks the Minister :D
