This is a series of mine that I have yet finished writing, It's got four books to it, and I'm only just finishing the third one. I hope one day to get it published, and become a famous Author. But then again, many people do, do they not?

Indeed, many do think it of themselves that they might write some few lines and there by become known over the many lands!
But then again, who's to say ya can't? ;)

If I were you I would go ahead and send the first one into a publisher now. A friend of mine did the series thing where he wrote the books first (it was 6 I think) then sent them in to a publisher. After 3 years of wirting all his books he sent all of them into a publisher at once they sent it back a week later saying they didn't like reading in bulk os something like that. He's been sending stuff off now for a...year I think and still hasn't gotten a yes w'll publish them yet.

Yes, it is conventional to send only the first manuscript, and pitch it as a series in your query letter. If the first one is a hit with the publishing house, it's perhaps even easier to get a series published because it means continued revenue generation.
Of course, the work has to be of publishable quality first.

I think that it's also generally accepted that you send a query letter and a section (usually a chapter) of the manuscript, and wait for them to say if they want to review the full thing; not sure about that, though.
