I was just wondering, is anyone planning to sign up to be one of the extras for the Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire movie?
I'm still debating with myself whether I should or not.

Well, it's being filmed in Hertfordshire in England, and all you have to do is send a letter (or resume, whatever) to the casting department. But you can't sned anything before January 2004, or they won't read it. It's simple really. The adress to send it to is :
Casting Office
Leavesden Studios
PO Box 322
Watford
Hertfordshire

so I take it you have to be an actor/actress to just be an extra? that would be sooo cool if I were an actress....*sigh* alas, I am not

I'm not really one either, and all you have to do to be an extra is just...well...be there! So it doesnt matter if ur an actress or not. :D

have you ever done extra work, because i have, and its horrible. Most likely you will e stuck in a tent outside, or a small room inside with about 50 to 75 other people. It will either be really cold or very hot. You will be there for 8 to 10 hours, be in 1 scene that will end up being cut out. In the end you will have made less then $100, wich, if you live in the USA, wont even cover the plane ticket.
(i am just saying the bad stuff, sometimes it can be could, but not often)

I want to do this. I have been looking for opportunities round here to land spots as an extra, and being in an HP movie is my sister's ultimate goal in life  But do people who live out of england have a chance too?

I'm really not sure, but why not try it anyway, even if you don't? :)
I don't live in England, but heck, I'm trying anyway. :)

I was used as an extra in the Chamber of Secrets movie. We spent most of the morning in a big tent just chatting and everything - it was very cold. People were breathing that misty stuff. Then we got to go and get changed into the Hogwarts uniform - which was very nice and warm. The winter cloaks are amazing. We had several hours of filming pretty much the same scene, (which involved lots of elbows - one world: Slytherins), and then we got to go home. I got paid around £10 for costume fitting and £75 for the days filming, but they made a mistake and sent me £150 instead of £85. Which wasn't bad considering the scene wasn't even used. But then again it may be used for a later film as it was a pretty ambigious shot. It was fun though!

What were you doing in the scene? Shouldn't happen to be in the cut-scenes on the DVD? :)

No I checked - well it changed half way through. At one point the Slytherins were right at the bottom of the courtyard by the archway and for the second half they were walking away from the camera - this is the scene where we had to cut across them - meaning that I got a couple of Slytherins elbows in my face etc.
I was a Hufflepuff! ;)

Yeah it was okay. Like I said it was freezing and it wouldn't have been half as fun without my mates. But then it was a job, I got paid, thats the main thing.
