It was said in the newspaper today that Annie Lennox is doing music for RotK. Can anyone confirm this? The journalist managed to say the premiere of RotK is to be in August  which leaves me in doubt about the accuracy of the Lennox thing. I hope it's right though, Annie Lennox' voice is so beautiful. :)

I also have heard this from TheOneRing.net. They have this (http://www.abc.net.au/enoughrope/stories/s906723.htm) link up, which is an interview with Annie Lennox. Near the end she briefly states that she will be singing for the RotK soundtrack.

I heard that it is so but that nobody from New Line has confirmed it yet.

This is one of those threads that make me go, Annie Lennox? Eurythmics? Who?

IP, Eurythmics was a pop group consisting of Annie Lennox and Dave Stewart. They were popular before and around the time you were born, iirc. AL had a 'tough woman' image. She was once a kind of a role model to me. :) I still like their music. Doesn't 'There must be an angel', 'Sisters are doing it for themselves', 'Would I lie to you' ring any bells?

This is so strange! I hadn't listened to my old Eurythmics "Sweet Dreams" tape in so long, and I happened to listen to it earlier this month. Now this announcement -- odd!
Sweet Dreams (Are Made of This) (released in 1983) was their biggest hit, but my favorites on that one are "I've Got an Angel" and "This City Never Sleeps." Those really highlight her beautiful voice. I say good choice.:)
(The songs Artanis listed are on subsequent releases).

sheeana you should have kept your other avatar. it really matched the attitude you carry. that "matter of fact\i know what you dont and even if you do know what i know, i'm still better than you" attitude.

And you think Patrick Troughton from Doctor Who doesn't convey that? :p
