Has anyone here seen this movie? Just curious because I was thinking about going to see it and want to know if it's any good.

I really want to see it. Do you know what it's about? I think it's about different literary characters, but I'm not sure. The previews look interesting, though.

I think it's based on a comic book about various Victorian-era heroes fighting evil. There's Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, Captain Nemo, the Invisible Man, and others along that line.

im definetly gonna see it because sean connery is my fav actor and has always given a great performance. and it does look pretty interesting even though it got average reviews. supposedly sean connery and the director almost got into a fight and they hated each other throughout the movie

I think the other two were Dorian Gray and Dracula's bride...:)

Sean Connery is the best! I would go see this movie if for nothing else than just because he is in it, but it looks interesting too and I think it will be really good.

The movie's getting critically panned, which makes me hesitant to pay full price for it - I might catch a matinee - but I do have some moderate interest in the concept, so if I end up seeing it I'll post a full review.

I saw it last week. It wasn't atrocious, but it really wasn't very good. Full review here. (http://www.ualberta.ca/~ntam/2003_07_01_archive.html#105837377727182144) Excerpt:

The League wants to be campy fun at every turn, but ends up as merely campy. The fight sequences are for the most part choppily edited; one early conflict switches characters and fights every second, moving from close-up to close-up, lacking any degree of continuity. The way these battles were staged, they must have looked really good live on set; however, they are muffled by poor editorial choices rather than amplified, as they should be.
...
For The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, the nail in the coffin is that it is not even a whole lot of fun. It's a bad movie, but not quite farcical enough in its badness to merit watching in a Mystery Science Theater 3000 way, or disastrous enough to leave permanent and visible scars to show your friends afterwards, Ã* la 1998's The Avengers. It fails because it is the worst kind of disappointment: one with tremendous promise. Even the League of Nations was a greater success.
