I've been hearing that a lot of people hate Han Solo. Apparently he's an aroogant, boastful jerk. Well, he is, but I think he's a likeable character. His personality is what makes him cool. Plus, some of what he says is only for fun, not for show (if you get me).

What do you think of the now-controversial character of Han Solo?

Everybody hates everybody! :rolleyes: I like Han Solo...he wasn't *Boring*, or overly *heavy*, like some of the newer characters. He was funny too. Han Solo was macho/human. They need more Harrison Ford/Han Solo types! The part where he shoots Guido is great! :D

I like Han; not as much as some other characters, such as Leia (royalty rules! ;)) and Obi-Wan Kenobi (old bearded wizard dude! :p), but he's a great character.

Lizra, I'm not sure...do you mean Greedo, the Rodian (green guy with tube mouth)? :confused:

Hmmm , What do I mean? ;) :rolleyes: Actually it's that snork nose bounty hunter thing that tries to kill him "for" Guido/ greedo...whoever :D. You know, the first scene in the bar! Unslick and very enjoyable!

He is pretty arrogant. but i guess he is pretty cool

i like him. i geuss his arrogance is his way not to show his weaknesses. but he is a likeable character and plus he is friends with chewie the oversized deformed bear

It doesn't matter if he is arrogant or not, cus in the end he fullfills most of his boasts and "fantasies" anyway. He gets toe hot chik of the movies after all . . .

Han Solo is my favorite character. He's funny and a lot of the time almost spiteful. Besides in A New Hope it is Leia who is the more annoying of the two.

But either way I don't think she was annoying. Han Solo was being an ass, and as a high class princess she didn't like it, but she wasn't half as annoying as Han. If she was, she'd be cooler, but the SW feel would be altered ("I have felt a great disturbance in the force... Leia is cool.") The characters were done just perfectly.

Han Solo is da man. Sure, he's arrogant and cocky as 'ell, but that's what makes him such a good character. ;)

Han solo is my fav and the most interesting of all the carachters in my opinion. He IS NOT arrogant! he is sarcastic, witty, and the one who gets them out of trouble most of the time even if he's the one who put them in it. Overall he is a hero.

Witty?? What?! No way! I like Han, but he's not witty. He's a macho doofus. Han is probably my fave after Leia, however I really don't like the macho types that much.

Since when do people hate Han Solo?!! How is it even possible to hate him and still like Star Wars? Perhaps the newer generation of fans just don't get him. Perhaps those that dislike him are the type that prefer Jar Jar. How else would you explain it?! :p

i used to like jar jar when i first saw the movie buti was like11 then and i recently watched all the star wars and i hate jar jars lines and the way he talks. although the part when he gets the gun stuck on his foot and shoots everyone is pretty funny:D

it applies to both of you and the whole thread in general which is why I didn't quote anything. A lot of people don't like him because he is arrogant. But that's hardly a flaw when it seems that he makes good on most of his promises in the end. Which is what you seem to suggest, ben. I'm agreein' with ya ;)

I thought JarJar was funny when I first watched the movie. :rolleyes: But that was before I knew that putting a character as cheesy as he is completely ruins the atmosphere of the movies. Ok..what are we talking about? Oh yeah..Han Solo..My favorite character:) Love the guy. Absolutely hilarious. The way he says things....he's great. He's cocky, yes. But what the heck would starwars be without him and chewie?

Han Solo was an amazing character. He and Chewie added so much to the movies, without them the movies would've been much worse. Han Solo is definetly one of my favourite characters, behind Chewie and Obi-Wan.

How can anyone hate Han Solo? :eek: He's not an arrogant, boastful jerk! He's just cocky. And sarcastic. Not to mention one of the best acted characters in the trilogy!

I absolutely despise Jar Jar. He's soooo obnoxious.

Han Solo rocks! He's definitely my favorite character. So what if he's cocky and sarcastic, that's what makes him cool. :D The movies would have been boring without him. ;)

The one in Pip's sig, "Laugh it up fur ball." :D

The best one of all is in The Empire Strikes Back when he's about to be carbon froze and Leia says "I love you" and indtead of saying it back he just says "I know." How cool is that? :cool:

I did not know Harrison Ford came up with that line. It's the best one in the whole original trilogy, IMHO :D.

Solo is a great character because there's so much more to him than what you see on the surface.

How about a block of carbonite? ;) Then you can have him for any future movies and not worry about him forgeting his lines. ;)

I think Han Solo is one of the better characters in SW.

A maverick and a real good guy under the crusty exterior.
