Well I finally finished Miguel de Cervantes' Don Quixote (the Tobias Smollett translation), and I must say, this is one of the best literary experiences I've had. I was hooked, even though it took me such a ridiculously long time to complete it.

I'm sure I'm not the only one here who's read it, and there's just so much depth to it - so many things to discuss - that naturally, it's worth a thread of its own.

If you haven't read it, you must. Especially considering the Entmoot demographic you comprise (largely fantasy fans).

I've read it too, and I agree- it was a wonderful experience. It was a surprising book, actually; I expected to be interesting, but overall serious, and it was extremely funny.

I also had the luck of reading it in Spanish (it's my first language) and I must say it's great.

If you haven't read it, by all means do! It's worth the effort. :)

I agree. It's a wise, wise book. As IP said, there is so much depth in it... but you don't realized that till you're far into its pages because it's so much funny at the same time. :)

Don Quijote (let me name him by his spanish name) and Sancho are two of the greatest and more original characters of the history of Literature.

I have had this book sitting on my living room table for months, I must get started. It's quite a doorstop though, even when you've read Tolkein.

Oh, it takes forever to read, but it's well worth your time.

I've loved "tilting at windmills" all my life thanks to this book.;)

I need to read Don Quixote. I've seen the musical, and have the soundtrack. So I know the basic storyline (and all the songs!).

To dream...the impossible dream.

Its one of the recent books I've bought, and I'm on page 100 exactly.
