Anyone else play this? Interplay came out with LotR game a few years ago, supposed to be the first in a three-part series. I loved it! A bulletin board on Prodigy with posts about that became my first online "home." Its sequel, The Two Towers, did come out and was just as good, but the third one never came out! :( I'll post some screenshots later today.

I saw the old Super NES LotR game, but I never played it. Don't know about any of the other Interplay LotR games.

Well, the first game is on a CD and refuses to work anyway, so I could only get a pic from The Two Towers. Lots of difficulty getting it to work, and my saved games were wiped, so I got a screenshot from the beginning of the game. Not the best, but it shows you what it's like :) <img src=http://www.geocities.com/bmilder.geo/images/gimli.gif> The scene is where Gimli, Legolas, and Aragorn must fight some Orcs. You can see Gimli's axe heading toward an Orc.

the snes and the computer games were both made by interplay, but they are completely different for some reason.

I got both the games on CD for christmas quite a while ago. I really wanted the special edition that included cutscenes from the animated movie, but such is life.
Personnally, I think all the side quests and plot changes (especially the end) for sake of something to do really queered up the story, but it was an OK game in it's time. The two towers was about the same. The graphics were...acceptable.
I read somewhere that Return of the King was turned into some other action game and the project was abandoned. I rather wonder what we'll see with the new movies in the way of games. A mindless PS2 action game? I hope not.

Ha! My version had the animated cutscenes! ;) The ending of the first game was odd, having to rescue Frodo from Dol Guldur, but games do need to have to have an exciting way to end the game, and just showing boats go down a river wouldn't have done it. ;)
Any LotR-related game would fun. I suspect there will be a whole host of games, mindless PS2 games included :p . (But those can be fun too! :D )
