Who'd you like to see sing? I'd pay BIG MONEY to see Sauron, an orc, or Saruman sing!!!!

You'd like to see an orc sing. And then die?

In reality, I won't see it, but I'm stil curious to hear Saruman sing. Since he had the most awesome, deep, commanding voice in the world and all. But I wonder what he'd sing...

Hahaha... now I have a funny picture in my head.

elves suck at singing. the only really good singers are dwarves of course. its natural to them:p

Gimli and Gloin! Father-son duet in Rivendell!

Maybe Bilbo and Gloin have a duet.

Or the dead dwarves in Moria...

I wanna see the hobbits doing a barbershop quartet, with striped suits and straw boaters and everything!;)

And of course, Gandalf's dramatic solo whilst stuck on a roof and the reprise whilst falling off a bridge:p :D

Gimli and Elrond should be pretty bizarre. I bet they'd mess up Elrond so much.

I'd like to see Frodo sing or Aragorn and Arwen do a duet together.

I have to admit that I am fascinated by this thread. I understand that much of it is tonge in cheek (or I assume so). I guess my question to those who say they would like to "see" or hear Sauron sing would be..."Sing what?" Generally, songs in a musical are best sung by characters with something to say. As Sauron says nothing in LotR, I am curious what his song would be about. As for Saruman, he could have an interesting expository solo. However, in my version of the musical the character of Saruman does not appear on stage.

As for a duet between Aragorn and Arwen, I am not sure that one would want to give that relationship which is tenuous at best the prominence that a major duet would convey within the context of a three hour musical. A duet, imho, between Faramir and Eowyn makes much more sense as that is a relationship that comes to fruition within the original source material.

Of course, if someone writes a musical based on the appendicese of LotR a duet between Aragorn and Arwen makes a great deal of sense.

The characters that must sing are Frodo, Sam, Gandalf, Aragorn, Boromir, Faramir, Eowyn, Theoden and Denethor. I am certain I am forgetting at least one but that is a start...

I'd like to hear Aragorn and Legolas sing the lament for Boromir, because that song is beautiful.
I don't understand why everyone's so mean to the idea of a LotR musical...I think it'd be very cool...well, I guess it would be kind of weird, but if done right, it has awesome potential.
