This is a thread dedicated to Farley Mowat (duh). For those of you who don't know, Farley Mowat was born in Canada and writes real-life adventure books (what I mean is there is nothing like dragons and temples and things like that, but people surviving in the wilderness and stuff) He travelled all over Canada and uses those experiences to write his books (they feature different characters though) I find them to be very entertaining and would like to know who else has read any of his works.
So far, I have read Owls in the Family and Lost in the Barrens, and am working on reading The Black Joke. I also own The Great Canadian Wilderness book (or something like that).

Never read any of his books, but I plan to, now. I do remember seeing a movie called "Never Cry Wolf" I think, that shows him researching wolves and their place in the ecosystem of the North. Favorite scene: in the movie it turns out that their diet mostly consists of mice, which Mowat (in the interest of science) proceeds to hunt and eat.:D

He's always done things like that. I guess, if you want to write about stuff like that you might as well try doing it yourself. :D

When I was a kid I used to love a book of his-it was about a kid from Saskatoon and his favorite dog Mutt.

I think you're talking about Owls in the Family.
