Shield Surfing?

I found the movie very exciting as far as the action sequences go. I did enjoy most of the battle at Helms Deep, with the exception of some "errors", and I agree that Gandalf was very well played in the movie. The one thing that bothered me was the death of Haldir and the way they portrayed Merry and Pippin. I do not see how they will give the full effect of their achievements in "Return of the King"
