I saw the Two Towers at least 5 times, but i'm still confused about Arwen! Is she really leaving, or will she defy her father before she reaches the Grey Havens and go to Aragorn?

We'll see in ROTK. My bet's on her not leaving, given what both the book and film have established. But it does serve as a neat little kink that makes her reunion with Aragorn just a little less predictable.

That's true..I just don't want Aragorn to go for Eowyn (despite the books)

Umm...what? Aragorn doesn't go for Eowyn in the books...

I know, thats my point...I'm hoping PJ doesn't just throw the books out the window and have Aragorn go with Eowyn.

No, cuz then Faramir and Eowyn's romance would be gone, and PJ's motto is 'The more romances the better!'

if aragorn goes for eowyn ill be so pissed off. I don't even think PJ would do that

Neither do I, the way he's been building Arwen up. But then, who knows...
Is it just me, or is Aragorn still riding Brego when he's cleaned up and Kingified? What happened to Roheryn?

No. Perhaps he might have a 'love triangle' thing going (Or love quadrilateral? ), that would make MORE romance, wouldn't it?
Would PJ go so far as to change the strory that drammatically? (Aragorn with Eowyn) If he did, my friends would never hear the end of it...

If he did, PJ would wake up dead the day after it came out.

In the original scenario, which was changed, Arwen went to Helm's Deep with Haldir's company. Several people have commented in other threads that PJ failed to erase thjis completely and that there is still a glimpse of her on horseback during one of the battle scenes. That means, doesn't it?, that the elves departing Rivendell are going to meet up with Haldir.
PJ's pattern is "things are not what they seem". Gandalf is not dead, Aragorn is not dead, Merry and Pippin are not dead, etc. However, everyone thinks they are. Likewise, he's trying to make people who never read the book think that Arwen is foresaking Aragorn. Yeah, right.
On the subject of Eowyn, in my opinion she's too awesome for PJ's two-bit imitation Faramir. Maybe after he suffers the black breath he'll change. But the fact is, he was never supposed to be an idiot in the first place.

I know what you mean. Eowyn is an awesome character, and quite well-captured indeed. The same cannot very well be said of Faramir. :(

Oh I know!! hehehehe Faramir will go to Valinor with Arwen because he isn't needed in Gondor anymore.

they could never replace the osbournes no one can
Fingolfinrox

yeah, they could replace the osbournes. I watched a parody with "ozygorn" in it. it was a riot...
but supposing Arwen is leaving for the Grey Havens, then will there be a scene when she decided not to? that could be dumb. And either way their will be a scene, probally during a battle, that she bursts into the screen on her horse, helping save the day... NO!!!

Yeah, they could throw hobbits at the neighbors who stay up all night singing the Lay of Leithien.

Maybe PJ will lead everyone to think that Arwen has left, then bring her back just in time to break up Eowyn and Aragorn's wedding.

Well, I saw it three times. If you think about the scene, it shows Elrond watching her walk away with the other Elves. This leads me to believe that what we were seeing is Elrond's thoughts, not an actual happening.

I didn't think Arwen was on her way to the Grey Havens. I kept going back to that scene in "The Felllowship of the Ring", where Aragorn and Arwen exchange that 'look' before he departs with the Fellowship from Rivendell. In "The Two Towers", it is shown that the reason for that look is because Aragorn, with a nudge from Elrond, tells Arwen to go sail away. (I apologize for not having exact quotes.)
In "The Two Towers", I notice as Arwen is leaving, that she exchanges another 'look' with Elrond. So, I think, in "The Return of the King", that look may be explained through a flashback or as a statement from Arwen to Aragorn that she tells Elrond she loves her father but chooses Aragorn and when she is leaving Rivendell she is really not going to the Grey Havens but is on her way to meet up with Aragorn.
This is just my opinion. I could be waaay off base because I don't really know what Peter Jackson is doing.

Well, you know some may not believe that PJ loved the books. I have no doubt that he did. He took on a task that was sure to please many (non-book fans) and sure to anger or annoy others (book fans) However, putting a book like this upon the silver screen has to be an endeavor that required the utmost thought and decision making. I think PJ knew that he was not going to be able to be 100% true to the books, but he knew that he had to stay as close as he could and at the same time appeal to the general public [non-book readers} and let's face it people, the books are not always exciting. If he had stayed true to the books we would have had to sit through at least one hour of bordom out of the three. I wasn't disappointed in the movies, because I didn't go to the movies expecting it to be Lord of the Rings brought to life from my imagination.

I don't really view The Lord of the Rings movies as being from the books. I view them as being separate entities. I know the movies won't be how I personally imagine it to be but I have come to view the movies as a game. For example, this thread asks about Arwen and her destination upon leaving Rivendell. I know what happens to Aragorn and Arwen in the books but I try to speculate how Peter Jackson will also get there, if at all. Sometimes what happens makes sense and sometimes not so much sense is made. For my peace of mind, I really try to keep the two (books and movie) separate because when I start comparing them I get all raging and crazy and my friends end up pointing at me and laughing. :D

If she does, it would break with everything that is revealed about her character in the first two films. But I'll admit I'm heavily influenced by the book when I'm interpreting this scene.

I agree. Arwen will marry Aragorn in RotK. That's the romantic plot PJ needs in his story, I guess.

Despite Arwen's advanced age and lisp, PJ will have her act like a a TV-typical petulant girl defying her father's order to leave and arrive in Gondor after the Battle of the Pelennor Fields and before the final battle at the Gates of Mordor. She only pretended to leave with the rest of the slow-moving elves, so that Daddy wouldn't know she was sneaking out to be with her bad-boy boyfriend.
Have no fear, we will be treated to more scenes with that pitiful "actress".

Anariel: I'm guessing you haven't read the books? Arwen does have a choice, and she does choose Aragorn and mortality.
Please restrict your website to the advertising thread. But may I ask why it is called 'Mirkwood Dreams'?! Neither Arwen nor Aragorn live there.
