You like Vampire books?
Forests of the Night and Demon in My view are V.good.
So (in good spelling) what are the Chronicles about and what are they called?

The first three (the well known ones) are:
Interview with a Vampire
The Vampire Lestat (the best!!!! in my opinion)
Queen of the Dammed

the fourth is... The Tale of the Body Snatchers

and i can't spell the fifth...

but there is also The Vampire Armand.... somewhere

overrall theres about seven..... they're by Ann Rice and i totally recomend them!!!!!!!!:D

Menoch the Devil is the one yer missed out Lal-E :)

I enjoyed the first five (although interview was in a class by itself)...

Of the subsequent follow-ups I've read.........Pandora was ok

Armand was just gay porn

The rest were just money makers (very little content in them)

My fave books by Rice are The Witching Hour and Lasher......pretty grim reading (grim as in atmospheric) but good tales :)

Shouldn't that be "Memnoch"?

I've read a few. My friend is a big fan of them. I don't see the charm, personally. Can't stand her writing style. Armand was okay, tho' (gay vampiric pR0n;))

I've always wanted to read them, but everytime I found the chance I also found myself picking up another of Tolkien's books which would set off a whole chain-reading of Tolkien material that includes every Tolkien work I own. I've sworn to myself since the start of high school that I'd read them someday but I always just start reading Tolkien at the worst moments. Oddly, it never happens to any other books besides Vampire Chronicles. I've read so many other books in between, including all of the WoT series so far.

Bit of a strange one this.........but seeing as it's Anne Rice I thought I'd stick it here.

Apperently that LeStat look-a-like Sir Elton John is making a Broadway musical based on Interview With a Vamp.

Be a sorry vamp if he had teeth like Elton (http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/entertainment/showbiz/3006271.stm)

It might interest some of ya anyway :)

Interview With the Vampire was IMO a much better movie. Tom Cruise makes a much better Lestat. And the author was actually involved in the movie. I don't think Anne Rice helped work on Queen of the Damned at all . . .

i only like QotD because of stuart townstead, thoug i prefere the books, louis and lestat wen't like i pictured them..... but lestst dancing with the dead woman was hillarious best moment in both book and movie. classic!!!
i know 'interview' wasn't meant to be funny, but i was laughing all the way through.... though i could kill claudia.... what she did to lestat!!! i mean...... and that was ALOT of blood....
only made me jump a few times... and that was only when they moved fast. i love it!!! i think i might have to watch it now actually!!! just can't resist....:D

the queen of all vampires is awoken by the vampire lestat. she starts to go on a killing spree and tries to take over the world.... sort of.
somebody else should be able to eplain in alot better, i tend to leave very important things out and sometimes spoil the plot.....

Urgg....I'm editing my post cuz I was half asleep yesterday when I posted it.

I just finished reading Interview with the Vampire. I ordred The Vampire Lestat because one, he's my favorite and two I love the ending. I thought it was going to end like a cut-off point but it really excites you about reading the next book. It was all spell-binding. Another book that yet again makes you re-evaluate yourself and your values. At least with me it did. Hrm....I guess that's all I have to say so far.

Your dad has good sense, then.:) They are good, but quite graphic.

I haven't read that one, but I think the first few should be read in order. They get progressively stranger, IMO. But the one you want to read may just be his history, and might not make a difference. Then again, there is some mystery surrounding that in the first books, IIRC, so it may be fun to wait. I personally like to read things in order.
