Did anyone else see this movie or read the book? I just saw the movie with my little brother and I actually thought it was pretty good. Read the book before you see the movie. That's all I'm going to say.

So anyways, has anyone seen the movie?

From the previews it looks way different from the book. If it is as different as it looks i don't really want to see it cause it'll just make me mad.

i'm not real good at explainin' stuff but i'll try.

In the book, this kid gets sent to this boot camp type place cause they think he stole some shoes or something like that. This real mean lady runs the place and she makes everyone dig 5 feet wide, 5 feet long, 5 feet deep holes all day. she's looking for some kind of treasure and that's why she makes him dig. The camp's in the middle of a really hot nowhere.
one of our teacher's read the book to us and that was a couple years ago but i think that's about right. oh yeah and i think his family's supposed to have a curse.

I saw the previews for the movie, thought it was interesting and promptly read the book. I finished reading it today. Now all I need to do is see the movie. :p

Regarding the curse: (this is from the book, since I haven't seen the movie)
Stanley's (Caveman) dirty-rotten-pig-stealing-great-grandfather wanted to marry this girl, but he didn't have a fat pig to give her, so he went to see Madame Zeroni. She gave him a runt and told him to carry it to the top of a mountain, let it drink from a spring there, and sing to it every day for two months. At the end of two months, he was supposed to carry Madame Zeroni up to the top and let her drink from the spring. If he didn't, he'd have a curse put on him and all his descendants. Long story short, he didn't.

I've read the book, and from what I've seen it doesn't look that much like the book. I'll just wait for it to come out on video.

I've never read it, though years ago I indulged in a lot of Louis Sachar's other stuff.

My brother read it recently though, and saw it with his class on opening day, as part of a school thing.

Louis Sachar was my favorite author when i was ten. I read every one of his books and besides Where the Red Fren Grows, Holes was my favorite book. I haven't seen the movie and i don't really want to.

I have read the book and seen the movie. Not my favorite, but not bad.
