I am probably one of the youngest people to send a question to the forum, but I would like to know the specifacations of auditions of playing a Hobbit  eg Age: Hight: singing voice: etc.

Welcome to the Entmoot, Elessar! Hope you have a good time here. :)

Alas, I would be glad to help you with your question, but I fear that my knowledge of this project is extremely limited.

Hmm... perhaps they would just use taller supporting actors to make the hobbit actors look smaller?

Yah, I wonder how they will make the actors short

It just wouldn't be right to have a tall hobbit

As a very wise director friend of mine said..."Brad, you don't need actors who are short. You need actors who can act short." Also, as Elvellyn mentioned, if actors protraying other characters are tall then the hobbits and Gimli will appear short by comparison. Also, the stage will have a rather severe rake or slant from front to back so with proper staging the hobbits and gimli, staged downstage from the other actors will appear even shorter.
