Have noticed a trend in fantasy literature? I'm pretty sure it started with Tolkien. I mean we got LoTR's Ringwraiths, Harry Potter's Dementors and The Dark Materials Trilogy's Spectors.

And Sword of Shannara's Skull Bearers, and one hooded guy (don't remember his name) in the Belgariad.

Now that I think of it, this belongs in the fantasy forum.

i think it's like, you can't trust a person if they don't show their face. You can pass judgements upon a person if they have their hood down, but if it's up, you suspect that they are hiding something.

But Obi-Wan had his hood up when we first met him. Luke wears his hood up too, as did Aragorn (in the movie at least, I'm not sure about the book...I would guess so, since that's the only time his hood has anything to do with anything in the movie, so I expect they were emulating the book). Um...there's more, but I can't name them, so neh. :p
