Sorry I didn't realize that there was a movie board also. I just came here so only thought there was one board for all LotR's stuff in general. Sorry again.

Hello thanks for the compliment and so far I really like this site. I got my name from translating the meaning of my real name into elvish ( white wave ) I have this stie that makes up hobbit and elvish names for you. According to that I ma Nerwen of Dorthonion which is wierd since Ner means man....hmmm. Would you like this website. It can be alt of fun.

Refer you to the Barrow-downs? I'm a bit surprised, as I believe that 'Fanear' is actual Elvish. Beg pardon, but why do you say that 'ner' means Man?

Well I was looking up Elvish vocabulry and cam across somethat was naming the Elvish names forlike peope and sutff. and it showd that Ner meant man...barrow-downs?...Fanëar being an actual Elvish word? thats very neat. I got it by combining the two words ( white and another word thats substitute for wave I think sea ) Do you know what the possible word fanear means?

And BTW, it's Gollum, not Golem. :) Golem is a creature from Hebrew beliefs/mythology, I believe.

That song is actually an extract (if I recall correctly) of a song he sings in the books. Something like:The rock and pool
Is nice and cool
So juicy sweeeeet!
We only wish
To catch a fish
So juicy sweeeeet! If you'll pardon the extra "eeee"s there.;)
It's something along those lines, anyway.

i know the song from the book by heart, i sing it whenever im bored in my 'gollum' voice. its like this:
the cold hard lands,
they bites our hands,
they gnaws our feet.
the rocks and stones,
are like old bones,
all bare of meat.
but stream and pool,
is wet and cool,
so nice for feet.
and now we wish
(here he repeats a riddle between him and Bilbo in The Hobbit about fish 'all in mail, never clinking, etc.)
we only wish,
to catch a fish,
so juicy sweeeeeeeeet!
thats it!!! im so proud that i still remember it and didnt have to refer to my battered copy of TTT (its in 'The Passage of the Marshes' i think)

Ner means man in the sense of male, of any specie :)

Gollum: <singing> The rock and pool is nice and cool, so nice for feet! I only wish <Whacks the fish on the rock> to catch a fish <whacks>, so juicy sweet! <The fish almost wriggles out of his grasp and he whacks it some more.>

Thats the song from the script on the Council of Elrond site.

I always heard it as, "oh, how I wish to catch a fish, so juicy sweet!"

But then hearing your verses (Lanelf and Pimpernel and Firekitten) makes more sence, because I realised that Gollum wouldn't really say "I" he would most likely say "we".

i thought everyone used those when you click reply to post or whatever it says doesnt that menucome up that lets you pick sizes and colors and fonts?

Yes, as well as...um...nevermind.

But most people don't use the colors. It can tend to be distracting, and sometimes to detract from what's being said.

Nerwen was Galadriel's name given to her by her mother. She named her so, due to her height, her great strength of body and will. It means "man-maiden"....
