Did anyone else notice in the appendix, that Tolkien has the meeting of Treebeard and the start of Entmoot on impossible dates? Treebeard was on the 29th, and the Moot was on the 30th! Unless he was using the hobbit calendar, which has 30 days each month...?
Anyway, Happy birthday Entmoot!

He was using Shire reckoning for months and dates throughout the book, it says so in one of the appendices. It also says that March 25 Shire reckoning corresponds to our March 27, and if February has 30 days in the Shire calendar then Entmoot began March 2 in our reckoning.
Confusing, neh? ;)
