Let's just say that only a few people... creatures live in middle earth now. I need someone to be evil and everyone else can be whatever. So, you can travel to Mordor, Lorien, wherever.

But what is the story, you need to establish the point of this RPG. Is it just to wander around aimlessly? Or are we trying to destroy the army led by the evil person? If so then the people are so scattered that it will takes a long time to raise a good army.

My character is Fimbren the Valinorean elf.

I'll join as Tamra, a hobbit lass. She is quite opinionated, and doesn't like men. You'll learn more about her later...

Hmmm. If there can be more than one person, I'd like to join up with Fred Baggins as her second-in-command. However, if there's only supposed to be one evil character, then I shall be a good girl... ;) My good character would be Ailin, a woman. The race of men is scarce nowdays -- well, at least in the RPGs. :D

Fred Baggins
02-27-2003, 08:57 PM
*laughs evily* I shall be called Mauluk, amoung many other names. Shadow and light have joined forces, and fight for one purpose alone now. A handsome elf is no longer what he appears, Kin no more*winks at Kathie* elf never again, and life all but dead. Descrip posted as soon as I figure it out.

Alright, howabout we start our journey in Rivendell, then we can make our way to wherever we wanna go, preferably Moria, that's where the evil person lives. If we can destroy the evil person. All of Empty Middle will be saved. It's not too late to join. Also, the evil person's servants can be hiding anywhere. So, the good guys will run into them alot. Again! It's not to late to join!!!

I'm in charater now:

"Umph." I sit down on a large stone bench. A council is about to begin...

Finrod Felagund

Fimbren entered the council room where Elrond's sons, Elladan and Elrohir, and Cerleborn the wise, sat at the head of the table. Since Elrond and Galadriel had left all those years ago these three had been the leaders of Rivendell. Every once in a while, Fimbren imagined being in charge himself. He was Valinorean, he had seen the two trees, more than almost any elf left in middle earth could say. Fimbren was uneasy, for he knew that Moria was involved, and he had once been in a group trying to retake Moria (Bree to Moria RPG), which had suceed, with extremely heavy losses. The dwarves had not all returned though and evil had grown there again.

Lady_of_the_Golden_Wood
03-03-2003, 11:25 PM
Filti, gazed up at Fimbren and sighed, thinking to himself, 'How can anyone ever be so serious?' He shook himself and looked down solomnly.

I attended to the counsil, for Elladan had asked me to.Curiosity came over me,for I did not know at first the purpose of this counsil.Later it was decided that a group should try to ''bring life back to Middle-earth'',for it had been destructed after the long War of the Ring. The counsil was long, though not toilsome, yet the fresh air out of the counsil room easened my.I outstreched my arm and Aran,my hawk settled on my wrist.I went to the stables and brought Namar,my black steed. My sword was by my side and thus I waited in the gardens of Elrond's home for the rest people to come.

Lady of Rohan
03-10-2003, 12:17 PM
I came out of the stables with my horse. My horse, Lailen, was a strawberry roan. I mounted her and halted beside Enya.

ic: I started to snore, then felt someone pinch me to wake me up. I raised my head and looked around. Herman had nipped me, I put my arms around his head. He whinnied softly and nuzzled me. The council, from my point of view was very boring. Then I heard Cerleborn say my name, I immediatly perked up. The people to go on this quest were annouced, my name was among them.

Ithilwin
03-14-2003, 08:41 AM
Long it seemed, the waiting. No wonder, for all were making ready for the long journey that awaited us.I mounted Namar and he quietly bore me,until others would come.I instinctly reached for my sword and stroke Aran's chest gently. He peered the air, scanning the area with his keen eyes,looking...I heard hoofbeats behind me and a horse halted next to Namar.I turned to look upon a woman,a ranger she seemed.Strange 'twas, for women had no interest in battles and weapons and such things in Middle-earth,though in me,that was different. It was the way I was raised, loved adventure from childhood, plus an Istar I was, though the Istari were all men...Routing these thoughts from my head,I turned to the ranger and smiled, yet no word came out.

Lady_of_the_Golden_Wood
03-16-2003, 01:38 AM
I watched Enya and decided to break the silence, I clompped up on Herman and then fell back when I saw the ranger. My eyes opened wide at the thought of a woman playing with swords, but then again, I myself was no good at swordsmanship.

Ithilwin
03-16-2003, 01:06 PM
I quickly turned back hearing a noise,as if something fell on the ground;it was a hobbit.I smiled and bading Namar to go forth,I helped him(your character's a he...right?) to his horse."Be careful" I said, half smiling."What is thy name?"

Lady_of_the_Golden_Wood
03-16-2003, 01:22 PM
Filtilin, you can call me Filti. I sat up straight on Herman and grinned, that was what I was best at, I could make even the coldest person smile

Ithilwin
03-16-2003, 01:36 PM
I smiled back "Enya is my name and they are Aran, and Namar"I indroduced myself, then pointing at my hawk and horse."How come a hobbit, wishes to leave the Shire and its peace,to join this dangerous quest?" I asked him,for hobbits usually weren't fond of travels.

Lady_of_the_Golden_Wood
03-16-2003, 01:38 PM
I shrugged, "Because I have nothing else to do... Ummmm..." I broke off, for a horn rang out in the distance. Herman's head shot up from nibbling the grass. He whinnied in fear. "What was that?" I asked Enya softly.

Ithilwin
03-16-2003, 02:10 PM
Namar stayed calm at the sound of the horn."The Elves...gathering"was my only answer."We must be leaving soon,I deem"

Lady_of_the_Golden_Wood
03-16-2003, 02:58 PM
"Oh," I started to twiddle my thumbs, 'What will happen on this quest?' I thought. Enya did not look afraid. I tried to be like her.

Finrod Felagund

Fimbren was still uneasy. He knew that the numerous Balrogs which had been in Moria last time were gone, but he felat a new evil stirring in that direction.

A dark handsome elf walked through a long hall, and a hobbit girl of just 20 years, with flowing blue robes trotted to keep up with him. "You will fetch the wizard for me Faith, and above all remember what I told you. You are under my control now, I as King of this land control you, not you I. O no not any more Faith Love. Now, go fill your orders then report back to me for more. Is this compleatly understood?" When she did not answer right away she was thrown to the ground by some unseen force, and began flinching, being hit by an invisible arm, until she squeaked out an understanding. Things in her kingdom where about to change drastically.

ooc: Calien's a good gal, but warning to Faith: she's not the same as WME II Calien.

ic: "I'm going to run away today, Ellewen," Calien announced to her servant as the two stood in the stables. Calien's tone was calm, as if she'd simply told the servant that she wanted to go out riding.

"M'lady, Queen Saila told me not to let you out of my sight!" said Ellewen.

"Yes, I heard that; I think she suspects that I've been planning to leave the kingdom. I also know what would become of you once word reached her that I was missing. That's why you're coming with me."

The servant opened her mouth to protest, then closed it again. Calien wasn't nearly as ruthless as the Queen, but there were times when she could be at least as stubborn. If Calien had truly made up her mind to leave the kingdom of Thirelind, nothing short of the Queen herself would stop her. Then, too, this could be Ellewen's chance for freedom. If the escape was successful, she'd never have to fear Queen Saila again!

If it fails, I'll die.

Safer to be with Calien then back in Thirelind, though.

"All right, m'lady," Ellewen said meekly.

Calien smiled at Ellewen, trying to be reassuring. She knew the woman was doomed if they were caught, but her leaving was necessary. Calien would not leave her friend to face the Queen's wrath, but even for Ellewen's sake, she couldn't stay in Thirelind any longer. "Let's get the horses and ride out of Thirelind before she arrives."

Ellewen shuddered at the thought of the Queen finding them about to leave, and ran to get her horse, Relladren, ready.

Calien got her bay mare Anmara, who wore no saddle, then helped Ellewen saddle Relladren. The two friends mounted their horses, then rode swiftly out of the kingdom of Thirelind, never to return.

Silverstripe
03-18-2003, 03:03 PM
Both Ellewen and I were silent during the first part of our journey. Once we were beyond the borders of Thirelind, though, my fear of being discovered lessened, and I could tell that Ellewen had relaxed, too.

"M'lady, where are we going?" asked Ellewen.

I smiled. "Ellewen, we're not in Thirelind anymore. You're no longer a servant, and I'm no longer royalty. We're friends and equals now. Please, call me Calien.

"I'm sorry. But where ARE we going, P-Calien?"

"Rivendell. They will not think it strange to see an unfamiliar elf and her friend arrive there, and we'll be safe from my...the Queen," I said, remembering just in time that I shouldn't call her my grandmother. "Besides, I have kin there, though I doubt they'll remember me. In fact, I hope they don't"

Then we began to tell stories, and forgot our troubles for a time as we rode towards Rivendell. Every day of our journey, Ellewen seemed a little more at ease, and by the time we arrived in Rivendell, Ellewen was calling me Calien as though she'd been doing it all her life, and I wouldn't have dreamed of revealing the fact that Queen Saila of Thirelind was my grandmother.

We rode into Rivendell and were told that many of the elves were gathering, to form a group and restore life to Middle Earth.

They don't have a chance, I thought. None of these elves knew the power of Saila's master, Mauluk. If they tried to confront him, they would perish.

"They don't know what they're up against! I must see these elves now!"

Back in the kingdom of Thirelind, a powerful wizard named Saila screamed in rage as she discovered that her granddaughter was missing.

"Ungrateful child! I raised her, and now look! She's betrayed me!" The servants fled, fearing death, but one young hobbit lass actually came closer to the Queen. The wizard grinned -- not a reassuring expression, and the hobbit cringed. But Saila admired the foolish bravery this hobbit was displaying, and did not harm her.

"What do you want, hobbit?"

Lubyla
03-18-2003, 04:15 PM
Calien...that name sounded familiar... BLAST IT! That wretched Queen has already sent someone after me, but why should I care? I picked up my staff, and walked past Calien.

Silverstripe
03-18-2003, 04:29 PM
My eyes widened in horror as I recognized a hobbit from Thirelind. Had Saila found me? The hobbit hardly looked like someone who'd come to fetch me, but I had to know who she was. Ellewen was already telling the elf of how we had seen some of the enemy's servants in action, because we had once lived in the kingdom of Thirelind. True, though not the whole story. I left Ellewen and the elf and walked to the hobbit's side.

"You look familiar. What's your name?" I asked the hobbit. I lowered my voice to a whisper. "Did you leave Thirelind, as I did?" I hoped she had left the kingdom on her own, that Saila hadn't sent her.

Lubyla
03-18-2003, 04:34 PM
I brushed my red hair back."Leave like you did? Hah, if you look for a hobbit run away from there, she left two days past." I hadto think of a name...I would use Krystal, but then I woud be brought in for murder. "I am Tamra."

Silverstripe
03-18-2003, 04:44 PM
I was a bit skeptical of Tamra's story, though she wasn't evil. She seemed to know something about Thirelind, which most people can't learn from mere stories.

"I left the same way the hobbit did," I admitted. "I'm a runaway." It was a stupid thing to say, yet I believed Tamra could be trusted, and I knew no one else could hear us.

"I remember Saila talking about a runaway hobbit, but she never thought the hobbit would survive alone. I'm glad to hear that the hobbit made it, after all. And I hope she finds somewhere safe."

I scolded myself for calling my grandmother Saila. Few servants would dare, even when they were this far away from her. If the hobbit was from Thirelind, she'd know this.

Lubyla
03-18-2003, 04:51 PM
I raised an eyebrow.Salia? I only called her that for I had no respect what-so-ever to anyone who would try t. "Yes, she is quite alright, I talked to her. And who are you?" I knew, yet I didn't I clutched the staff tighter. Anyone from [Ithere[/I] would know me by that move, and y my staff. I shall have to keep an eye, or two on her.

Silverstripe
03-18-2003, 05:02 PM
"Wait. You ARE a runaway, aren't you? The Queen doesn't let her servants go, and you are from Thirelind. I know it. I can see you don't trust me, though. Listen. If I tell you who I am, who I truly am, will you believe that I mean you no harm, and keep my identity secret?"

Lubyla
03-18-2003, 05:28 PM
I sighed, it was the only way, yet, by the way of her disrespect, I felt I could trust her "Alright. I can do that. But only if you dont go there and tell of my location, or take me back." I clutched the staff even tighter, as often I did when making a deal.

Lady of Rohan
03-18-2003, 05:50 PM
I looked over at the lady standing next to me. I smiled at her. "Hello lady. I am Adreivia. I gather tthat you are Enya."

The lady looked surprised when I mentioned that I knew her name. "I am of the dunedain. I come often to Rivendell, and knew of this journey before the counsel had taken place."

Silverstripe
03-18-2003, 05:52 PM
I nodded to the hobbit, made certain that no one could overhear, then said, "I am Calien, granddaughter of Saila. I left because she wanted me to join her in aiding her master Mauluk, and that I could never do. I think she took me in so she could try to convince me to join them," I said bitterly, "but she's failed."

The day my mother, Alasse, died, she must have known something was wrong. Before she left Thirelind to journey to Lorien, she warned me about the kind of person Saila truly was. She told me that if I ever needed help, and could not ask her, I should seek her kin in Rivendell.
Then, with a fond farewell, she was on her way. It was the last time I saw her alive. And my father had been slain soon after my mother had, leaving Saila to raise me. But even when Saila had seemed kind, I never forgot my mother's warning. Ever.

Silverstripe

Ellewen walked over, and told Calien that she would be allowed to speak with the questing group.

Smiling at the very surprised Tamra, I said,

"Ellewen and I are going to speak to the questers. They don't know what they're getting into, and somebody has to warn them."

Then Ellewen and I followed the elf, who led us into a small group. This had to be the company.

Lubyla

"Salia, Do you not...not recognize a fellow-fellow rul-that is a fellow...a friend when you see her?" A tear escaped from the hobbit's eye and she dejectidly pushed it away. This was no time to be acting like this. "Linte-that is The Master requests your presence immediatly. He will make his power known. He will begin." By the end of this statement the hobbit burst into tears and sat down clutching the staff to her, and was nearly sucking her thumb. Things had changed for Doncamiel. She did not belong here. Frantically without thinking about Mauluk being able to read her thoughts, she searched for a way of escape. Frantically she wondered how she might be able to change things. Nothing came to mind. She half whispered half whimpered. "He will rule. He cannot be stopped. Please m'lady you must go to him now. Tardieness of his most trusted servant he would barely accept, but if you are...He would blame me m'lady. You must go to him!"

Silverstripe
03-19-2003, 12:07 PM
Saila's icy expression showed no trace of compassion for the hobbit, though in truth the wizard was moved by Faith's plight. The hobbit had been her friend, after all, and the wizard had always had a fondness for the simple hobbits.

Mauluk could be a harsh master, especially to those like Faith, former rulers whose lands he had gained by conquest. Mauluk would make Faith's life very unpleasant indeed.

Yet Saila knew that she must show no signs of concern for the hobbit. Mauluk wouldn't tolerate his most trusted servant going soft. Besides, the wizard had to keep her own servants under control, and the easiest way to do that was to make them fear her wrath.

The hobbit had been right in saying Mauluk would not accept lateness. Saila would have to worry about finding her granddaughter later. And, of course, the treacherous servant, Ellewen. She'd have to be taught a lesson.

But Saila knew that finding Calien would be nearly impossible, now that she and Ellewen had gotten beyond the borders of her land. Mauluk would not be pleased that Saila had lost Calien, either, yet he'd be far angrier if she were late. And he WOULD take Saila's mistakes out on lesser servants, the wizard knew that from experience. All Saila could do for her old friend was report to Mauluk quickly.

"Very well, I will go at once," said Saila.

Then she disappeared.

I watched silently holding the reigns on Herman. 'I would soon get to know all these people of many races.' I thought. For a moment, no one spoke. Then I stood, "Where are we going anyway?" Many of the companions looked at me queerly. I grinned embarrassedly.

"If you're wise, you're not going anywhere yet," I said, answering the hobbit's last question. "Not until you know more about what you're confronting. The evil you face is powerful, and no one knows any way to destroy it." Murmurs rose from the group, some dismayed, some angry.

"Who are you to presume to tell us what to do?!" roared one of the people in the company.

"Someone who believes this company may be Middle Earth's last chance for survival," I said calmly, "but doesn't want to see you rush off to get killed. I want this quest to have some hope of succeeding, and I think that I might be able to help. How much do you know about the enemy?"

Lubyla
03-19-2003, 08:58 PM
"Not enough, for none will tell me anything." Nydassi glared across the room. "They think me not to be trusted."

I puzzled over the face of the girl who spoke. I had seen it somewhere before. I walked and stood next to Calien.

Doncamiel cowered away from the wizard, expecting her to sweep past her. Instead she dissapeared. Doncamiel clutched her staff rememberig at last that she was a wizard as well. Since retook her mind as she remembered she DID have a way out. Before long she too dissapeared.

The elf, Mauluk howled with rage at the wizard in front of him. She had startled him, and for one second he had been startled to the point he forgot the fear hold on the Countess Doncamiel. She would regain sence for a secodn, and that would be enough. He reached out to regain the fear hold. Sure enough she was gone.

Doncamiel found herself standing in the middle of a group of elves and hobbits and sorts. Embarresed she moved out of the crowd, and changed the looks of her still royal clothes. She would never don them again. Looking around she knew, though she had never been here, that this HAD to be Rivendale. She turned to the closest person, a hobbit, and asked what was going on, hoping she wouldn't be recognized.

"I know about as much as you do, nothing more, nothing less." I snapped at her.

"Then what are we to do if we know nothing? Do we let this new power prevail? I did not come here, and resist a home to be ignored and unused! I came to help the land that I knew for a time."

Doncamiel glared at the hobbit. Never before had she been treated so rudely. Just before she shouted at the hobbit, she remembered who...and what...she was now. She gritted her teeth and grined. "Thank you anyway." Stiffly Doncamiel sat down on a nearby chair. Might as well figure out what was going on. She HAD tried to go somewhere where something was going to be done about Mauluk, perhaps this place was it. She could help in any rate, as best she could. There was still the link between the two of them, and she knew of his near-weaknesses. Frome somewhere came the name his "Achelle's Heel" She shook her head pushing the thought back down.

The people's talk was fiery, and I decided to stay out of it. I glanced at Doncamiel and winced, the hobbit seemed harsh. I turned to Enya in distress, I felt small and helpless as I grasped Herman around the neck. No one seemed to see me. It was as if I was invisible...

ooc: Not no more! And you dun know Doncamiel's name unless you recognize her.

ic: She looked at the other hobbit, and shied away. So many hobbits in one place, some one was BOUND to recognize her, after all she WAS the only hobbit wizard, and one that had never lived in the Shire at that. She glanced at her staff, turning it's looks to that of a normal wooden walking staff.

Doncamiel shrunk away from the other hobbit a bit. She looked framiliar, slightly, but there was no way to tell. She had no time to worry about a simple hobbit, not where she had been before. She would just have to try to ignore her. Again though Doncamiel looked at her. She was looking back as though she recognized her. What if she does?! A fleeting thought darted across her mind. This is certantly no place for someone like me to be. They might name me a...a...Darkfriend.

ic: I turned away from the other hobbit. I looked around, everyone was silent, staring around blankly. I rubbed my eyes, and for a brief moment, I could see my nice warm hobbithole with a burning fire. I looked at Herman, he was watching me intently.

ic: "He called me Faith." She muttered a bit weekly, remembering her last meeting with Linte-that is with Mauluk. "I'm not Faith, I'm Don-" She clamped her mouth shut looking around. She stood up, and stretched, looking ready to leave the room.

The elf looked at the wizard eye to eye. Even she had to wince away from the glare that meet her.

Saila winced internally as Mauluk yelled at her, knowing full well why he was angry. She'd pay for losing Doncamiel and Calien, though others would bear the brunt of Mauluk's anger. Saila didn't let him see her fear; that would simply make him angrier. Instead, she waited for him to calm down, then said,

"You wanted to see me, Mauluk?"

When the two were alone, Saila used no title with the new King of Caellyn. The informal use of his name was a privelage he granted to his most trusted servant alone, and Saila would never let him forget that he'd chosen her to be his second-in-command. She couldn't afford to.

"No! We must not let the New Power prevail!" I cried, "but rushing blindly into battle is foolish. I know something of the threat we face. I only want to help the quest to have a chance."

I smiled at the girl who had said no one trusted her, not sharing their sentiments. I sensed that she was good-hearted. More than that, she seemed familiar somehow.

Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Doncamiel, former ruler of Caellyn, join the group. I knew it was her; you don't forget your best friends. So she had escaped Mauluk! I showed no sign of recognition, though -- at least, nothing any of the others could observe.

<Hello, Doncamiel.>

Fred Baggins
03-19-2003, 11:17 PM
Doncamiel jerked her head up and calmly scaned the crowd. Across the room sat her old friend Calien. Quickly adverting her eyes, she sat back down, trying to make it look as though she had just changed her mind.

<Don't call me that! He can hear...he can hear everything that enters my head. It could help him trace me! Call me...> She paused remembering the meeting with him. No Faith wouldn't be safe either.<...Glydia. Yes that'll do.> She laughed to herself. <It'll confuse him all right. Calien, I'm so afraid...he'll find me I'm sure. We can't be noticed together, Calien. Not at all, it'll draw suspicion. But I mustn't think of him. I'm sure you can figure out what I am doing here what of you?>

ic: I sat in the brush, watching the three. I smirked, spying was my talent. No one had ever spotted me. I had a wish to creep out and bite those feet, standing in front of me. I was called the sneak in all of Middle Earth, the name Lerintel was known only by me. The rest of my kin had died out long ago, leaving only my small family. Resently, my mother and fater had perished, leaving only me. I sniffed evil, I could almost taste their foul blood, the evil dead always carry a stench of something most unagreeable.

Nydassi- Has lived in both of the kingdoms of Doncamiel, and Calien. She is like a nazgul--not living, not dead. She wears white now, and seems to be but only a shadow of what she once was.

Tamra- Hobbit. Not much to say. She carries a black staff(no, not a wizard, just a walking staff) and has fiery red hair.

ic: I knew the Calien, and Doncamiel, though they would not know me, after all, I was suppose to be dead. Stabbed by the blades of the kingdoms of hate...only to bring them two kingdoms of one.

ooc: I am too, Fred Baggins has two, or three characters, a hobbit-wizard called Doncamiel and an evil elf called Mauluk. Silverstripe has an evil wizard called Saila and Calien, Saila's daughter, pleez correct me on that. I have two, you know about that hobbit Filti, but now I have a kind of evil ferret called Lerintel, the sneak. He is with Mauluk and Saila, spying on them. He can hear Doncamiel and Calien speaking mentally. Does that clear things up?

Silverstripe
03-20-2003, 01:13 PM
CALIEN
Elf (basically), granddaughter of Saila, Queen of Thirelind.
Hair: Black
Eyes: Gray
Height: 6'1
Weapons: actually, at the moment, she isn't carrying any.
Horse: Anmara, a dark bay mare.
Special: Has some interesting characteristics which have not surfaced yet.

ELLEWEN

Twenty-something woman, light brown hair and brown eyes. Once servant to Calien of Thirelind, now her friend. Carries a small dagger. Ellewen probably won't be going on the quest, but I haven't decided for sure.

SAILA
Evil, very powerful wizard; only Mauluk is more powerful. Queen of Thirelind.

ic: <I couldn't even feel the traps they set up. And Ellewen never said a word about them either! All this is very strange. Unless ... did they let me escape?> I was terrified at the thought that my escape might not have been so successful. Maybe they let me go so I could find Doncamiel! But, no, it couldn't be that. I had been used as part of the spell to bind Doncamiel; she could not have escaped if I had not.

Lubyla

I stood and started walking out, though I had one more trick up my sleeve. A cold wind howl, and to Calien and Doncamiel, said a small, 'Remember...' and the ndied down.

Tamra shivered and sat down.

<No, Glydia, I'm worrying about things that can't be. They wouldn't have let me go; they risked losing you, if I was gone. And Saila didn't want me to escape, either.> I stopped "speaking" to Doncamiel then, confused.

As a chill wind began to howl, I recognized the girl who was about to leave the group, one of the few who had acted as if she'd even heard me when I spoke. Nydassi?! But she's... I walked over to her, and said quietly,

"Don't leave yet."

Lubyla
03-20-2003, 02:18 PM

"Are you the person I think you are?" I asked carefully. The name 'Nydassi' should never be said aloud; it attracts too much attention from certain foul creatures. It would be amazing if she lived, but we could have no joyful reunion, for the same reason it wasn't safe to say her name. "What are you called here?"

Lubyla
03-20-2003, 02:40 PM
"You may call me Nalin. It is great to see you again." I smiled. "I thought you would catch on quickly enough, you and Doncamiel. What has become of this world? Surely not good. At least it seems not."

Silverstripe
03-20-2003, 03:04 PM
"Hello, Nalin." Quietly, and again making sure no one could hear us, I told my friend the names that Doncamiel and I were going by.

"It's good to see you again, too." I smiled, but then my face grew sad as I said, "No one is certain what happened to this world; it was indeed sudden. I think the New Power had something to do with it," I said, in a tone that would tell Nydassi I knew it. "Many of our people were slain, including my parents."

Lubyla
03-20-2003, 05:35 PM
"As I have feared, it is just good to see you two alive. What are we fighting against? I know the Gate Bird has his beak in this." I looked around the room."I hate to hear of your parents being slane. I just wish I could have seen them one more time."My necklace was hidden underneath my cloak.

ooc: Mauluk is the most powerful evil force Middle-Earth has seen since the begginging of time. His power is beyond that of anything seen before. Most of the time he appears in the form of a handsome elf, though his true form is more fearful than a balrog, writewraith, and Sauron, combined. Other names are Lintegwath, Buddy, and Snakesnout.

Doncamiel is a hobbit wizard. Doncamiel the Blue, Wizard of the West. Countess. Fell under bad advice(That of Mauluk) and lost her kingdom to Mauluk. SHE'S NOT EVIL! Just thought to make that clear. She's just brainwashed sometimes, and other times she's just got bad advice.

Silverstripe
03-21-2003, 12:22 PM
ooc: LOL! Faith, in that last post, did you really mean Writewraith, or was that supposed to be Ringwraith?

After it was decided that the quest would start at sunrise, nearly everyone had left or gone inside, making it a little safer to talk to Nydassi.

"So do I," I told her. "As it is, I hope to prevent more deaths. The people here have no idea what they're facing. I've seen the work of Mau-the New Power. So has Glydia. Yet the company will not delay their quest to find out more ... which leaves us no choice but to accompany them." By us, of course, I meant Nydassi, Doncamiel, and me.

Ellewen was trying not to listen to Calien's conversation, but she couldn't help but hear the last bit. She almost asked Calien whether she should go on the quest or stay, but then remembered that she was no longer a servant. She'd have to decide for herself.

If Ellewen went on the quest, she would have to go into Caellyn, which could have fatal consequences for her. Then again, this was true for nearly everyone. Calien and Doncamiel were possible exceptions, but even they faced unsure fates by returning. And if Mauluk took over Middle Earth, no one would be safe anywhere.

So Ellewen decided to go where she could do the most good ... but where was that? While she, too, knew something of Mauluk's power, it was only what she gathered from eavesdropping, and the rumors among the servants, and sometimes, being with Calien when Saila spoke to her.

Ellewen wasn't an expert with any weapon, and she was neither a wise counselor nor a great leader. Years of avoiding Saila's wrath had made her skilled at remaining unseen as she crept through the palace, but as Calien's servant, she'd had more protection than most, so even that skill was less developed in her than it was in less fortunate servants. Certainly she couldn't match an elf for stealth.

Ellewen was good at encouraging others, and an excellent peacemaker. She had some healing skills, and she could cook, a little. Yet she believed that was all she would bring to the quest. In her eyes, it wasn't much.

On the other hand, if she stayed, what could she do to help? Encourage those who had not gone on the quest, help solve any conflicts that might arise, and perhaps help do the ordinary little tasks that needed to be done; tasks that Ellewen, as a servant, had quite a bit of experience with.

She would stay, then, for she could do more here than she could off questing. It wasn't so grand as saving the world, but the little tasks needed to be done, too. Ellewen, relieved now that she had made her decision, smiled at Calien and walked away.

"And I will have to carry a weapon again, which I have not done in a long time." Not since Nydassi's "death," in fact.

Thinking of Illali, Nydassi's companion panther, I smiled. I had become fond of the panther during our journeys together, though I could not understand her, as Nydassi could.

"I would have liked to see her. Where is she now?"

As I said this, I glanced at Tamra. The young hobbit was sitting down, and I could not tell by her expression whether she was afraid or simply surprised, though it seemed to be one of those two.

"Then I must once again take up Glamdring." I had spoken it out loud, yet I wasn't afraid. A few pairs of eyes swung towards me, and whipsers ran through the elves and other assorted races. Now they knew I carried Glamdring. And it was a widly known fact that when Gandalf had left one thing of his had been left behind. No one knew what, but it could not remain hidden much longer, just as well they knew. The sword appeared at my side, and I grasped the hild drawing the sword out of the scabberd. There where very few left here, only those that had decided to go on this quest. Perhaps that is why I was not quite so afraid. Or maybe I was just sick of being afraid. I am after all Countess Doncamiel, Wizard of the West, Wielder of the Wargs Bane. But I did not speak it aloud. That much would NOT be wise, for the "new power" has his spys everywhere.
