It's name was Narsil, but when it's reforged it's called Andúril.

While reading the LOTR, I thought the re-forging of Narsil was a slightly hidden, yet important part of the book. I simply assumed it was not shown in the movie. I must read and watch LOTR again.

The reforging of Narsil was not shown in the TTT or FOTR movies, I guess that it will be shown in the ROTK. In the FOTR book it is forged while the fellowship are at Rivendell.

that is odd that it hasn't been included yet. Maybe it will be in the extended TTT.

My theory is that PJ wanted it to coincide with Aragorn showing up to defend the west in earnest outside of Mordor. I don't like the rumors of Arwen bringing it to him, but that's probably what we'll get...

Well the fact that Aragorn had the sword in the FOTR book and not in the movie kinda throw me off. But really who is PJ kidding any Tolkien fan who has read the first book would know that that was just wrong confuseing me like that. But I honestly hope that he dosen't make another big love scene because ROTK had Aragorn and Arwen's wedding in it and that was enough for me.
