I like all the races for different reasons.
I like Elves the most though! They are so graceful and skilled!

I sort of like men, just because they are usually good, but flawed. That makes them interesting. Elves are the most fascinating, however, because they are so...is aloof the right word? I don't mean it in a bad way, its just that they are above the other races.

I like hobbits the best! They're so laid back, and yet they can be so brave and devoted. They have a special zest for life, and enjoy the companionship of others. Even when things get tough, hobbits never give up. They just can't help but look on the bright side of things. They range from the gentlest of creatures to the fiercest, I mean, just look at Sam, Frodo, Merry, and Pippin! They started out small. They were afraid of being out of the Shire, but as they progressed on to bigger and more dangerous things, they unleashed skills and feelings they never knew they had. And also, I think Frodo is cool. I think this because he's my favourite character.

Are you talking about PJ's interpretation of the races? If that's the case, this is the place for it. If you mean it the way they are characterized in the books, the Middle Earth forum already has some threads like this.

I prefer hobbits because they seem to not care for the outside world. Nothing matters to them other than the Shire, and I find that a very real way to look at things. btw....FRODO'S MY HERO!:D

You gotta love a race of people whose biggest concern is a good pint of ale, a good smoke and a little gardening. I mean how can you not love that. Well there's also the other side of the spectrem. While they do love their lives of peace and plenty they also (willing or not) have a small spark of courage that when brought up into a raging inferno is rarely out done even by the bravest and hardiest of dwarves, elves or men. There are only a few exeptions where the courage of a man or dwarf or elf...normally it was an elf/man team...Beren and Luthien for example(I mean no hobbit went and tried to stand up against Morgoth)
But you do have to remember that it was a hobbit that finally brought down Sauron (who was Morgoths general)...and not even a normal sane hobbit at that. So I would have to say that hobbits RULE!!!

but the dwarves did nothing to help, except gimli, and that is just one dwarf.

As far as the movies are concerned, I will go with the race of men. They were portrayed very, very well. We got to see the diversity of the different realms - glimpses of their history, their mindset, and so forth. We got to see them at their best and at their worst, wisdom and folly, strength and weakness.

Of course it helped that the actors were excellant.
