Ic: "Concil? In Rivendale? Now why am i beng summoned there? I'm just a mere elf ranger, well okay maybe not but only a select few know my true identity," I mumbled to myself while reading and walking to my horse; Nusillva.
(I am now about to play ppl in Rivendale for now.) "Arwen, messages have been sent to all it would concern. Please inform Frodo and his companions, and Tell Strider, Frodo and Gandalf that they will have to attend the SECRET concil," Elrond said to his beloved daughter Arwen. Arwen ran off in search of this group. Arwen found the group sitting in a beautiful garden with Bilbo. Arwen spoke quickly for she had many things to do. She got their answers and off she bounded.

There it sat, just before us. Rivendale. I turned to Legolas, nodding towards the land before us. "Well, I have escorted you this far my friend. I stick with what I said in Mirkwood. I will go no further than this place. I remember what happened last time I was in the Last Homely House, it was not pleasant." Again he tried to convince me. Convince me that, my being a lord of Mirkwood was reason enough to continue, that it compelled me to go. I shook my head in a frim No.
"But Resta, does your name not mean Aid? And is this not a cause for Aid, my good friend."
"I cannot go there again. I dare not, I shall make a fool of myself again, as I have done in the past, when you have made me go to these councils..." I looked at him, "And yet, each time after declining, I have agreed. Very well, friend Legolas, but this is the LAST time you drag me along."
"You said that last time," he reminded me with a twinkle in his eyes.
"Lets just go."

As I led Aelin up the road to Rivendell I sighed.
"Never thought we'd be back here huh, Aelin?" Aelin nickered but whether in agreement or not was unclear.
I had memories I'd rather forget in Rivendell but Elrond had asked me to come. And I, only an elf from North Mirkwood, could not refuse him.
I looked again at the paper that had been sent
Your presence is requested immediatly for a council of great importance. Elrond, Lord of Rivendell*
"I'm foolish to come back. I only hope this will be over soon"
*your presence is requested at a council of great importance. Elrond, Lord of Rivendell

ic: "Frodo, can I pllllleeeeeaseeeee go?" Adrian begs, pulling on his leg as he tries to walk away.
"Alright, Adrian, just let go of my leg," he replies.
"Yes, thank you best brother in the world!" Adrian says, kissing him on the cheek, they walk off towards the location they have been told to go to.

As Arin arrived in Rivendell the sights reminded her of a time when she had been welcome.
"I never should have come Aelin. No one really wants me here. What could be so urgent that Elrond would ignore my fathers wishes?"
"I never want to see you again!" this rang in her ears as she ran out of the hall.
Another sigh escaped her lips. She noticed two other elves arriving dressed in the fashion of Mirkwood.
"What is happening that would call so many?" she said in wonder. She led Aelin to the stables then hurried to find Elrond.
"Let's find out." she said quietly to herself.
ooc: description in case anyone wants to say they saw Arinareal.
She's not as tall as other elves and she has Blonde hair with grey eyes.

I raised an eyebrow at another elf even if she could not see in my elf. She lead her horse to the stables we had just left. Catching the oddest sight out of the corner of my eye, I griped the sword at my side, remembering the vow I made as a child, to kill all Nazgul myself.
For what I was was a dark figure wearing black...even if it did not strick the same anger the very same figures had before.

ic: My cloak flowed in the non existent wind.Why had I come this time? Leading My horse, others spied us. Curse them all. I suppose they shall try and kill me just as always. I losened my sword and felt at my ankle, removing a small agger, in wich I threw at the two gawking at me. Perhaps they shall run away like the rest...though they did not. Curse them. Perhaps they are not as cowardly as they look...

With ease I pulled my sword out, and knocked aside the dagger, staring at it a moment, as the figure stared at my sword. It was a well known sword, being the only of it's type, an iron snake wrapped arount the blade, making it more deadly than any sword. "That is no Nazgul sword, but surly you must die whomever you may be sir, for attempting to harm the Prince Legolas Greenleaf of Mirkwood, and the Lord Resta Snakesword of Mirkwood." I pulled back my hood, revealing the two sward marks down my chin, and the crown on my head, though none could see the crown.

At his comments, I had to laugh. I trotted my horse over closer to him, and hopped of. Making my voice as manly as his, which I had mastered long ago, I said,"I assure you Lord Resta, I was not trying to kill you, or your, comapnion." At this I smirked, thogh none could see. my face was hidden under my hood.I clenched the sword at my side. Tis true he had a powerful sword, though I feared him not, I fear nothing, fear fears me." And, if I may say, I am not what--or who you think I am." My voice softened to its womanly tone.
Fred Baggins

Reddinging I pulled the hood back over my head. Why was I foolish enough to pull it back in the first place? Fool! Kneeling I spoke, "Pardon my ignorance m'am. I am not normally so on edge." I left out the little fact I had at first thought her to be a nazgul, and my promise. "Let me re-introduce myself in a more pleasurable way. I am Resta Snakesword, coincedence the name m'am, and please ignore the little Lord comment. I hate the title personally. This is my companion Prince Legolas Greenleaf." I smiled at him, even if he could not see it, we had known eachother long enough to know what the motion meant. And I knew he wouldn't be to particularly found of not being able to introduce himself.
Legolas bowed to her for a moment. "It is a...pleasure...making your aquantance m'lady. You must pardon my friend here, he has a tendancy to kill anything that reminds him of his-of Nazgul m'lady."

I looked at them both and laughed again. This time so hard that the blade in my hair pierce my hood."Why do you bow? I am no lady, only as some would call an outcast of sorts." I turned and took down my hood, so all the two saw was my hair. It fell gently down past my shoulders, half up, half down. The part up was kept that way by means of two daggers.The blue flames at the tips of my hair seemed to dance. Pulling my hood back over, I turned to face them again."Well, it is a pleasure, I'm sure, though I really must be off." I swooped onto my horse's back, she was more the finishing touch on my Nazgul apperance."O, and thank you for the Nazgul thoughts, they are my true aim." I took off tward the stables.

I heaved a heavy sigh, finally made it all the way to rivendale. i stroked Nasillva and spoke soothingly in her ear, she trotted away into the surronding woods. I began to walk fast up the rounding steps, the steps still seemed familliar never changing always the same stone steps. "Now where is Elrond?" I thought. I turned my head for a moment to see where the yelling was coming from and just i did so i ran smack into another elf. I quickly turned back and soon realized that it was Elrond. "my apologizes Elrond," I said and bowed. "aw i see that you have come, i was just seeing what was going on in my court-yard," Elrond replied. "Yes indeed i was wondering that myself," I said trying not to feel irritated for being summoned for a reason unknown to me. "Why don't you come with me then, uh-hmmm i have just realized i don't know rightly what to call you by! Shall i call you by your real name or are we still keeping that secret?" Elrond eyes flashed a little as he spoke. "Still hiding my identity, i'm going by, Nienna," I smiled weakly. "aw well then, still you shouldn't hide who you are, no name is high enough for you except your own! But now i cannot tell you what to do," Elrond sighed at me, he was still hoping i would reveal myself to all, but i couldn't and i wouldn't, not till i had to. "I think i shall come," I replied to Elrond. Elrond and i walked down the ever twining stairs before reaching the court-yard. The rucus had died down when we got there. "Why hello there, i should hope all is well there is no problems is there? For we must get to concil!" Elrond spoke as if he was in haste, but why would he be in such a rush? "Well whatever it is sort out and then up to concil, quickly now! Oh and Nienna," Elrond suddenly spoke to me. "uh yes?" I said startled. "Could you please go and find Gandalf?" Elrond asked. "Gandalf is here! Gandalf!" I nearly screamed, whether it was in happiness to see him or grief for something must be astir i did not know and i did not care. I rushed off in search of Gandalf. I quickly found Gandalf busying himself in some book. I quickly told Gandalf of my fake name so he would not call me by my true name, i was not ready to be discovered. Gandalf and i arrived at where the concil was to be held i sat down on Gandalfs left hand side. I soon noticed that there were many people sitting around and empty chairs all about too. There was an especially small chair to Gandalf's right.

As I turned a corner of the courtyard I nearly missed running into Elrond and another elf. Before they could see me I drew back and headed another way. I was not ready to be asked questions.
What could Elrond want with such a band of people? I thought.
I wondered about the two I had seen from Mirkwood. I do not much see other elves. After i left Rivendell i lived in Mirkwood for awhile but had no 'home'. They looked to be royalty although the one had his face covered and I could not tell.
"Arinareal."
I turned to see Elrond following me. "Yes?"
"I am glad you came."
"Does he know I'm here?" I breathed.
Elrond faced me and said, "No and I will not tell him unless you desire it."
I nodded my head with relief.
"Please head to the council. i will be there shortly."

I bent down to pick up the dagger that had been left behind, rubbing the marks of the hilt, and pondering over the marks of the blade. "A rangers blade."
"Her, a ranger? How can that be Resta?" I showed Legolas the blade. "It is one allowed only to rangers. Unles she killed a ranger and took the blade. I would keep an eye on her. Come Legolas, it is time for that council. I WILL get you back for making me come." He mearly nodded, slightly distraceted I'm sure. I felt a movment in the quiver on my back and smiled, as a black snake wriggled out, my eyes.

I glared after her, and contiued on to the council. We took a couple seats with the other elves. I looked around, noticing dwarves, men including one other ranger, and Gandalf Greyhelm. At the site of the wizard I almost groaned out loud. There was also a short little person, with no beard, who I assumed must be a hobbit. This surprised me greatly, for according to the stories of Mirkwood, the hobbits had not left there land since they left the land between the misty mountains and what is now Mirkwood. That is until a few years ago, when a 'burgler' lived in our presance for a few days.

As I walked into the council, I got a few glares. I showed the hilt of my sword casually, which shut them up for a bit. I walked to the back, and took a seat in the corner, not after share a word with the ranger. He nodded, and I sat away from the rest. My face was still covered, so that I looked like a Nazgul still, which didn't seem to go well with the elves, but I did not care, I have something more powerful than any of them, and THIS wepon can't be lost, like my dagger. I felt down at my foot again. It felt awkward, but I should have gotten use to that already. The Lord Resta kept looking at me, do I pose as THAT much of a threat?

"Now most of you if not all of you are probably wondering why you have been summoned to concil. Well you have been summoned for one reason and one reason only, Frodo," Elrond said shifting his gaze to Frodo. Frodo slowly rose from his seat and came forward placing a ring upon the table(?) in the middle. "This is the reason you all have been summoned the one ring has been found and sauron and the nazgul are after it, and many people are starting to sway under Sauron's power though he does not yet have physical form i believe his is still strong and is gaining power and now we must decide what to do with it," Elrond spoke wisely and yet he seemed distracted somehow. "Well of course it must be destroyed," Some of the group shot out even i was one of them. "Why should we destroy such a thing, why do we not use it to our whim and let us destroy him with it?" Boromir asked with a mysetrious light filling his eyes. "No, we can not use it, for within us it would draw a power from us to great evil," Gandalf spoke and his eyes seemed to grow a little stern. "Well then let us destroy it," said Gimli rising forward and heaving his great axe he slammed it down upon the ring, the ring did not dent. "Fool! You can not destroy it with any weapon we have here, someone must take it to mount doom and cast it into the fires wense it came!" Elrond said, annoyed with the dwarfs actions. "Elves should take it," some elf said. "I do not trust elves and i would not see that they have it!" Gimli said sternly rising and started yelling more at the closet elf to him. Everyone began to rise and yell. "I will take it! I will take it," Frodo spoke quietly but his voice began to rise and all fell silent. "But i'm afraid i do not know the way," Frodo said uneasily. "Ah i will come with you Frodo as long as this burrden is yours to bare," Gandalf said and rose to his feet and placed his hand upon Frodo's shoulder. "I shall come too, for you have my sword," I said and bowed to the haffling; Frodo. I stood up again and stood beside Gandalf. "Who else shall go?" Elrond asked.
ooc: there, there's the opening, sorry to make these so long, and uh another question is anyone playing Boromir? i think we'll just have to do what were doing with Elrond and so forth with the characters that aren't being played. I rose and wlked over nodding. I said nothing, though everyone knew I was going, with or without thier leave. Some looked hesitant to allow me, I dont blame them. One who looks, and acts like a Nazgul cannot be trusted, right? Wrong. I looked over the companions to go so far, a pretty sad bunch, problebly have but one blade or bow, mastered in one skill. "I too will go." I announced.

"I've gone and done it again. Curse the genes of my father, and the lust for travel born in me. 'My death will be by my father' it was once proffesied. Now I know it doesn't mean what I used to think." I stood leaning over the rail in my room, speaking to no one in particular, except my snake curled around the rail. "I almost wish it was, for I would much rather he personally kill me, so that I may at last meet him in battle. That would be vitory, even in death." The snake mearly hissed, what I think was an agreeing hiss. The snake was usually the one that showed my feelings, for I rarely did. Already I had shown to much, for all and none to see. The snake, slithered onto my arm and into the quiver on my back. I had to get out of this suffocating room, out of this cursed House.

Just then i saw a dark cloaked figure not sure if it was someone from concil i shot off back to rivendale to find Elrond to ask him where i would be staying. "Elrond! Elrond!" I hollered. "Oh, yes Nienna?" Elrond said suprised as he turned around. "uh where shall i be staying?" I asked. "I'm sorry to say but we have had to double up people, there is not enough rooms you see, since most of the people have decieded to wait till tomorrow to set out back home," Elrond ansewred. "Oh i see," I said looking down. "Well, there is one or two single rooms but i'm not sure if they are unoccupied," Elrond said. "Then i'll ask you again later unless you find me a different room or something," I said and then shot off for the garden, i felt like i was being watched or followed.
occ: There that'll give us the characters more of a chance to communicate, try not to pair yourself up with someone you already know a lot about unless its for a good reason. I watched the elf, Nienna. I'm not sure why, but perhaps because of her connection with the wizard. 'Where is your dagger Serenity, dont tell me you lost it again.'
"I will find it soon enough, let me find my room, and then I shall find it."Dagger started to follow as I walked back."No, stay with the horses for now." I walked back into the home, parting with my friend.

ic: Who is that sitting over there? Is that the same person i saw earlier? Should i ask, should i say anything? These questions ran through my head and i finally decieded i'd say something. "Hello? Who are you, and why does it seem that you follow me?" I asked in elvish.
Fred Baggins
02-23-2003, 01:03 AM
I responded in elvish, keeping my face hidden...of course I always keep my face hidden. "I am Resta of Mirkwood, traveling companion of Prince Legolas...and now it seems Frodo Baggins." Underneath my hodd I rolled my eyes. "And I follow you because you intrest me...for instance keeping your true identity hidden."

"How do you know i hide my true identity!?" I screamed, while trying to pull my hood down lower.

I shrugged. "You reak of secrets, that is all." I was vaugly awar of the snake sticking it's embarased head out of my hood, to look at her. "There are things you do that suggest you have not told the whole truth. But do not worry Lady, I do not know you're true identity...yet."

"ah, yes and yet i have a feeling everyone shall know before this adventure is over, and yet i feel that someone shall know before we leave Rivendale, so you are traveling with the prince of mirkwood?" I asked trying to change the subject.

I walked over to Elrond." Where am I to stay?"
He looked at me, and told me the exact same thing as before to others. I nodded. "I wished my privacy, though what must be, must be I suppose. Though, please place me with someone...interesting." I walked back through the house, aware that no one wanted me there, for they say black rider. I walked back out to the stables. Some one was there...

ic: I trotted Aelin until sweat was gathered on her skin.
"I'm sorry Aelin. That was silly of me. We'll rest for a moment before we return."
As I sat I spoke to aelin, "You know, I don't even know hardly any of the fellowship. Everyone seems so busy and important. Not me, if I'm honest Id say I'm just in it to get away."
Aelin nickered. I laughed, "Don't you start on me too. C'mon let's head back."
I climbed upon her and we headed to Rivendell's stables. I was brushing Aelin down when I heard something.
I called out, "Who's there?"

I heard her. "No one of real importance, just getting my horse." I patted Hurricane, and lept up, and forgot my pack. My eyes glowed a bright green, and it came to me. as soon as I touched it, my eyes went back to thier dull state.

The person answered and I recognized her voice from earlier at the council. I stepped out of Aelin's stall and saw a pack rise in the air. Quickly I stepped back.

"Unfortunatly yes. And the lad continues to get me mixed up with these things." The snake slithered out of my hood, and glared at her. I lightly touched the sword at my side, to assure myself that it was still there. And smiled when my hand brushed againts the dagger in my pocket.

I quickly ran to a sprawled out body it was Arinareal with an arrow in her chest. "Arinareal! Arinareal!" I screamed, no reply. I heard a rustle in the trees, i quickly picked Arinareal up and screamed, "Help! Somebody, It's it's Arinareal!" i turned back into the garden where i had last seen everyone and layed Arinareal down and began calling for help again.

*Legolas walked up behind Resta* "What's going on here Resta?"
"Legolas, thank goodness your here. Hurry and find the wizard, this Lady has been harmed, apparently by orc weapons. Get Lord Elrond to."
"All right." *Legolas turned around. Resta and legolas had been friends for years, and Legolas knew when Resta spoke in need.*
*Soon after he came back with Gandalf with him.* "Lord Elrond is on his way."

ooc: This next part is not my character I am just narrating so we can get going. I'm gonna make a couple days pass, kay?
When Gandalf and Lord Elrond arrived they had everyone leave and spent many hours trying to revive Arinareal. The arrow, being poisoined was even more dangerous than a normal arrow and it was hard work but eventually Gandalf spoke to the other members of the Fellowship and informed them that Arin would live.
"The wound will not fully heal but she will live."
ic: (now its me) : I woke with Gandalf by my side.
"You're lucky to be alive," he started but I interrupted him.
"Have they left? The fellowship?"
"No but you can't-"
I set my jaw and sat up, painfully, "My wound will be healed in a day or so. I will go."
Gandalf started to speak but we were interrupted by Legolas and Resta.
"Please Lord Resta, urge Arinareal to give up her idea of going with the Fellowship."
I leaned back and set my eyes on Resta.
ooc: Now we can start moving.;)
Fred Baggins
04-06-2003, 12:22 AM
"Well you see Arinareal, this arrow that has struck you was poisened, and as Gandalf has said you ARE lucky to be alive. Lord Elrond has managed to take the poison out, but when Neinna, Serenity, and I found you we first took you for dead. And your not much better. If you came along on this Fellowship if it didn't kill you you would come very close to it. Now I suggest you rest, and forget about it. Gandalf'll tell you all about it when he comes back." I stood up and started to head towards the door.

I snuck up from behind Arinareal's bed. "She shall go with or without your guidance or permission. I shall stay by her side night and day if i have to! She is strong of heart and shall come with us! She is of great importance to the survival of this fellowship believe it or not! We shall all play a role in due time...in due time." I stated firmly at all that was around, i looked into the faces around me they all seemed a tad suprised to see me, "Wipe those foolish gestures off your faces! I come in suprise ah yes but seemingly enough you would not think i would support her well i'd support anyone in her situation as long as their spirit was strong," I finished solemnly and turned and fled like a speckle of gold dust in the wind.

I don't much mind her coming along. There are others I'd do better without though. Perhaps it was a mistake offering to help. "Fine."
*Legolas began to stand up in protest* "Resta, how-"
"Legolas, forgive me for interupting you, but...may we disscuss this alone?" *He nodded, and I led him out the door* "Legolas, when a woman has made up her mind, considering your age, I'd figure you'd know not to try to change her mind. The mind of a female is to complacated to fully understand, but at least try to figure out that there is no way to change her mind." *We where heading to our room, and I went on* "I belive I will be going back to Mirkwood rather than accompaning this journey. I belive without there Prince Mirkwood may need the help of another. Besides, you know how homesick I get."
"Your still an awful liar Resta. I know you and Gandalf don't get along like you should, but this is a need that--did you hear something?"
"Yes. The Female Ranger is following us."

I darted in out of rooms and dropped in on conversations. I had to know what was going on with everybody, for if they found out.......i don't know what'd i do. But i needed to find someone to trust.....and it couldn't be Gandalf. Who would it be? Who could it be? I needed someone to trust prefebly an elf, i still was weary of hobbits though i had been in the shire many a time before but i had never been seen. What about Strider? Surely i could trust him? And i have worked with him before but he has probably forgotten me. What was i to do. I couldn't hold back from the group. I needed them to trust me. I needed these people as much as they needed my skill. I heaved and a sigh and hoped that maybe they would approach me.

"I have already done better, you and he are to share a room and nobody is to share one with Arinareal, I have found extra room for the others once your brother told me about your insanity and thought it best to put you in the same room."
"Thank you," I said and ran off to go to mine and Frodo's room, only to find him there(Frodo and I can share a room because we are brother and sister, we shared a room at Bag End before). "Frodo, there you are," I said, relieved to find him.
"Adrian, where have you been, I've been looking all over for you!?" I said, embracing my sister.
"Looking for you."
"Well, you found me, and I might just add that I was getting worried about you."
"So was I, now, lets go get something to eat, I'm starved."

ic: After Adrian left I decided it was my turn to ask a question, "For what reason is Resta here? He does not seem to want to go and if he is so heartless as you say would he rather not stay in Mirkwood?"
I knew it was a fairly rude question but I waited for the reply anyway

I sat watching Resta, still hidden on my bench. I had to laugh, though it brought attention to myself.I quickly stood up and softly, silently moved to the bench across the way, as to not be discovered.

"Resta? Of course he would rather be somewhere else. I'm not saying Mirkwood persay, but somewhere else indeed. There are two things that keep him here. Resta's not heartless, in fact I'm sure you've recognized the meaning of his name to be 'aid'. There are two things he lives for, one is to protect his prince," *At this Legolas blushed slightly* "And the other is revenge. He know's that the nazgul will be attracted to this hobbit, the ringbearer, and that is why he has decided to accompnany the mission. He would never openly admit it, either reason, but that IS why he stays.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"An opportunity of a life time, and that would be accompaning death? No, I wouldn't mind missing it at all, even if some say that I date death." Absently he fingered his sword. Many he had heard whispered that if it where not for his everlasting search for the one wringwraith, he would have nothing to live for, and thus would die. Of course, they where rumors, he had lived many years before the search had begun. But he did at times wonder what he would do once he finished.
*Legolas turned silent, staring out the window. Finally he spoke up* "Resta...is half-elven. His father was once a great king among men." *He turned his head back* "He was also one of the kings to recieve one of the nine mortal rings of power."
Frodo and I walked back to our room, exhausted, only to find the door open and the room in disorder, "What happened?"
"I do not know dear sister, make sure that none of our things are missing while I go inform Elrond." I said. My hand went to Adrian's shoulder and I asked, "Do you have your neclaces on?"
"Yes, they're right here," I told him, pulling the two chains out from under my shirt, one had my three unknown and unnamed rings on it that only my brother, Elrond, and Gandalf knew about, or so I thought, and the other had my charms on it, special charms that I had from my father and mother.
"Good, I will return shortly, it depends on how soon I find Elrond."
"Use good speed brother, night is near."
But what the Prince speaks is truth. Rest well m'lady." I walked away and looked at Legolas, noting the odd smile that touched his lips.
I on the other hand shall hope to find the fellowship along the way back from where i have gone to, i'm afraid i can not stay longer. Please take care of my horse and let her go when she wills! ic: *Legolas, annoyed with waiting for Resta, outside the stables, walked over to the others. He saw Arin, and walked over to her.*
I walked into the stable which housed my horse Cúron , petting his muzzle. "Many years, Cúron, you and your family has served me and mine. Because of a promise and a curse, you have been faithful to us, despite being wild, and yet still manage to return to your family, and find acceptance in your old age. I am the last of my line, and I find no reason to bind you to your promise. I release you faithful companion, comrade, and friend from your bind. Now at last, you do not have to worry about Condir hissing at you with your everystep." I opened, the door, and whispered into his ears, the breaking spell. To late I relized the effect it would have on him, and he reared up, taking down everything in it's way, and running out the gates of Rivendale. "Go home, my friend, go home."
I followed the horse, until he passed Legolas and his friend. I bowed to the elven lady, and smiled, turning to Legolas. "I'm about ready to get started. The day is fresh, and though I couldn't sleep because of someone snoring, I feel rested.
"Strange...how you can keep yourself up with your own snoring."
I laughed it off. "Truce, m'prince. Truce." I motioned to the dwarf who was coming out. "Is HE coming to?"
*Legolas shook his head.* "You never could to close attention at the meetings could you. Unfortunantly yes." *To late Resta caught the twinkle in Legolas' eyes, as he shoved Resta toward the dwarf. "Why don't you get to know him a little better Resta? Tell me all about it!"
I lay on my back nameing the stars,the ones I knew anyway, --which weren't many--I was never strong there. Legolas sat examining his arrows to make sure they where sutible. For conversation purposes I spoke up. "How is the young Ringbearer doing?"
*laughing* You never could pay attention could you! Master Frodo is Middle-aged for a hobbit! Fifty I believe it was said!"
"O...well he looks...thirty or so..."
"That's because of the RING!"
I frowned at him, "I'm forgetful, not stupid! THAT I knew!" Searching for the closest thing I threw a peice of food at him. One of the hobbits--I couldn't tell which--woke up asking for food. I think it was the youngest. "Not now Master!" I said laughing. "Go back to sleep and rest up, you'll need your rest for another long march tomorrow." He lay back down grumbling about not being able to sleep on an empty stomach.
Just as he was going to sleep Legolas--who had sharper hearing--sat up straight.
"Did you hear that?"
"Wha-" I said cut off by a wargs growl. "O...that..."
I spent the night, unable to sleep as usual.Legolas and Resta talked a bit, as i got up, and wandered out into the night. Many sounds greated me, but one I was greatfully disturbed of, a growl of a warg. I quietly made my way back to camp, sitting now with Legolas and Resta.
Fred Baggins
05-01-2003, 08:38 PM
*Shakes his head* I see no reason, an arrow or two should take care of him.
I laughed. "M'prince has a head to big for his shoulders. He doesn't seem to relize that where one warg is there are usually others. I'm not sure we have to wake-"
The hobbit yelped, he hadn't compleatly gone to sleep. "WARGS!" Apperently his yelp woke others, because soon Aragorn, the dwarf, and that other human where at our sides. The five hobbits where huddled together, and I was looking at Legolas who was discreatly shaking his head.
"Unfortunately, Resta is right. We seem to be surrounded. Keep the hobbits out of the way. They'll only be in the way, as they can't see as well"
I fitted an arrow to my bow and aimed.
I drew the snake wrapped sword, pausing only for a moment to make a mental note that Aragorn couldn't see as well either, nor the ranger. I readied myself for attack glancing over at my Prince. I grew angery as I could not find my dagger, but instead withdrew the throwing knives from my hair. The bun uncoiled and the flames of blue in my hair raged more fircly it seemed. I stedied myself, and partially unsheathed my sword.
Fred Baggins
05-03-2003, 12:11 AM
ic: I looked to Aragorn, who seemed to be the one to give orders. Arin and Legolas on the north, himself and the dwarf on the east, Greyhelm and Boromir on the east and myself and the ranger on the south. T'was not long before the first warg attacked.
occ: Just to clear things up here. Resta is pretty tolerant of everyone, but suspicious of all. Dwarves he won't be rude toward like most elves, hobbits he may at times treat like children, he tends to forget himself. Most men he tolerates, all but rangers which he pretty much despises. He tolerates, but he can't stand them, Aragorn being the exception since he doesn't see Aragorn as a mere human nor ranger, but as a king. Of course he's not overly fond of kings either, since his father was one and we know where that got him. He's suspicious of all races including his own, though as uptight as I make him seem he can be quite a flirt when he wants and seems fit. Everyone got it get it good? Good.
05-04-2003, 02:15 PM
The fighting was fierce. Elves are, of course, skilled bowmen but the wargs were quick and snuck around so lightly even elves had trouble hearing them.
My bow rang for awhile until the wargs became to close. Then I unsheathed my sword. Resta was fighting gracefully dodging and sparring(?). Legolas at my side was using his knives, Serinity was using the daggers from her hair and fighting well. Aragorn too was skilled.
Between all of us the wargs were soon defeated.
"You fight well," I said, a bit breathlessly to Legolas.
He smiled, "And you Arin."
It seemd no one else could sleep so we headed out right then reaching Caradhras a few days later.
ooc: *ROFL* sorry I couldn't help it it was so...there!
Real ic: None of them sounded to inviting to me. Caradhras sounded the best but the child-the halfings might not be able to take it. Nor the men I felt sure. As for the dwarf, I knew little of the strength, but they where short and would likely meet the same fate as the halfings. I found myself staring at the ranger, without relizing and blushed. It had been an accedent, she was just someplace to stare.
Legolas to found himself staring, though not quite for the same reasons, nor at the same person. His thoughtful gaze fell upon Arin and slightly to his surprise rested there. Blushing he tore his gaze away. Women where complicated and it was usually best not to get tangled up with them.
The company gathered in front of the massive doors.
The young hobbit, Adrian asked what we all felt, "Now what?"
"We have to find the right words." Gandalf said. He immediatly spoke several phrases. Nothing seemed to work and we sat down to wait.
I seated myself next to Legolas, "I think we would have been better of in the Gap of Rohan. I'm not sure if it is wise to enter what seems to be an abondoned mine."
Fred Baggins
The Prince nor I feel we should take this road. And we would not even be here had not that dwarf suggested it." I looked over to Legolas who was fingering his bow, running a thumb up and down the taunt string. A sure sign he ws nervous.
*Legolas fingered his bow, unknowingly. He spoke to Arin.* "More dangerous than you know, if you have not heard of what makes home in these caves. The Gap of Rohan surely would have been the best way. Resta and I talked about it during our watches." *He thumbed the taunt string*
Lol, not that! I'm just as much a newbie as you! VSD stands for Very Secret Diaries. It's kinda a fanfic. Not a 'Moot thing.
"Aye, that is for certain. I cannot stand the areas around here, they are too...o, nevermind." I swept some hair out of my face, and unsheathed my sword. "There is something in unease in that water, and I feel nothing good is to come of it.
I shook my head. "There is to often a creature of the ark awaiting. But if the water is undisturbed, then we may have one hope of staying alive." I turned to the ringbearer. "You young master, especially should stay away from the water."
I nodded, agreeing with his concern. It was true, the ringbearer was almost the most important one on this journey... ok, so he WAS the most important. I reached down to my sock, readjusting the dagger that was contained, for I was sick of itt poking at my ankle, which I now found bleeding. I knelt down, and wraped it again.
I looked over at the ranger and felt myself smirk. "To bad. But then a ranger always knows how to take care of themselves don't they. Naturally."
*Legolas jabbed him in the ribs, and resta glared at him.* "In a nasty mood today aren't we Resta?" *Legolas hisses*
Ic:"Well, what ARE we going to do?" I asked impatiently, sitting on a rock and banging my head on it.
I went over to my sister and held her head up. "Don't do that, you know what happened last time Adrian. Please, I'm right here, Come on, let's go think together."
"Frodo, why have I been so impatient lately? I have never acted like this! Have I?" I asked, a tired look was in his eyes.
"Yes, you have Adrian. Right after mum and dad died, you started being unbearably impatient, banging your head all the time....I didn't know what to do, then, luckily, that's when Bilbo took us in....And you, you stopped acting like this....I don't know why you are now, but I do know that it will pass, with time," I said, holding her shoulder.
ic: "Hurry up, young ones, we must get across we do not want those wolves and such to find us, we must get through Moria and quickly. Now i believe that entrance is somewhere across this river, we shall go farther down till we find a crossing."
I hung my head in thought, what my brother had said had not helped me feel better, but it was a start. With a sigh I fingered the hilt of my sword, looking down at it.
I looked back at Resta. "O corse." And turned back to my mending. I had always been cold, or at least... almost always.It took me a molment to recall my past. Shaking my head as the imiges flew by, I stood and started onward, wiping a tear out of my eye. The past- my only true weakness, and never shall I let it show...
"Look. The ranger's cr-"
"Lord Resta, SHUT YOUR TRAP!" Legolas had cut him off with a sharpened arrow at his neak. This only made Resta smirk more. Relizing what he was doing he shoved the arrow back into the quiver. "Lady Serenity here has no reson to be the but of your harrasement today. Pardon me, Serenity, didn't mean to mock you, tis a habit. Resta, I will hope to speak with you a bit before Mithrandir discover's the password."
I gaped. Legolas was slow to temper, but when I let myself get out of hand Legolas would remind me with a sharp tounge. Though I was there to protect him, he was there to keep me in hand. It was rather degrading really. But after we argued for a bit, I gave in. Just time time to notice one of the hobbits about to throw a second rock in the water. I grabbed the hobbits arm and glowered at him.
"Did you not hear what I had to say of the water, or are you to dim witted to-"
This time it was Aragorn who cut me off.
"Forgive my rash tounge, young one." I said to the hobbit. "I am unused to traveling with your sort."
"I don't know what's wrong with him today." Legolas commented, seating himself next to Arin. "Woke up on the wrong side of the bed I suppose. He's always had a bit to much of his father in him." The prince shook his head sadly. "Even before the ring had consumed Resta's father, the man was a rash man, with a quick heated temper."
I nodded, head still turned away. Walking onward a bit, I seated myself on a rock. Hurricane had left to meet us on the other side. A smart horse she was. I relaxed a bit and cracked my knuckles.Sitting back, I tried t osee the gloomy sky. Had the sky ever really been blue? Never that I could recall.
Legolas wairly watched Resta grab his forehead, like he had a headache, and moaned. "Lord Resta, I will help you STOP that headache, if you wish it."
"Nay Prince, thankyou for our offer, but I will be fine."
He moaned again at Resta's rejection. ~Not again Resta. Don't get yourself in trouble~ he wairly thought.
"Serenity, how did you become a ranger," I pulled her hood down, to show her elven ears "if you are not of their kindred." I knew full well why. And that irked me.
I looked aaway, and drew back up my hood. "Why do you reach into the past? It holds nothing." I closed my eyes and thought back. My hood fell, and the blue flames seemed to flicker, groing larger wit heach second. Reopening my eyes, I looked at him. "There is nothing that can be done to change the past." I had to tell him something of a ranger " I am no ranger," I lied "That dagger you saw, I took it after killing one."
Fred Baggins
"You lie...d. You lied. That is offensive." I picked up a strand of her hair, feeling the blue flames. The silk flames. And grew angry with myself. "You're hair, it's different. The flames...came from a fire. Village girl?"
Lubyla
I quickly whipped my hair away, letting the flame singe his hand. At the same time, I pulled out one of the two daggers from my hair and had it at his throat." Well, not fully lied. The rangers whose dagger it was is dead, LORD Resta." The flame flickered in my eye for just a second. I lowered the dagger and replaced it in my hair.
I smirked. A satisfied grin. And laughed to see her expresion grow more agitated.
"Very well ranger, very well. This is no time for play, our company needs us." I bent down and whispered. "But remember...non of your telepathic stuff will work on me." I winked, and walked over to the little ones.
"Aaaahhhh! what are you still doing at the gates of MORIA!!!!! You shoudl be half way through Moria by now! AHHHHH! Pick up your stuff! let's go! Let's GO! And Pippin put down that rock! Has Strider said nothing to you about disturbing the water? Arg! Resta, now this i'm amashed of i thought you of all people would have been rushing them along. This isn't good, come on now, up, up, up, dont' dottle!" I screamed as i appeared out of nowhere. The shocked and gaping group followed me to the gate where Gandalf stood still trying to determine the password. "A tad rusty on riddles are we Gandalf? I figured the password out after about an hour of arrving here a couple days ago and when i didn't see you and the company in two days i came back to find you. And the password is, Mellon " Instanitly the gates of Moria opened and I stepped in and motioned for the group to follow.
I let out a small laugh, more like a sigh.Here we are going into a dingy cavern... MINE they call it, that has not seen the light of day since...too long. I rubed my forehead, and closed my eyes. What had I gotten into, why was I still hee? I said I was to leave soon after the start of the quest... and yet, I stil remained. I went to unsheath my sword on my right, forgetting in all my worries that it was, indeed, my morgul blade.
I blinked tiredly. "Of course. That's an easy one now isn't it. I should have been able to figure that one out." Shaking my head I helped everyone gather up there things and ushered them inside.
Then for a brief second I felt about to sick up. I looked over to the ranger, to Serenity and groaned.
"You know that fool blade just about got you killed. Put it away, before people begin to suspect. Before I begin to suspect."
I glanced behind to see something move in the water.
"Great." I mumbled. "I don't suppose we know a password to close that thing."
Saying nothing, I resheathed my blade, and unshethed my other. A common mistake with me. I gazed at the water and sighed. Here we went again. I had to ask myself again, Why did I even come?
"For the same reason we all did." I said while peering into the caverns and suddenly there was a shout from behind me..."Frodo, master Frodo!" I heard sam yelling, and Frodo's terrifying screams.
