Question on Osgiliath in TTT

Was Osgiliath even in the second book? That part of the movie really confused me. And I would like it if someone could explain what happened. Because I never remember Faramir being as evil as he was in the movie and I never remember him taking Sam and Frodo to Osgiliath. Another thing why was that Nazgul there I dont seem to remember that happening either. Hmmmmm...maybe I should change my name to totally confused?

None of that happened in the books. Thats why it was so confusing. And Faramir wasnt like that in the books either.

It might be helpful for you to reread "of Herbs and Stewed Rabbit," "The Window on the West," "The Forbidden Pool," and "Journey to the Crossroads" to refresh your memory about that episode in the books.
