this is all too fantastic. quite unbelievable. Sauron can not make another ring because a great part of his power and essence went into the Ring of Power. The ring was Sauron and Sauron was the Ring.

Tolkien does not portray him to be a loser, but an evil character in all respects.

The Hobbits were the perfect choice to take the ring and destroy it, because as Gandalf had said, Hobbits were creatures that Sauron had never paid attention to and so perhaps he would not notice their quiet footsteps in Mordor.

Haven't you read the books? Or did you miss the fact that the Lands of the West were setting up a ploy to distract his attention?

When Pippin looked into the Palantir Sauron thought that Saruman had him captive and therefore he thought that meant that Pippin was the Ring bearer because Saruman was trying to get the Ring, but when the Nazgul went to Orthanc after Pippin talked to Sauron they didn't find the hobbit there because he WASN'T captive.
They reported back to their master that the hobbit was absent from Orthanc which to Sauron translated as "The halfling is FINALLY being taken to Minas Tirith by Mithrandir." Remember Sauron suspected that the ring would be taken to Minas Tirith because he thought the Ring would corrupt their minds. Gandalf expected this, so he took Pippin to Minas Tirith as a ploy.
Aragorn then took the Palantir and looked into it, revealing himself as the Heir of Isildur and the one who would rule Middle Earth which kind of thickend the disguise because then Sauron's mind would be assailed with doubts which happened so Sauron showed Aragorn the Corsairs of Umbar and their alligiance with his (Saurons) army which happened to be composed of all the stinking Orcs in Mordor...so Sauron empties half of Mordor in preperation to over come Gondor.
Aragorn leaves for the Paths of the Dead and the Rohirrim ride to Minas Tirith's defense. Aragorn returns and flattens the orc army...but then he and the army of Gondor and Rohan ride to Mordor to create a HUGE diversion by offering themselves as ploys.
Sauron then makes two HUGE mistakes that cost him Middle Earth, his Ring and his life. He empties Mordor of the remaining orcs, and turns his eye and his thoughts (which communitcated and called to the Ring) towards the pitifully inatiquite army at his gates...because there were no more orcs left Sam and Frodo could slip past easily and because he was paying attention to the armies of Rohan and Gondor he didn't hear the Ring calling him until Frodo claimed it for his own at the Cracks of Doom...but then it was too late. The West had won.
That is one of the oldest tricks in the book...and he didn't get it.
Cheers,
sam
ps. dont call the hobits stupid.

It's "Udûn," people: "Udûn." :)

Anyway, thanks, samwise of the shire, great post, and especially:They reported back to their master that the hobbit was absent from Orthanc which to Sauron translated as "The halfling is FINALLY being taken to Minas Tirith by Mithrandir." Remember Sauron suspected that the ring would be taken to Minas Tirith because he thought the Ring would corrupt their minds. Gandalf expected this, so he took Pippin to Minas Tirith as a ploy.I'd never seen it that way before. Of course!

Considering that Sauron kept Middle Earth in terror for many long years, brought about the downfall of Numenor, and managed to build a terrifyingly strong empire several times, I'd hardly call him a loser.

Neither would I, but remember, he lost in the end, giving him the title loser;)

Yes I am waiting for the confirmation. I dont think it is too distant in the future. the way the things are going presently, is shocking enough.

Well Coney, my name appears in Finrod Felagund's sig. I don't think he hates me.

congressman, you are new and came in (let's say with a fighting spirit) You have made some threads that have been closed, and that's ok, because you are new and learning the ways of Entmoot. You shouldn't post unkind threads about the moderators though, just because they closed your threads. Maybe you should have read the rules and posting polices before you hit that agree button. Ya think?

BB? You dont like him BOP just because he likes LOTR...well ok I thought his "PJ is God" thread was a BIT much so. Maybe I like him because he's one of the few who agree with me on what I have to say regarding the movie...I dont know.
Congressmn dont feel bad. I thought everyone thought I was the most annoying idiot on the forum...that was until I discovered they were right. I got along much better after that. ;) J/K
You have some interesting questions and that's good...though I'm afraid to look at the Frodo was a blondy thread you put up because I think he was dark haired and I get kind of irked when someone says stuff that I dont agree with about my master.
You'll get used to us...trust me.
Cheers,
Sam
ps. It might help if you found someone who has the same intrests as you here and hang out with them...or if you find a favorite forum...that helps alot.

1. If he made another ring it wouldn't be The One Ring now would it! I can just see the revised poem:

Two rings to rule them all,
Two rings to find them,
Two rings to bring them all
and in the darkness bind them.

Somehow it just doesn't er... ring true! Oh I slay me!

2. The traditional answer is hubris, or false pride. It is inconceivable (i do not think that word means what you think it means) to Sauron that anyone would destroy the One Ring. It is similarly beyond the ken of many war-mongers to discussing disarmament. Also, he thinks his Lidless Eye will never blink so nobody could ever get in that deeply.

3. They were disguised.

Have you read the books? Because you're supposed to keep the books and movies separate.

No, the most hated person is usually someone who passes judgement on everyone else, makes blanket statements based on a preprogrammed politic agenda, threatens to ignore everyone who disagrees with him or her, and generally calls Tolkien in as his or her proof that everyone else here is stupid. You haven't had time to do all that yet, and if you try they'll ban you, so don't worry, change to a new nickname, and read the agreements before clicking OK.

Now I'm pissed (angry hobbit lover--don't mess with me). If you think of it that way, don't read the books, don't see the movies and don't come on sites like this. Here you wanted some logic: I gave it to you.
