The last time that I went to see TTT, my friend that went with me said that it appeared to her that some of the Elven archers that were with Haldir at Helms Deep were women. She also said that the scene at the Black Gate where Frodo and Sam were hidden under the Elven Cloak and looked like a rock laying there, that the two soldiers of Sauron that came over and was looking for them, that one of them was a woman. Did anyone else think this. I never did until she mentioned it.

Those soldiers are wearing a heavy eye liner that looks sort of Egyptian. The second soldier's eye make up is much darker than the first's. I don't know if that was intentional, but it does give the second soldier a more feminine appearance. I think that's what your friend saw.

I thought so, too. And I think Hama's "son" might have been played by a woman. I think they're setting up you know what.

Yup, you've gotta spot the one's without the 5 o'clock shadow:D

I didn't notice that any elves were women, but I did think that some of the Easterlings were, with all that black eyeliner.

I did notice that, I think they did use women extras for those presumably male roles. But I think the son of Hama was a boy.

wait, im lost, what's you know what? and what does it have to do with women extras?

(im not perverted, but i just wanted to know for sure if there were any lady archers at helms deep, so just look at their chest-areas. The cloaks are so tight across that i think you'd be able to tell.)

and you can look at their faces about 25 % of the time too. :D

They could also have been bound.

Okay, so we've decided not to bother looking at their "boobies"? :D

I was a bit shocked when I first saw the FOTR and noticed women archers at Lothlorien, but I didn't notice any women archers at Helms Deep. I had an argument with someone who reckoned Hama's son was a girl. I said he was a boy. I hope he doesn't read this, poor kid. :)

Women archers? I think it's more likely that male Elves are supposed to look more or less feminine in the film.

There were no women archers in Lothlorien. Are you talking about the two archers behind Haldir? They're both played by men.

I have heard that there were women extras at Helm's Deep.

Haleth, son of Hama was a boy.

While it may have been a feminine name in Gondor, it was probably a masculine one in Rohan.

Elves: Elves are pretty androgynous, so from a distance it's hard to be sure. No elves have facial hair.
Rohirrim: This is entirely possible, Eowyn said herself that many women learn how to fight.

And they're all wearing armour so stop looking at their chests you sickos! ;)

Hey, it wasn't MY idea. :p

To be honest their is not a lot worth looking at on an average elf's chest:( (did I say that out loud:eek: ;) )

Look at the way their cheekbones line up to hte rest of their face. All right, so it's not infallible, but it works a good chunk of the time.

Which movie is he in, what scene? Cirdan's more of a behind the scenes mover, the kind of character PJ tends to ignore (like Glorfindel.) I'm not saying it's good to ignore these people, but anyway, I'm not sure where hairy Cirdan appears.

IIRC, he appears in the prologue to Fellowship. And remember: Cirdan had a beard.

Now some of those elven archers are definitely female, I'll be bound. And at the Black Gate, one of the two Eastern/Southern/whatever they are soldiers who break out to inspect the area where Sam fell is without a doubt a woman. Eyeliner or no eyeliner, that is a woman. A woman!

You could be onto something there. The average kiwi bloke would be too much into their beer and rugger to nance.

BoP, I need to go back and watch the beginning of FOTR again. I'd look up Elves in the appendecies, but I didn't bring my books to university - I'd never get any studying done. :D:D:D

Transvestite rugby-playing archers with effeminate voices:eek:
