I would like to discuss and name nearly every way Jackson changed from Tolkiens original book. I find it interesting about how small, stupid, and unnecissary (I can't spell) some of these changes were.

This is from first, second and eventually third movie.

Note: Could be spoilers for anyone who has decided to wait for all 3 movies to come out on DVD to watch them (are there any of these people?)

1 The Birthday Party. (Extended Ed.) Where does Bilbo go off spewing his ever loving guts out to Frodo?

2 The Elves (E.E) why don't they at least greet the two travellers

3 Legolas's hair and eye color. why do you change the original brown/brown to silver/blue?

4 Where is Glorfindel?

This is all I can think of for right now.

Aloha!

The most horrific change in FotR, IMHO is:

TOM BOMBADIL!!!

There are threads with tons of posts regarding these changes. I suggest you use the search button since those threads offer a lot of detailed observations and insights regarding these deviations from the book.

Cheers,

the search button is indeed a handy feature. you can also post your thoughts about the two towers in the What People Think of the Two Towers thread at the top of this forum. Closing :)
