Aragorn is my favorite charecter in the movie, and not just because he is hot, which he is... I really like the way Viggo portrayed him. He is so strong and he leads the Fellowshp after Gandalf falls into the shadow. *sigh...*I cried so much when he tumbled off the cliff, even though I knew that he wouldn't die, because I read the books... It was just soooo sad! I also like Eowyn a lot. Miranda did an excelent job being her.

IMO, Wormtongue was the only well done character in the movie, with maybe Eowyn coming in a distant second. As close to perfection as Jackson has come.

Frighteningly I even enjoyed the little added scene with Eowyn and Wormtongue.

Gotta add, though, that I do love Christopher Lee. I thought he did a fantastic job with the crappy adaptation he was given.

hehe, I laughed when Haldir died, he was the worst elf I had ever seen!! >.< Gah....okay.
Fav. Movie character...*thinks hard*..um......*thinks* oh yeah! I liked the guy that played Eomer, despite the changes, they did good w/ the Eomer casting, and the part where he first meets Aragorn, Gimli and Legolas. A close second is Eowyn then Wormtounge.

Why would you laugh when Haldir dies? That was so sad.
I thought it was a great scene in the movie though.

I definately liked the guy playing Eomer too. He was great. Does anyone know the actors names who played Eomer and Eowyn?:) :)

P.S.~ I thought that move that Legolas did when he whipped on that horse was the best! Don't you all think so ?

Gollum,strangely...I liked his conflicting personalities. VERY well done, along with the superb special effects that made him possible. I actually felt really sorry for his patheticness.

I agree...I definately did not believe that Peter Jackson could have made a "decent" Gollum....he sure proved me wrong. Great visual effects.:cool:

I agree; he was so...non-Elvish. Though I didn't laugh or anything, I certainly wasn't all that sad. He didn't look like an Elf, he sounded like he was high when he was overlooking Caras Galadhon, and he mispronounced Caras Galadhon, despite the fact it is an Elvish name for an Elvish place, and he is (supposedly) an Elf; not to mention it's the city of the realm he lives in. He just was not an Elf to me. Too butt-ugly.

I laughed cause he was just...a terrible elf :p And I forgot about Gollum, pleasantly surprised on that. The actor for Eomer was Karl Urban and Eowyn was Miranda Otto....I think, :cool:

ummm oddly enough i reneg on my Haldir coments... he is still a gay elf (one of the gayest) but he fought and thats worthy of my acceptance... i loved the inclusion of the Elves to Helms deep it added a bit of valour to the roughnut Rohan peasants just till Eomer (should be Erkenbrand) and Gandalf arrive...
hehehe fav carachter old man who claims first kill what a legend what Honour...

and i agree Legolas thing was cool everyone craps on that that was just gay... one things was gay was "bring your pretty face to my axe" and legolas took him who else would have loved to see gimli take down that warg...

Are you sure Haldir mispronounced it? As I recall, his version sounded like "Karas Galathon." In RotK Appendix E:
"DH represents the voiced (soft) 'th' of English 'these clothes.' "
I could be missing something, but it sounds fine to me. How did you think it should have been pronounced?

I really like Haldir too! I was sooo upset when he died!

Well i liked all the characters but they were my fave because i like Aragorn and Arwen and Eomer too! But Legolas comes first!!!!

Viggo is awesome as the character Aragorn too. He is just how I imagined him to be.:)

He pronounced it with the "th" of thin, as opposed to the voiced "th".

damn frodo he was crap trying to kill his sam, i think he got drawn in by the power of the ring to early and unless they have the mountdoom scene early on in RotK then it will potray him as weak... i loved sam he was awesome (especially his little speech at the end very cool music there too), not enough of merry and pippin to judge.
Aragorn was great did anyone else notice at there cinema that when brego came after aragorn had fallen over the cliff and had started nosing into him that everyone laughed thinking aragorn still though it was arwen kissing him mmmmm, probly the same people that scowled at Sam when he said im his gardener and said sarcastic little prick...
gimli was awesome at helms deep (im glad they didnt pay attention to you Legolas mob and make it all one huge legolas-fest)
mmmmm in fact the question would have to be whos my worst carachter coz i couldnt pick a fault in anyone save frodo.

ps went and saw it again last night and First kill still gets laughs (maybe only from me) :p

I cried a lot at the scenes with Eowyn in them too! They were soooo sad! Eowyn deserves Aragorn!, not Faramir. Even though he is kinda cute...

Yes! YES YES YES YES YES! I absolutely ADORED Sam's end monolouge. On my second viewing, I almost cried. :p Yeah...that's me...sentitmental little person.:p But it was so touching.

Although he is not my favorite character I loved the way Grima was played. I thought it was almost perfect. As for my favorite character? I would have to say Bilbo (although he is only in fotr). I loved the way he was played it was perfect.

Ya! Grima Wormtounge was excellent! I really likes the yellowish orange circles (makeup) around his eyes, and his greasy hair. He really was perfect. I loved it when he cried ''Get out of my way!" when he ran from Theoden.:)

Definitely Sam. If you listen to the monologue properly (at least with my sense of humor) he's one of the funniest characters in both the book and movie. He's also the strongest and the one who sort of ends of being in charge of Frodo, making sure he doesn't use the ring and all. I love his speech at Osgiliath (I think that's where he is--I suck at picking up where they are, too enthralled with the moment I suppose) where he proves that there is still good in the world. Then at the very end when Sam and Frodo are going into the woods and talking. Then of course the back and forth bickering with Gollum is hilarious. I know I'll get hate mail and all other sort of beratement (trust me I'm used to it) but I think Sam is really, really hot--though height and hairy feet are sort of a turn-off, but his character, wit and personality are good enough to make up for it.

Accualy, I think that Sean Astin is really really hot! They made him gain 20 lbs to play Sam though... Have you seen the movie the Goonies? Sean Astin plays Mikie in it... if were just a little younger I would think he is really hot in the movie! Well, alright, I think he is really cute in the movie and I wish that he were my age!:) He is one of my favorite charecters in Rotk!:)

come to think of it sam was a highlight of the film not to slow on the sword drawing either when the rangers deck frodo he might just be the best fighter hehehe... one who is not a good fighter legolas with his dodgy punches in theodens hall... Eowyn was great cept they did that crappy - Aragorn gets beaten in a little sword crap - it was so obvious that they sped it up for her and her sword swinging was pathetic...
so yeah picked a few faults there but anyways, i always love sams speach and Gandalf charging into the uruks... hey is gandalf gay i thought he was married

I definitely have to say Aragorn, I think they casted great, and I am so glad they ditched Stewart Townshend whom they had originally!

Also, I think Sam is great, he was awesome in TTT, then of course we cannot discount Serkis as Gollum.

Saruman & Gandalf were cast great as well.

I could keep going, but I think I'll stop :D

I just realized Sean Astin is in a lot of older movies..he is in The Goonies(which I just realized..duh!) .....isn't he in that baseball movie ? I can't remember the name of it though.

I can't believe they made Sean gain 20 pounds!!!! I would have never done that if I were him! I don't see why they did it though, I didn't imagine him to be on the heavy side for some reason.

They originally had Stuart Townshend casted as Aragorn ?? I thought it was someone else but I can't remember the name?:confused:

Anyway, my fav. characters are Viggo, Elijiah, and Orlando!:) :cool: :D

YUP! YUP! YUP! They were not crappy!! It didn't look like they had sped it up either! And you have to admit that her 'The women of the country learned long ago that those who did not own swords, could still die by them.' speech was awsome! I don't know much about sword play, but she was awsome! And nothing you say or do will change my mind...:)

In what sense? I think that he is a great charecter! When I first started to read the lotr trilogy I was furious because they were about Frodo and not Bilbo! Bibo is really cool.it's sad when he goes to the Grey HAvens... I hope they show that scene in the movie!:)
