The fact that Gimli traveled to tol erressa intrests me the only of his kind to leave middle earth and enter the rhelm of the valar!

surely Aule would be keen to met gimli a creature of his making!

Does it state ne where if they met?

As far as I know, they stop talking about Gimli as soon as he goes West.

The question doesn't make sense. Do you mean:

Would Gimli have met Aule?

-Eglantine (grammatically)

I've only read the 'obbit LotR and Sil....and there is certainly no mention of said meeting in those.

Nice to imagine such a meeting tho':D *can feel a short fan-fic coming on*.

i dont think it says anything about that but in my opinion i would think so... its not a frequent thing that dwarves would go to valinor (did any others ever go??) and the interest would work both ways

I just read this the onther day in the apenix, however I am to lazy to go get my book so that I can quote it. It says that Gimlie passed over the seas, and that nothing else is said on this matter, that's all. It was the last line in the Red Book of Westernmarch, (I think) you can go search the apendix to see exsacly what is says.

IMHO he prolly would have, because Aule prolly would want to meet one of his creatures after they advanced. . .

Yeah, He got impatient waiting for the elves so he made his own Lil' People. But then Eru said they had to wait till the Elves were in the world before going into it, couse the elves gotta be the first born.

As far as I know Tolkien didn't write about Legolas and Gimli once they had left Middle Earth. But if they did make it to Valinor I think it would be very probable that Gimli met Aulë one day. It's interesting thinking how that meeting might have been. :D

Maybe someone should RP it...

Oh, I'm sure if Gimli went over there he met Aule. :)

I would think that aule must have met a dwarf before. Maybe he met durin(he was one of the seven fathers) but that would be nice if he met gimli.

I think Lord Manafirogh is right, Aulë did probably meet his Dwarfs in the Elder days. After all, he made them out of a desire to teach and nurture them. But because all stories from Arda is from the Elves' point of view, we haven't heard about it.

It is very nice to imagine Gimli meeting Aulë upon Tol Eressea. :)

Aule had already met some dwarves... the ones he created. He was about to kill them, but Eru stopped him because the dwarves had life and were scared of the hammer. It's in the Silmarillion.

Of course he's met dwarves, how could he create something without actually meeting it?

I know, Aranwe, I was thinking about the Dwarves after their awakening from their sleep. :)

Heeheehee! Just imagine that meeting:
Gimli: Oh my God!
Legolas: What's the matter?
Gimli: No, really! He's here!
