Ok, I just finished watching Fotr, and I read TTT a few days ago, and I wanted to start an RPG on the Palantir's of ME. Of course there are the known ones, the Palantir of Orthanc, now in Minas Trirth, the Palantir in the hands of the dead DenethorII Steward of Gondor....where are the others?
The storyline is basically this. King Elessar has noticed that his Palantir is acting strangely. He sees images of The Shire, Rivendell, and other places that he sees in glimpses. Elessar realizes that those in these places are activating their Palantir's. He assembles a company, hoping to account for all the Palantir's of ME.
There are many oppurtunities for characters, you can be n owner of a Palantir, part of the Company, or a bad guy. Join join! I'll play Astarien, part of the company, and maybe Palantir owner....not sure. JOIN!!:D

IC The King had summoned. His call has been answered. Now, those rode to Gondor, to Minas Tirith, to answer Elessar. I turned away from the Palantir. "Imladris, you are power." I whispered as I put the Palantir back in the box. "I will see your mind, Elessar, and I will conquer it." Morwen said.
I rode and rode. Imladris, far behind me. I reveled in the free wind and the clean air. "Noronoro, Aforoth!" I called to my horse. "Make haste, our ally calls!" I shouted.

OOC: Thanks for letting me in y'all... Let the journy commence!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
IC:
I had been traveling for more than a month now, and it showed. I looked down at myself and snorted in half-hearted disgust. My cloths were threadbare and missing more than a few buttons, and I could scarcely make out the detailed patterns tooled into my leather traveling boots through the countless layers of mud.
I stopped for a moment, and reached for the water skin hanging from my waist. I felt a slight tug on the reigns gripped in my left hand as behind me my horse, currently resigned to pack duty, put her nose down in the spring clover along the side of the path. I took a long drink, and looked around me. I was standing on the main road of one of the myriad small hamlets which surround the White City of Minas Tirith. Over the crest of the hill I could just make out the tops of the more lofty towers, the banner of Gondor and King Ellesar fluttering in the afternoon breeze.
“Valdorn my friend,” I thought to myself, “You’ve finally made it. Just a few hours more and you will finally get some answers. Most important of which will hopefully be the reason for my summoning.”
It’s not often these days for an elf to be summoned to the court of Gondor, especially when that elf happens to be a druid of the Wood Elves of Mirkwood, far in the north. Nonetheless, the human messenger the watchers had captured and dragged before our king made it clear that I had been requested in name by King Ellesar himself.
As I crested the hill a few minutes later, I was greeted by a sight unseen in the distant northlands. There she stood, Minas Tirith, the White Tower! And what a sight to behold! The great walls and towers glowed slightly purple against the setting sun, while the orb’s dying light cast upon the myriad of polished copper rooftops caused the city to sparkle as if she was naught but some overgrown jewel in the crown of the world.
About an hour later I had reached the main gate. Around me dusk was falling, and I reached the customs house just as the main gates were being closed for the night. I showed the guard the stamped and sealed letter of introduction given me by the messenger, and I was quickly let inside and shown to a fine inn, the Golden Gryphon, in the first level of the city.
Later, after a light meal in the adjoining pub, I returned to my room for some much needed rest. I, Valdorn Elarion, had arrived at last, following the directions of my letter to the T. Now all that remained for me to do was sleep and wonder why I had been summoned?
I picked up the plantir praying. "Please, please show me Frodo this time? I wanna see him again!" I struggled with teh plantir, but instead of seeing Frodo, the picture showed the white Tower of Gondor. The picture zoomed up to a wall in there, I tried to draw back afriad that the wall would become a permnent part of my face. Instead it went through the wall, and I was looking at His Majesty King Ellesar! Though he seemed not to see me. He looked puzzled at what it was he DID see though. Then the picture was black again. Dangit! No FRODO!
A graet Tower loomed into vision above caradhras.
''Palantir of The heavens hear my call!'' I had my hand over the palantir and my eyes closed. ''Let me see Gondor!'' The palantir of The heavens Flashed and there was a vision of Gondor.
''Palantir, show me Minas Tirith.'' The stine flashed and a vision of the city, Minas tirith, appeared.
''Show me The King!'' The palantir flashed and beheld a vision of The king sat on his Throne. I explored the courtyards of the King.
''Palantir show me where the closest seeing stone is!'' I commanded. A vision appeared of a Face and That face was of a Halfling.
''Palantir, hear my voice! Halfling of The shire! Who are you and How did you come to posses a seeing stone?'' I asked sternly using my power to break the Hobbits Will.
As I started to put the plantir down I heard to fearful voices...one more than the other, and that would be...*gulp* Aunt Fran.
"SARAH! Sarah Baggins! Where do you get off taking THAT from your father!? Does he know you have it?"
I kinda grined sheepishly. "No ma'm, he doesn't. He wouldn't let me use it at my age, what with what happened to Uncle Pip so many years back." I was funny to watch her, cause she kinda slapped her head, and muttered something about 'At least she's honest.'
"All right you wait right hear, I'm going to get your father to come get you and that plantir. You are in BIG trouble."
"I just wanted to see Frodo again. Besides, why don't you take it for me, to him?" She rolled her eyes and walked off. Then I heard the other voice again, and looked back into the palantir. "Um...I'm Sarah Baggins, though I'm not actually a Baggins, I'm a took, but the docter wrote my name down as Baggins on the birth certificate, so legaly it's Baggins. "Uuuummmm...I got it from daddy. Hey, I only wanted to see if I could see Frodo again! You know what, that's the good part about my legal last name is that I can pretend like I'm married to him...Frodo that is. Don't you think he was so brave the way he took the Ring the Mount Doom, and almost destroyed it himself. Of course it makes since that the Ring would over take him there, not even the strongest, which he was, could overcome the power of the Ring. I think...are you ok? You're rubbing your head the way Aunty does, when she hears to much noise."
''Your Aunty couldn't have put it a better way!'' I shouted into the Palantir.
''If you really want to see him, here!'' I made the palantir work. ''There! You can now use the palantir properly. Just as long as you swear not to look at anyone when their having a bath! especially me! And don't look into The Mordor stone!''
I frowned. Didn't the guy hear me say I was actually a Took? And if so, did he know his Took history? True, Brandybucks surpasse Took's by a long shot when it come's to curiosity, but...well my mum was a zbrandybuck, and besides that, take Uncle Pip as an example. Not that i wanted to look into the Mordor stone...but I wanted to know why he didn't want me to. Mordor was dead wasn't it?
As I entered Hobbiton, I heard an older lady, screaming at a younger hobbit. I opened up my compact. Sure enough, it was the house I sought after. Hopping of Ithilsila, I made my way up to the door, hopeing they would remember me.
Fred Baggins
12-31-2002, 10:33 PM
The picture started getting a little clearer, second by second. I saw what was once Mordor, a place where nothing would ever grow again. I heard hoofsteps, and thought at first it was from the palantir, but relized it wasn't. I tore myself from the picture and looked up...to see a site scarier than aunty...Princess Lubyla...opps...did I just say Princess? Dangit! I hid the palantir as well as i could...which wasn't to good considering it's, and my own size.
The Palantir swirled, and Morwen saw a halfling. "Ha!" she thought,"A halfling posseses a stone?!?" she laughed silently. Morwen extended her hand over the stone. "Palantir of Imladris! Show me Elessar!" Elessar appeared, dulled and old in his age, but still young in his eyes. "Show me the Lady of Imladris!" She commanded. Astarien appeared, riding to Gondor. "Soo, Elrond will send his eldest daughter into this? Oh, he will pay for interfereing!" Morwen turned away from the Palantir, and the image disappeared. She grabbed her candles and swept down the stairs into a hidden chamber. Inside this chamber was kept the books of Melko. "He certainly will pay!"
I was awakened by a loud knocking on the door to my room in the inn. Glancing out the window, the sky was just begining to glow in the east... It was at least an hour before full morning.
"Open up in there Mr. Valdorn!" came a voice in the distinctive accent of the Southern lands of Gondor. "By order of the King, open the door or be siezed!" repeated the voice, louder this time.
Instantly awake, I snatched my scimitar and long knife from where they were propped against the bed. Thus armed, I made my way to the door, expecting the worst.
"Who goes there in the name of King Ellesar?" I called out as I approached the door at a crouch. To my surprise, the mysterious knocker answered my query.
"My name is Captain Filgamond of the Gondorian Royal Guard. I have been sent to bring you before the King!"
"But how did you know where to find me, I only arrived last night, and what's the big idea of rousing me at such a Valar forsaken hour?" I replied, now more angry than worried. "Even the Elven need their rest, but now that you've woken me, I shall come with you before the king."
With that, I swung the heavy door open, revealing a man, presumably Capt. Filgamond, and three men at arms, all dressed in the livery of the Gondorian Royal Guard. The men looked as tired and annoyed as I felt. They were probaly cursing their luck at having been dragged out of their bunks by Filgamond, a real hardass by the look of him, who stood before the threshold with a look of practiced indifferance upon his face.
Turning from the humans, I quickly buckled on my belt, pulled on my traveling boots, adn threw my dark green cloak over my sholders. My blades were quickly sheathed at my sides, and in les than a minute I was ready to go. Things were starting early in the kingdom of Gondor.
"O..k. I see now." I turned to Lubyla, and smiled. "Are you kidding! I have homework to do! you know what teacher's problems are? Assigning homework over the break! Aren't they annoying! I never have anytime for fun anymore! Why I almost don't have time for food!" I heard a voice from nearby. "Did I hear 'food'?" i rolled my eyes, and changed my mind, falling to my knees. "I take that back. Take me with you, where ever you wanna take me to!"
Morwen turned back to the stone. "Oh, nice little party?" she noticed. "My one goal is to make sure that these Palantir's stay unaccounted for. These fools make it their goal to stay together, and, therefore be discovered!" She threw up her hands in defeat.
Astarien rode straight to Gondor, and into Minas Tirith. She was brought before Elessar immediately. "Aaye Elessar!" She greeted him. Astarien bowed before approaching the throne. "What does Gondor bid me do?"
Elessar smiled, "Wait and see." Just then, the captain entered with an elf in tow. "Now we shall see." Elessar whispered.
I looked deeply into my Palantir, and I let it roam, so I saw many things. But then something strange caught my eye. I saw Morwen, she was walking away from a Palantir, and I called to her, “Morwen, Do not hurt Astarian,” For I had known what she had seen. “Touch her or Elrond, and you can consider yourself dead.” She heard my voice, and came back to the Palantir.
“By whose authority?” she asked.
“Mine.” I answered.
“Who are you?”
“Do you not know? I am someone powerful.”
“How powerful?” she asked.
“Powerful enough.” I answered.
Then my image faded to her, and I again let the Palantir roam.
Just then, an arrow struck Morwen in the chest, and she died. Elrond stepped into the room. "Long have i known of this, Morwen. But now it is time I act." H epicked up the palantir and bore it into the Library of Imladris. "Keep this safe." He told Artuile, Keeper of the Books. She bowed and placed it on a pedestal in the middle of the tower room.
I rode with Lubyla, reluctantly. But hey it was an adventure, and got me away from Drogo. Yech, bothersome hobbit, Drogo Burrows. Always coming around and asking me to go on some form of adventure with him. Only turn him down because they don't go past Bree, and because he's the most annyoing creature on Middle-Earth. I rode rather uncomfortably, couldn't find a spot that was very comfortable, wondered if I should call my pony, or just go like this. Well, the pony will be off with Will, I'll call her when we get the the outskirts of the Shire. I reached into one of my pockets, then another and another. "Drat. Forgot my 'kerchief."
I reached into another of my pockets, and pulled out a small vial. I opened the vial, dropping two drops onto my hand, then rubbing the drops in, like soap. Then I hoped off the horse and onto my pony, trotting nearby. "Wea, that was fun!"
I rode up on a considerebly small Pony. My fett were still bumping on the ground the pony was that short and squat.
''Arghhh'' I shouted as I nearly flew off The front of the pony.
''Ha! What's with the small pony?'' Sarah chuckled to herself.
''Couldn't find a Horse! This was the only thing I could get! It was a bargain for ten-pence haypenny! Waah! Wooh!'' I shouted as once again I was nearly flung off the pony.
''The closer we get to the Mountains The better!! Once we reached the feet of them, I can call my Horse! ShadowStorm! He is a descendent of ShadowFax!!''
Elessar waited. 'Where are all the others?"
Artuile stood in front of the Palantir. "I am Artuile, I own the Elenartuile, Morning star Palantir of Rivendell." SHe said to the people in the Palantir.
OCC Those who are part of the company, please make your way to Minas Tirith, ELessar is waiting! :)
IC Artuile seemed invisible to those in the Palantir, but she waited and watched, occasionally catching glimpses of GOndor.
Astarien waited with Elessar. "Whom did you summon?" she asked after awhile.
"I summoned the best." Just then, the door burst open, and in came the captain.
Elessar smiled. "Greetings all." At his right hand, the Palantir began to flicker. He turned to it. "Ahh, Lubyla, I believe you have a Palantir yourself?" he asked amusingly. Astarien smiled at the company assembled. They look very brave and courageous, she thought. She herself slipped away from the chair and stood at the side of the hall.
ic: I stared at the king in awe. For the first time, it seemed the stories where coming true, or a little anyway. Before I could stop myself I found myself asking stupid questions. "Are you really a good healer? I mean you really saved Merry, and his friend?" Great I thought after I asked that. O well, I want them to think I'm just a hobbit, and nothing more.
Elessar smiled at the young hobbit. Athelas is the healer, and I am just someone who knows it's many powers. Remember young hobbit, knowledge is power." He stood, looking very majestic. "I have called you here, because I request knowledge. The knowledge of the locations of the Palantirs of Middle Earth. To know that these are in the hands of the just not the forces of evil. I know already now that Lubyla owns a Palantir, as I do, and Mordor owns one. I know a Palantir resides in Rivendell, and one resides in the Shire. But I know not who owns them. I have set before you a quest to find the Palantirs of Middle Earth." He sat and bade everyone sit as well. While he was talking, his mn had brought chairs in, and everyone sat down. He then leaned forward. "For the beneift of others, shall we introduce ourselves?"
Astarien sat with the others and began. "I am Astarien of Rivendell."
I still held on to the pack tighter than ever. And now I felt the kings eyes stare at it for a few seconds before traveling on. But I wasn't sure if he knew. And he didn't look much like a king in my opinion. More like a ranger. But didn't Uncle Pip say that he was a ranger at one time? I didn't care. I never trusted rangers, even if they did protect the Shire. He looked at me again.
"Sarah. Why don't you let one of the gaurds take care of your pack? Surely it hinders you? It looks quite heavy."
I stood up and curtsied. "Thank you sire, but it doesn't hinder me. I will hold it myself."
