ooc:I am starting this so you all can find out Awartha's real history...RPG style! Meaning you can join!
ic: ~Awartha Flashback~
A young elf, of no more than 50 years old sat talking with a dryad, a tree spirit. The dryad spoke to her in soft words, and looked as though it was about to cry.
"Your name, Awartha, means abandoned. I found you under my tree, when you where to young to remember. You where a baby, not even a full year yet. I took you in, and raised you as my own, I never saw who it was that left you, or what your real name was."
~Present~
Awartha sat upon a cream colored horse, riding tall and proud, and only if you looked closley could you see a single tear trickle down her cheek.

I was running beside Terwell, the red fox, when I saw a sad elf looking back at us.
<Hello. Who are you?>

Character Description
Name: Calien (the events in WME never happened!)
Race: Elf
Age: around 50
Appearance: black hair, gray eyes, a bit over six feet tall.
Special: Daughter of Herenvaryar and Alasse; granddaughter of Aragorn and Arwen (on mother's side). Best friend is a young fox named Terwell, nephew of Cyrell, Primrose Brandybuck's companion.
Personality: Can seem a bit carefree when you first meet her, but is actually fairly wise for her age.:)

Awartha nodded, a bit overwhelmed and surprised by seeing so many people coming over to her, when just a few minuets ago, she had been alone. It was the anniversary, or amoung her family, her birthday. Not that Birthday's mattered much to her, but she always tried to get home this time of year, and if she couldn't get home then just spend time alone. This was a year that she was close to her forest, and was going home. <My name? I am called Awartha, as well as many other things. but if you where to call me anything, just Awartha will do.>
Silverstripe
12-12-2002, 12:31 AM
It was only then that I realized I had only mind messaged Awartha, not spoken aloud.
I laughed. She would think I believed there was reason for secrecy!
"I'm sorry, I...am used to doing that," I said, knowing she would understand what I meant. "I am Calien."
Terwell didn't yet speak; he never did speak to anyone, until we knew that person could be trusted.
Fred Baggins
12-12-2002, 12:34 AM
*Laughs* I know what you mean! I do that all the time! It can get very confusing! Calien...are you not Arwen's Grandaughter?
Silverstripe
12-12-2002, 12:37 AM
I gave her a horrified look.
<Please, do not speak of that! It brings great danger! Yes, I am Arwen's grandaughter. How did you know?>
Fred Baggins
12-12-2002, 12:40 AM
I-I'm sorry, I just kinda knew it! Like it was stored in the back of my mind. *She did not truly remember who she knew it, but it seemed as though she always had...*
Silverstripe
12-12-2002, 12:43 AM
I sighed. "I understand. Or, at least, I think I understand."
<It's all right, just try not to mention that again.>
ooc: *whispers* Hint: say something about Terwell(or Cyrell if you'd prefer)
Fred Baggins
12-12-2002, 12:47 AM
ic: "What of your companion? I remember nothing about him."
ooc: *whispers* I have to get off now. Night!
Silverstripe
12-12-2002, 12:52 AM
I laughed. "You must know something, to refer to him as a companion and not a pet!"
<You think we can trust her, then?> asked Terwell.
<Yes.>
The fox walked over to Awartha. <Hello, I am Terwell,> he said, letting the elf in on his Link with Calien. <Friend of Calien, daughter of Herenvaryar and Alasse.>
Fred Baggins
12-12-2002, 07:59 PM
Well, I don't really belive in "pets." They are always companions, or, our masters! <Terwell? The name sounds familar, though not as a fox...It is good to meet you master Terwell.>

IC: There was a sparkle in Awartha's eye, as she saw the newcomer. She recognized him, but was bored. If his family wheren't with him she might have pulled out her bow, but instead..."Who are you, and what is your buisness?"
Duddun
12-12-2002, 08:33 PM
"I am Biredon, son of King Thranduil. My business is you looked familiar so I wished to see if you are who I thought you were. Awartha right?"
Fred Baggins
12-12-2002, 08:46 PM
*laughs* Bravo Biredon, bravo! One certantly can't pull the wool over your eyes! Yes, I am Awartha! Or...so I belive! *A black nose pocked out of her pack, and she laughed more. She pulloed a black puppy out of the pack, and craddeled him in her arms.* O be quiet Galu, my little bundle of blessings! I belive I have a reason to laugh if I want, even today!

*At the same time, in almost the same place, 2 Elves are riding their steeds. They see Awartha, Briedon and his Family, and Calien, and they start riding towards them. they come upon them, and the Female Elf says:* "Vendui' Melloni!" (Greetings Friends!)
Duddun
12-13-2002, 12:59 AM
"Hello!" I said in a merry voice. This elf also looked familiar.
OOC: Your playing Losi' right?
Ms. Undomial
12-13-2002, 01:37 AM
ooc: Yes, of course. :)
"Hello, are you not Briedon?" I then looked at Awartha and Calien. "Awartha, nae sian luume." (Awartha, it has been too long.) Calien, Cormamin lindua ele lle. Sut lle Atara?" (Calien, My heart sings to see thee. How is your Mother?)
Silverstripe
12-13-2002, 02:04 AM
"It's wonderful to see you again! My mother is well," I said.
Hello, Losillewen! And Awartha, you're right. The first Terwell, the one I am named after, was not a fox. Although he now spoke aloud, few could understand him.
Ms. Undomial
12-13-2002, 12:13 PM
"That is good. How is Your Father?"
I then said to Terwell: <Hello Terwell, You have grown!> I Laughed.
"I am sorry, I have not introduced my self. I am Losillewen, if you do not already remember me. "
Silverstripe
12-13-2002, 01:04 PM
"My father is also doing well. I was off to a meeting of sorts, but as you can see, I got a bit sidetracked!" I laughed. "Not that anyone will mind, these meetings tend to be a little unusual anyway.
Most of those I was to meet with would not be comfortable around this many new people, so they had probably moved the meeting. I knew where to find them, but decided I wouldn't go join them yet.
Terwell barked. True, he was fairly big for a fox, but ...
<I've grown? Look at Calien!>
Ms. Undomial
12-13-2002, 01:34 PM
to Terwell: <I know! she has indeed grown, and so have you, since our last parting.>
to Calien: <Where are you off to?>
Silverstripe
12-13-2002, 01:35 PM
<To meet with Terwell's people. We have some things to discuss.>
Ms. Undomial
12-13-2002, 01:42 PM
<May I come? or would you like to go alone?>
Silverstripe
12-13-2002, 01:46 PM
I smiled. <Yes, you may come. The foxes know you a bit, so you won't frighten them.>
<Yes, come with us!> said Terwell joyfully.
Ms. Undomial
12-13-2002, 01:50 PM
I smiled at Terwell, <May my friend come with us? He will do your kind no harm, for he loves all creatures.>
Silverstripe
12-13-2002, 01:52 PM
Terwell hesitated. <Many foxes will be wary around strangers. I am not sure if they will wish to say...>
I cut him off. <Who is your friend?>
Ms. Undomial
12-13-2002, 01:55 PM
<Calien, I would like you to meet your new great, great, Uncle, Mahalmon. >
Silverstripe
12-13-2002, 02:02 PM
I smiled again, and this time, the smile turned into a broad grin.
<In that case, I believe the foxes will accept him. Terwell, do you agree?>
<Yes. Although...> he let Mahalmon in on the Link for a moment, too, <You should both be careful. My people are not easily frightened, but we can be far too cautious about trusting people.> Especially at a meeting, for the foxes were more than they seemed, which even Losillewen didn't know.
<You realize you will be expected to swear to secrecy about anything you hear?>
*to Mahalmon*
"I am pleased to meet you."
Ms. Undomial
12-13-2002, 02:11 PM
Mahalmon: "Vendui', Calien. Losillewen has told me much about you. "
Losillewen: <When do we leave? For we were making our way to King Thranduil, and we were hoping to get there by this afternoon. How long will the meeting take?>
Silverstripe
12-13-2002, 02:15 PM
I shrugged. <I don't think it will last TOO long. You can leave the meeting at any time, though. It's not unusual.>
Among foxes, it was perfectly acceptable to leave a meeting while someone was talking.
Ms. Undomial
12-13-2002, 02:22 PM
I asked again: <When do we leave?>
Silverstripe
12-13-2002, 02:31 PM
<Oh, for the meeting? Terwell and I are on our way there now. If you wish to come, follow us!>
I began to run again, Terwell at my side, for the meeting of foxes. Little did I know then what great evil had befallen the group in meeting...
<Wait!> I heard Losillewen call. I stopped immediately. Terwell ran a few more paces, then stopped and returned.

Awartha sighs "O, Galu you stinker! When will you ever learn?" The puppy barked again, then the bark turned into a growl. "Galu, what is wrong? I would know if there was danger, so what trpubles you?" The puppy turned to her, with a look that should have been hard to read. "O, Galu stop playing tricks on me!" The puppy 'smiled' and jumped out of her arms and onto the ground. "Galu! We have to go! ARGH!" She climbs off the horse and starts chasing after the pup, then runs into someone. "I'm sorry," she quickly apologizes, then looks up, and shrinks from the person...or rather the dryad. "I-I'm terribly sorry sir, I did not mean to, I really didn't!" Her apologies are quick and full of fear. The others turn to look at her and the Dryad. The fear passes through them to, though it was greatest in the mind of Awartha, for she knew who he was. "I'm terribly sorry m'lord. I did not mean to."
At last the dryad spoke. "Awartha, your comming has been long awaited. What has taken you so long?"
"O, o I'm terribly sorry, but I have been on urgent buisness, you see I was in another deminsion of Middle-Earth, and I just got out a few days ago, and was wraping things up. I traveled my quickest Lord, but my horse is so young, and carefree, that he does not seem to want to go at any other pace than what he wants, and I am so new with horses m'lord that-"
"That's quite enough. You could talk my ear off if I let you talk anymore. Who are they? And please, keep it breif." He spoke the word "they" as though it was a cuss word.
"Friends of mine Lord." The puppy yipped, and the dryad laughed, bending down to pick it up. As he bends, you notice how entlike he is.
"Galu, still causing trouble I see? Awartha, what will you do with this puppy?"
"O, I don't know Lord." She laughs a little. "It is true about him causeing trouble, for he will not be quiet!"

Terwell and I tried to leave for the meeting of foxes, but again Losillewen said gently,
<Wait, Calien.>
I stopped.
<Is something wrong?>

I heard of her troubles with the horse, and laughed, a bit of a musical laugh that rang out all about, as I fell off my horse, and everyone staired at me. Yes I remember that horse. One of the five most difficult to train of mine anyway. It was then I recagnised her, but did not move, for fear of the Dryad.
Fred Baggins
12-15-2002, 04:58 PM
The dryad turned to the others.
"What are your names, speack or risk death. For you are on Dryad land, perhaps unintentialy(sp) but that lables you as potential spies anyway."
Awartha wanted to object, but he was her ruler.

I motioned Calien to wait and I told her to come to my side. I then rode back to the others and I showed her the Dryad. the Dryad then turned to us and asked us our names. I answered: "I am Ilye, this is my friend, Menelwe. Who are you?" I mind messaged to Calien: <Please let me do the talking, this is a strange being. I have met his kind before, most of them are not too trust worthy.>
Fred Baggins
12-16-2002, 09:44 PM
"I am the keeper of the dryad lands..a king of sorts. And you are tresspassing on my land." (I don't know a name for him yet)
*The puppy yipped again, now cuddled in the dryads arms. The dryads face darkened and he looked back at 'Ilye'*
"Why do you not trust us Iley? Don't deny it, your eyes have given you away already."

"No, Starletta, stay. Please, he didn't mean it." glares at dryad "He's just trying to be intimidating. Of course there's no doubt he could rip all of us limb from limb, and if you just look at him, then you're sure he could. Truth is he wouldn't hurt a fly...m'lord..." *smiles apologeticly at him*

*glares at her and sets the puppy down* 'Perhaps you shouldn't come back this year Awartha."
What do you mean! I always come back! It's tradition!
'Our forest is being cut down, mo-mother's tree has been killed."
"Mum's tree...what, but how! HOW COULD THEY DO THAT! MIRKWOOD ELVES! A CURESED BRED OF ELVES! I CURSE THEM! I CURSE-"
"Awartha! Don't talk like that! The elves...it wasn't just them, though they had some part in it, but mostly it was the doings of men."
*Cries*

12-16-2002, 10:09 PM
I smiled at the Dryads reply. if he had truly read my eyes, then he would now know my real name, and my nature in coming here. I then said to him: "I tresspass on no ones land, and I trust no one when I first see them, even when I first see elves do I trust them. "
Fred Baggins
12-16-2002, 10:18 PM
"I see..." (Yip! Yip!) "...Losillewin" (Yip, yippety, yip, Grralien) *Thinks* ~Grralien...o, Calien!~

12-16-2002, 11:14 PM
at the mention of my real name I turned my self and Calien invisible. I said to her: <there are few who know of your real name. I do not trust this Dryad, now more than ever. Go back to Terwell, I will come soon.> she nodded and left. I then became visible, and I said: "Who are you?"
Fred Baggins
12-17-2002, 12:07 AM
~Um...Am I doing bad Awartha?~
*shakes head* ~That would be affirmative.~ "Losillewin, he is a friend of mine. We call him Onodrim back home. He's just doing his job, and that whole knowing you real name, was a little mind...reading..type..thing...trick thanks to Galu. If you followed any of that. You know what, never mind, let's just go m'lord. I just wanna go home." *Turns toward the forest, leaving all behind, but the dryad, who is still carring the puppy.*
~Flashback~
"Some leader Onodrim will be! Can't even beat me wrestling!"
"I let you win! I wouldn't try to hurt an elf!"
"O, shut up Ono, stop with the elf cracks!"
"Well you are!"
"And your point would be..."

I turned and sped off in the direction of Calien and the others. I came upon her and I said: <Calien, stay away from that Dryad. I--" I was cut short. It had begun again. I silently asked Calien: "Calien, " she nodded, for she knew what had to be done. But the strange thing was that I posponed to touch her. My eyes slowly turned a black, and I knew that I must do it soon or it would be too late, but I still waited, it was as if I knew that something would happen if I touched her too soon.

I started getting worried -- if Losillewen didn't do something soon, she'd die! Why wasn't she taking my energy? I had, after all, given her permission to do that!
I hesitated a moment, then reached up and grabbed Losillewen's hand, bracing myself for the pain I knew would come.

ic: Calien hesitated for a moment, and then she reached up and touched my hand. she fell to the ground in pain, I dismounted and knelt beside her. I looked at her strangely, for there seemed to be more pain in her face then usual. "Calien," I said "Calien what is wrong?" it was as if she did not hear me, for her face was still wrenched in pain. I looked into her mind and I found out what was wrong. "Oh dear Eru, not now, please not now." I muttered. but to my dismay it was true. "Kaima, Calien." the pain ceased and she fell into a uneasy sleep.

Terwell looked at Calien in horror, knowing what had happened, for he felt a strain on the Link. It frustrated him; the very fact that he was alive should keep Calien alive! But now something was terribly wrong, and soon Calien would be doomed. Terwell turned to Losillewen.
<Without healing, she won't live long.>

I shook my head and said to Terwell: <We must get her to her mother. Terwell, can you go to Gondor and find Alasse? if you can, then bring her to Lothlorien as soon as possible. She needs the light, and maybe more. Hurry! I will take her to Galadriel, and there I will await you!!> I put Calien upon my horse, and I mounted behind her. "Noro lim Namarie!" ic: we came upon Lothlorien a day later, and we entered the city. I took Calien to Galadriel, and Galadriel said:
Galadriel: "What has happend?"
Losillewen: "My surge happend not too long ago, and she..."
Galadriel; "I see. You must send for Alasse."
Losillewen: "I have done so, she should be here soon. should we wake Calien?"
Galadriel: "Yes, You may do that."
Galadriel left, and I slowly started to arouse Calien. "Calien, Wake, for the dawn is come."

ic: I woke to find myself in Lothlorien. I knew exactly what had happened and what had gone wrong... but why, I did not understand.
After Terwell arrived in Gondor, it didn't take long for him to find Alasse. <Alasse...Calien, the Link, she...>
Alasse had looked into his mind to find out what was wrong; she knew that was what Terwell wanted her to do. <I'll be there as soon as I can.> Alasse told her brother what was happening, asking that no one accompany her. Then she leapt on Ellaire and raced off to save Calien.

ic: "Calien," I said "Has the pain ceased?" she shook her head, and her hand went to her heart. I nodded and said: "Your Mother will be here soon, but I fear that we might need more than just the light."
it was another day before Alasse arrived. I met her at the boarders, and said to her: "Alasse, I am glad that you have come." she inquired about Calien, and I simply shook my head, and said: "She is not well, she has been asleep most of the day.. a very painful sleep. Losillewen, I fear our time of being able to hide from the rest of Middle Earth will soon end... but that is not why I am here. ic: <Yes, there is something you can do. Please travel to Imladris and bring Astarian and Elrond to Lorien. They have the other Rings, and I believe that we will need them. Namarie, ar Anar Caluva tielyanna!> They left and I took Alasse to Calien.

Obediently, Terwell stopped and returned to the spot he'd left Losillewen. After all, Mara was right -- and even if she hadn't been, she was his leader.

*The puppy settles into her arms, hiding his nose in her sleeve. For once he is quiet.*

As Mara and her small company of foxes ran to find the ringbearers, the black fox heard something calling her. She turned to Zarai. Take the others to Imladris. There is something I must investigate. Before any of the foxes could protest, Mara was off, running, though she did not know it, towards Awartha and Starletta.
You heard Lady Mara. Let's go! barked Zarai. The rest of the foxes continued on their way to find Elrond and Astarien.

*A hobbit sits in the Wise, and to see her, would now who she is. She does not leave the Wise much anymore, unless the need is great. She felt something calling to her. It was her friend, Awartha. Something was wrong with a friend of hers. There was being a calling of Rings. but she felt she should not interfear, for her ring ment so little*
~Fran...Fran, please, I feel you are needed. please hear me Fran.~
*The puppy yipped something at Starletta*
He thinks you should come! That settles it for one never goes againts HIS council! *At that moment they where approched my a fox*

Mara continued to run towards "the woodsy place" until she saw...a Dryad! An elf and a human were there, too, and though the cautious Mara would ordinarily have hidden, something about the situation made her unusually bold. (She was, after all, the mother of Cyrell, possibly the most courageous fox who ever lived.) So while she did not speak to the group, she stood in plain sight, watching them.

Then I shall come. I fear I am not of much use though, for I am but an ordinary girl(ooc:not realy)
~** In the midst of Lothlorien, Lubyla sat, gazing into her compact, whaching.* Where could thous two have gotten to?Four for the hobbits: Pishpash. I hold one, and I gave one to Lady Goldberry, for she is/was my best friend. I am no hobbit. Hopefully though, I ca find it.

*The hobbit looked up, startled. She was being watched...but by whom?*
*bends down to look at the noble fox*
*The puppy looks at the fox, and wriggles out of Starletta's arms, yipping at the fox*
*Looks at the Puppy then at the fox* Galu says he summoned you.

Mara barked. Now she was certain she could trust them ... or the elf, at least. 'Yes, I believe he did. Why, however, remains to be seen. Ah, noble Dryad! I have not seen a dryad in many years.'

*nods* "We keep to ourselves now. We are fearful of outsiders, of those who are not our kind, except our cousins the ents."
*The puppy yaps a bit more*
"He says...that...he smells death. but that isn't why he called you...I can't tell what he's saying, he's talking to fast. Ono, do you think you can tell?
"Maybe, if he'd...slow down."

"In this, your people are much like mine," said the black fox.
"The-the puppy smells death..." Mara hesitated, then realized where she was, "so do I, perhaps because we are near the place where foxes used to meet, and it was there where many of the best of our people...were killed. But then, it seems to be something different!"

Fred Baggins

"Tell him anything? No, what would I tell him? I don't understand anything myself."
*One of the dryads behind her spoke quietly* "Awartha? Galu? Who is your friend?"
*Awartha spun around throwing her arms around the dryad* "MUM!!" *She began to weep* "You still live! I thought your tree was cut."
"Yes, my Awartha, my elf-daughter, I still live. When will you be home! We have planed a great celebration for your 300 annivarsary"

Nay Starletta, I do not know him.

*I began to toss a bit, for I did dream, Morier was comming, along with his rider, as the rider was shot to the ground, after a fleet of arrows showered passed his head, being hit by one, of pure black. Standing there over him, as he died, was an elf, clad in white, not a drip of blood on her, not a stich of armor on her, only her bow and blade did she carry. All she did was pull out a compact of silver colour, and stare into it, as a horse of silver rode and picked up the dark rider.*

"A westrenes soldier approches. We could be able to use your help. Draw your sword, and show no mercy."
*The soldier fast approched. Starletta ran at him with her sword. He spoke.* "Starletta of the rain, hold your sword. You would not hurt another woman of Rohan..." *Here she pulled of the helmet and mask that covered her face* "...would you?"
*Her face was fair, and young, she looked no more than thriteen to fifteen years, but younger than Starletta. But if you looked into her eyes, you would behold years of sorrow and pain, and still not know what she had seen. Perhaps Starletta had a bit of n idea though...*
Lubyla
12-23-2002, 06:41 PM
No, I wouldn't. You startled us. What is a rider of Rohan doing so far from her home?
Fred Baggins
12-23-2002, 06:44 PM
*She laughed a little* I'm afraid I don't ride much with Rohan anymore. HAHA, not since my last little escapade."
"Starletta, you know her?"
Lubyla
12-23-2002, 06:46 PM
Yes...once...I think.
Fred Baggins
12-23-2002, 07:02 PM

"Ack, long story, and I don't think I better tell you here...is that a dryad! Neat! I always wanted to meet a drayd."
Lubyla

Fred Baggins
12-23-2002, 07:50 PM
"You can't be 17! I'm 14 or 15!"
Lubyla
12-23-2002, 07:56 PM
What do you mean? I am only of 17. I have lived in Rohan, and was born a few years after the battle of Helm's Deep. Why does this amaze you?
Fred Baggins
12-23-2002, 08:03 PM
"Born after Helms Deep. But I was IN the Battle of Helms Deep...well not in it, but I saw it, and I was four. And not only that, but you raised me after Helms Deep, until you disapeared a few years back. We all thought you where dead!"
Lubyla
12-23-2002, 08:04 PM

Fred Baggins
12-25-2002, 06:19 PM
*Laughs* Cloud is it? Well then cloud, tis nice to meet you!
*Shifts nervously.* I must take my leave of you kind people. I am sorry. *Runs off into the forest, and anyone watching might have seen a porthole open up, and she ran through it, then close behind her.*
Lubyla
12-25-2002, 06:30 PM
Would you like to feed her? She'll love you after.*holds out hand with carrots*
Fred Baggins
12-25-2002, 07:44 PM
"Sure" takes the carrots. "I wouldn't mind having a horse like her. She's beautiful, and well behaved to."
Lubyla
12-25-2002, 08:37 PM
I trained her. As did I train Dream. They are the same age, and were almost born together.* Cloud walks over and takes the carrots*
Fred Baggins
12-25-2002, 08:43 PM
"They are beautiful. If I had a horse this beautiful, I would call her Sky Child. Of course it would be a mare, not a male. Men are so-"
"Ahem..."
"O," *laughs* "Sorry Ono."
Lubyla
12-25-2002, 08:50 PM
Well, male horses do seem to get testy, but are good for war, which is why I train them too. These two girls are my only true horses.
Fred Baggins
12-31-2002, 06:35 PM
*whispers to Awartha*
"O, we kinda have to get going now, but you can walk along."
