I'm sorry, assorted Brits/Kiwis/People who are in countries other than the U.S., you might not have seen this.
About 1 hour, 40-something minutes ago, The Lord of the Rings TTT Preview thingy aired on WB. Anyone catch it?
The thing that rankled me was the apparent stupidity of the writers, who kept on calling the Rohirrim "Rohans". *Dies*
Other than that, it contained a startling amount of info I did not know. *Kick* Dumb me. *Kick* Dumb me...

I started to watch it, but as soon as I saw the actors out of costume and the cameras, I went back to my previous business. I don't want to see a movie being made, I want to see "The Two Towers" on a movie screen! I want my beautiful Tolkien story, thank you! :) Do you have snow Claenoic?

Do they get a new actor as well after that? Can the same treatment be arranged for all the other actors (except Bilbo) and for Peter Jackson and co. as well. They all drowned in a river and made no more films, hoorah!

I thought this special was pretty good. From listening to what was being said, I gathered that they were attempting to shoot a scene where Aragorn is injured and floating unconcious down the river, but he ended up in the rapids and was pulled under about 15 ft. He said he had run out of air, but he managed to push of against a rock and was propelled to the surface.
They also showed the part where Sam was impailed through the foot by a huge piece of glass and had 20 stitches.
Orlando Bloom is quite the wild child. Really into dangerous sports and such. They talked to him about breaking his back and he pulled up his shirt to show the surical scar. Yikes, that was a bad operation.
One thing I liked was how they worked so hard to make the movie seem so real. The filming of Helms Deep in the rain in the dark of the wee hours of the morning. Thousands of extras and the cast actors were just exhausted.
How they were going to film a part that in the books was a summer scene and they awoke to snow. They got huge fans and heaters to melt all the snow, along with fire hoses and shovels.
Also how they were all away from home for so long from friends and family. Some of them were very homesick, but the cast became very close in that time. Sean Astin even made a little movie about it at the end as a sorta keepsake.
I call that dedication.
OK, I'll shutup now.:D

I'm going to pretend you didnt say that :(
what happens supposedly is either after fighting, or after falling off a Warg, he is tired and feels defeated. Arwen comes to him in a dream and they do the lil elvish talking thingy. Everyone thinks that he is dead. From what I've heard that is the only appearance of Arwen with Aragorn in the movie (so she wont play the jealous GF coming up to Rohan to check up on Aragorn when he's w/Eowyn :)

"When have I been hasty or unwary, who have waited and prepared fo so many long years?"

No! That was eloquent, that was beautiful, that was utterly insane. How long did it take to type all of that? I hope you didn't get a cramp :(

Wow. I didn't see it myself, but a friend of mine saw it and raved about it for almost twenty minutes. I was jealous. Poor Andy Serkis, having to do that Gollum scene in the freezing water the day it snowed...

At the end of all of it, they showed a great preview to the movie, and I have to say it is impressive.
The first movie was ok, and I must say that I have always been one that did not like the idea of the books being brought to the silver screen and I have always been critical of that, but now after viewing FotR several times and seeing the effort that was put into these films, even if it isn't all consistant with the books, and even if I do not agree with what has been done in the films, I admire the dedication and the effort. After seeing all they went through, it makes it a little easier to overlook mistakes or omissions from the books, but the books will always rule.

Four times, remember, FOUR times... O.o I'd be dead then. As Elijah said to Sean, "This guy is scaring me, dude."
