ok, i downloaded TTT theatrical trailer and was watching it with my sister. When it'd finished she said "That can't be right, there's an error!"
What's the error? Here it is (please excuse spelling etc!):
Theanor: You must lead these people to Helms Deep, by order of the king, the city must empty!
I thought the fighting was at Helms Deep, someone help me! :( :(

Yes, but the townsfolk were armed and hidden away in the caves behind the walls of Helm's Deep, if my memory serves me rightly.

Nope, in the book the townspeople were led away into another refuge. The name escapes me (Dunharrow?) but not Helm's Deep.
This presumably allows Eowyn to not appear to be dissobedient to Theoden, while enabling her to chat up Viggo in the process, as well as be an obvious fighter (as dernhelm she was in disguise, which can now be dispenced with).

no there is no mistake there Helms Deep is the people of Rohans stronghold that the people can go to and be easily defended...
no when she would have been dissobediant to Theoden is when the Riders of Rohan rode to help[ Gondor... thats when she took up the alias of Dernhelm... as far as i know thats the only time she fights...

Yes, but my point on disobedience was that for her to appear at Helm's Deep if they'd kept dunharrow in, was to be disobedient to Theoden telling her to lead the people there. By combining Dunharrow and Helm's Deep she's managed to wrangle her way into a battle and a chance to cosy up to Aragorn :)

It's not "Theanor", it's "Feanor".

Yes, and helms' deep is where the magical pixies live....
What if Aragorn goes straight from Helm's deep to the paths of the dead, through the glittering caves. That'd be rubbish and throw the geography totally. Stupid directors....
