I got mine about two weeks ago. And it's a PAL set, which means it looks waaaay better than the crappy US NTSC set.

Yeah, the Extended edition is waaaaaay better than the regular edition. It stays a lot cloeser to the storyline of the book.

Anduril, what's a PAL set?!PAL and NTSC are colour formats. Different countries use different colour formats in their broadcasts and productions. The US is one of the loser countries that used NTSC. Losers.

PAL = Phase Alteration by Line.
NTSC = National Television Standards Committee

Resolution PAL = 720x625 NTSC = 720x480Scan rate PAL = 50Hz NTSC=60HzPAL has the greater resolution, so it looks better. The difference in frame rate (PAL's 25fps vs NTSC's 30fps) is virtually unnoticeable.

If you have a multi-system TV and DVD player (i.e. supports playback of both PAL and NTSC), and you live in the US (or any other country that uses NTSC), you should order your DVDs from an online retailer from a PAL country (i.e. UK).

I have the Extended copy, except I can't watch it during the week seeing as i have to get up for school at 7:00 am! I'll have to wait until Friday or the weekend, it's sooooooooo unfair! :mad: :mad: :mad:
