Suppose PJ never filmed the LotR and that Spielberg wanted to make his own version of the Lord of the Rings. He invites you to be on the movie, and you get to choose what character to play, whom would you choose to be?

Well idealy I'd be Legolas just for the fact that he's the greatest character in the books and I'd love to be part of the Fellowship but as I'm a girl I'll have to say Arwen just because SS wouldn't have to fork out on the wig- my hair is very much Arwen-esk Liv Tyler style and natural- I didn't have extensions because of the film!!! Also if they had someone v.sexy playing Strider I wouldn't complain. Mx

ET..........oops I mean Gollum (well they do look kinda similar, the eyes do anyway:rolleyes: )

Seriously, it would have to be Faramir.........great character, let's hope PJ/the actor does him justice *can almost hear whispers of "fat chance"*

Wow!! That would be a dream come true!!! :)
I would like to play Arwen! She wears really pretty dresses and gets to ride horses and see Legolas!! Someone nice would have to play Aragorn though!!
Spielburg would never do a better job than PJ ever!!!!!

Aragorn, defiently! He gets to do the coolest fight scenes, and he ends up becoming(SPOILER if you haven't read the books)

The King of Middle Earth!

However, if Aragorn were taken , I'd have to choose Gandalf.

Eowyn of Rohan
11-28-2002, 07:13 PM
Without a moments hesitation I'd want to be Eowyn. It's a dream role! As an actress myself, it really appeals to me - High action, high emotional development and drive. Quite a challenge. I hope Ms. Otto is up to it. Aside from the acting challenges that playing Eowyn would deliver, the role simply is the most common to myself. Very passionate, head-strong, potential for great deeds.
Call me Steven... you need look no further!

I would want to be Éowyn too. She is my favourite character from the books. I totally agree with everything Eowyn of Rohan said in her post!:D

Orc #8797... well, that's all I'd be fit for. I think my sister would pass as a young elf... and my cousin IS a hobbit! She's short, has curly hair, and... I dunno.:D

hit the nail on the head BoP...
umm id probly have to go Gil-galad... absolutely awesome.
and EoR i dont think you have anything to worry bout, Mirranda Otta is an aussie its like she would do a shite job. before anyone points it out and makes me look stupid i know they say David Wenham is an aussie but i refuse to acknowledge it, he is destined to do a shite job...

Probably Eowyn or Arwen. :) I can already ride horses, and I would *love* to be a hobbit, but i think it would be weird seeing be that short! (considering I'm 5'7"!)

Renille
11-29-2002, 04:19 PM
Well, I WANT to chop my hair off and be Pippin! But I'd still look like a girl. So...as I'm too SHORT for anything else, I could be Rosie!

First thing I would do is to see if the actress playing Eowyn (sorry, forget the name at the moment) is doing anything after filming. Second thing would be to ask Liv. Third: Rosie Cotton. Fourth: Cate.

Finally, after being shot down four times in a row (maybe more, depending on how many extras I ask), the fifth thing I would do is apply to be some random extra, probably a hobbit. I've never had acting lessons and my voice is not good enough for a speaking part. Plus I'm sort of shy around cameras.

I would be Pippin even though I'm a girl! LOL!
You see I don't even have to act because I'm so much like him anyway!
I've already played him at a show in our school and because
he is my fav character I've memorised all the lines already! Lol!
(You can call me sad if you want!) Thats just typical of me! ;)
I don't look much different to him either! (Apart from the hair but an
expensive wig will do the trick or I could even get it done at
a hairdressors!! Even though I would look a bit strange!):D :D

I'd be Legolas, and if he'd cut my lines short (as PJ did with Legolas) let's see if he...likes...his hair cut short:D
j/k ;)
or i'd sing the songs for the soundtrack! (no, i won't break the mic! )

Glorfindel, thanks.

Depends on how accurate this hypothetical movie is to the book!

Let's suppose for a moment that the impossible has happened and it's going to be true to the LotR books, almost to the word. In that case I'd want to be Eowyn, great character there.

However, if they had Arwen effectively take over Glorfindel's role (as happened in the real movie) then I might possibly want to be her.

Sylvee Estel

Well, since I'm a girl, I'd probably have to be Arwen, Galadriel, or Eowyn, and since Eowyn is the coolest by far, I'd be her.

TinuvielChild
12-02-2002, 01:47 AM
Eowyn or Galadriel, unless I could be a guy, in which case I'd definitely want to be Grima Wormtongue. Who wouldn't want to be the evil, mind-poisoning, slimy git responsible for half the bad stuff, plus the death of Saruman? :D  ;)

Don't read if you haven't watched the movie!

Since I am a girl, I would definetly be Eowyn. I was her for Haloween. (I got yelled at for asking to take my sword to school) I think I am a lot like her, except for the whole neice to the king thing. I think Eowyn should get Aragorn. I really like that look Aragorn goves Eowyn just as he is riding off to fight the wards and fall of the cliff.
If I could be a male charecter I would most likely want to be Aragorn. Though I really don't like violence and had to cover my eyes at some parts of TTT the movie! I might also be gollum/smeagol. It might be fun to be a schitsophrenic. (sp? pronounced skit-zo-fren-ik, just incase my spelling is way off!) Though I have a terrible fear of spiders and would probobly die of fear if I ever came face to face with Shelob!

My choices are limited, so Eowyn!!!! cuz she kicks ass!!!

Arathorn
12-22-2002, 11:03 PM
After seeing TTT, I want to be a Wraith. I like to fly over everyone and they'd all be scurrying around. :D

Then on ROTK, I'd go along with my buddy the Morgul King to fight Dernhelm so that Merry won't be able to sneak up on him and it would ruin it for everyone who read the books. Just kidding. :p

on second thoughts i think i would play a few people... Gil-galad of course... eowyn (i know shes a girl an im a fella but it might work) just so i could get close to Faramir and kill him for trying to upstage Boromir by being the goody goody and letting frodo go... be aragorn to get the girl WOOOOO!!!!.

Blackboar

I would want to Gollum!!! I can do the voice really well and I look good in white;)

eowyngirl14

Blackbore, foegive my inocence, but what does looking good in white, have to do with wanting to play Gollum?

Faramir Took
12-23-2002, 11:43 AM
I would like to be pippin, however I would like his role to be larger than it was in the film. I was disappointed with the scenes involving Merry and Pippin. I though they would play a larger role in this film, and it seemed to me that after they escaped from the orcs into fangorn, they were only shown a few minutes at a time, and always sitting atop treebeards shoulders.

I'd like to be...Bill the Pony! I don't know why, he's just cool.

Bill the Pony is cool!!! Does anyone remember what happens to him after they let him go at the Gates of Moria?

I think he either:

a) goes back to Rivendell to live
b) goes back to Bree
c) is ambushed by wargs and is killed

I always thought about that. I would love to be a hobbit (Frodo or Pippin) eventhough I'm a girl. I'm not tall enough to play Arwen, maybe Eowyn... but if I had my way, they'd do a version with the fellowship being 9 females not 9 males :-)
~please don't kill me for saying that!~

eowyngirl14
12-29-2002, 01:26 PM
I agree with you completly,Shadowfax123! I would be Aragorn(A female version), even though I hate violence. or maybe Pippin, I am always doing stupid things... I think the female fellowship should use cunning and mind power (mind over matter) instead of violence to get away from evil. LIke in the Hobbit, when Bilbo is captured by the trolls, and Gandalf tricks them into argueing so that they will be turned into stone when the light comes.

I would either play Frodo even though I am a girl, No one gives girls credit. Or I would write my own script have EJW be Frodo and be his (made up for this Stephen S. movie) girl friend.

Erawyn

I wouldn't mind being Legolas (I mean he already looks um a bit girly, so it wouldn't be tooo much of a stretch). Mostly because I want to learn archery!

My hair on a good day looks exactly like Aragorn's. No need for a wig. I'd be perfect. On a bad day, however, I look like a punk rocker from the '70s. This is disturbing for a number of reasons, not least of which is the fact that I am a girl. But seriously, ever since I read the books... that would be about six years ago now... I've been having sporadic dreams in which I am some member of the fellowship (usually Aragorn), slaying armies of orcs and Balrogs. Maybe dreams are prophetic.
No, I take back any wishes for prophetic dreams. Last month I had a dream I was acting in "The Jungal Book," and my little sister was cast as the lead and I got to play Angry Herd Animal #6.
Moving on...
I'd also settle for playing Eowyn. She's awesome.
Actually, since seeing FotR, I might settle on any one of the Nazgul. Those costumes are magnificent. I've always vaguely wanted to go galloping around the countryside in a billowing silk ensemble sowing seeds of terror and destruction.

Well, taking into consideration that the parts of Eowyn and Arwen are WELL spoken for.....and the part of Galadriel wouldn't be too bad....I'd have to say that I'd want to be a Wraith. Not only would you get to play around on horseback in the first movie, those costumes were completely amazing. Finding your way out of them might be difficult considering how much material was invoved in making them, but hey....who am I to worry about that? That's what the costume department is for.....=-)

Pass the tankards 'round! Gimli is the clear choice, at least if your not one of those flower power Elf lovers. Dwarves are the true creme-de-la'creme of any fantasy world (even those that don't do them justice). Gimli! I'd stake my beard on it!

Even though im a girl (commen start :p ) Id love to be Boromir! I think hes a great character, or maybe Goldberry....but in reality...id be cast as drinking hobbit girl #4.

Well, aside from the 'sowing seeds of terror and destruction' part, that sounds awsome! I have been thinking about it and I really want to be Eowyn. She is such a strong female charecter! I want to be just like her! Except I'd get Aragorn! Well accualy Faramir is really cute. I love his eyes. *sighs...* *bangs head on computer* But, Aragorn is still my favorite!:D

Don't you think it would be kindof creepy to be Gollum? I mean you would live through soooo much pain and torment.... You would kill your best friend, Deagol! I would not want to be Smeagol, although that fish he eats in the scene where he is in the forbidden pool, did look kindof yummy!:)
