View Full Version : Bacon or Potatoes?

Do you like bacon or potatoes better? I like potatoes better than bacon. Because bacon is all fatty and gross in my opinion.
Elven Archer
11-24-2002, 03:17 PM
Hmmm....... if it's just bacon and not the pig then i like potatoes better. cause they come in tots, hashed, mashed, baked, frenched, soup, wedges, salad, and that's all i can think of right now. but bacon has all that fat on it and it's all greasy. of course if you deep fry potatoes then they're even more unhealthy than before. I like potatoes better.

Bacon for breakfast, potatoes for everything else.

potatoes!!! yummy!!! I like them mashed, fried especially, and raw. Raw potatoes are good actually. I won't eat bacon because i am a vegetarian. Or am I a vegetarian because i don't eat bacon (and other meat)? In any case, I vote for potatoes.
Ma Uai: Ua Nemti

Awww, (?) *I beg you not to ask*
What is it that is so appealing (forgive the pun) about potatos anyway?
Ma Uai: Ua Nemti
11-25-2002, 11:21 PM
Appealing! a-pealing! Ha! It's funny!
But seriously, potatoes are so bland that they make the perfect platform for other delicious things like butter and salt or sour cream and cheese.
Aeryn
11-25-2002, 11:31 PM
They are bland that's why I dont like um. I only like baked tato's with sour cream and cheese and green onion shaving to make it purdy. :D

Potatoes: sure, if they're mashed with out their skins, and then with a lot of salt and pepper and butter.

i like the blandness of potatoes. i like plain potatoes (actually i prefer them without butter) and plain bread, etc. potatoes are also a good thing with corn.

Potatos are easier to cook, Bacon always sizzles to much, but I like bacon more.

Bacon is delicious. I could eat fifty pounds of it. (I don't, but I could.) I don't mind mashed potatoes, but I really dislike baked potatoes. They're just nasty!

From "Song of the South" by Alabama:Song, Song of the South, sweet potato pie and I shut my mouth... Personally, I prefer potatoes to bacon because of the variety of ways you can eat potatoes. Mashed, french fries, potato chips, scalloped, etc.

I like that song! but i think sweet potato pie tastes more like pumkin pie.

How about bacon bits on a baked potato? Best of both worlds.
Aeryn

Bacon bits are gross. They are freeze dried chemical made crap! I like it natural, real bacon on Baked potatoes.
Ma Uai: Ua Nemti

That is what I was going for actually. I agree, bacon bits are crap, but bits of real bacon is what I meant.

Oh, I dunno... it seems to me that they do a pretty good job simulating the grease-salt mixture into a dry container... it's probably even healthier.
And I find it funny... you say they're gross, implying that you've eaten them, and you go on to call them crap... you can guess what comment may follow... teehee :p .
But all this is like saying "peanut butter or jelly?" They're complimentary, in my book. They go hand-in-hand, they're two birds of a feather, and you can't spell potatoes without "toes".

I don't always think of them as complimentary to eachother, they can be good alone.

I like both potatoes and bacon. Bacon is simply THE breakfast meat, and I like potatoes mashed, raw, etc. (baked are ok, but not my favorite), and let's not forget french fries! :D But I probably would say that I like bacon better, except for french fries. They pretty well make it an even match.

I totally agree with thee, except that my breakfast meat is saucisses. :p
Gwaimir Windgem
12-15-2002, 01:59 PM
Sausages are okay, but no match for the all-tasty bacon in my opinion.
Mmm, how long has it been since I've had a good, traditional breakfast? Or actually, any breakfast?
Elven Archer
12-15-2002, 02:16 PM
isn't sausage made of pig? and bacon's made of pig.
last time i had a traditional breakfast was a couple months ago, bacon, eggs, biscuits, gravy, grits, sausage, and orange juice.

Primates are far more intelligent than pigs, several gorillas and chimps can communicate using sign language so you'd think that they're more brainy

Oh btw - just to add to the numerous "and your point is...' posts by moi - if memory serves (and it usually does) Ireland was the only country ever to experience a potato famine (I think it was 1844 - 1849)

I hate potato salad, best way to have 'em is in a potato bake
(cut them in slices after boiling them with skins on, then bake in greased ovenproof dish topped with mushrooms, fried onion, garlic, green pepper (or bell peppers to you), some chilli, bacon and cheese, then pour a little cream over & bake for about 15 minutes at 180ºC) talk about carbo load - very yummie when you have the munchies ;)

There's nothing inherently wrong with potato salad, I just don't like it much. Hate mashed potatoes - that's just plain gross, sorta like lumpy baby food blech, I learned to chew a long time ago thank you very much. (and I really mean hate it, with a passion that burns like the fire of 10 000 volcanoes)
Oh btw - if yer gonna make the dish you have to chop the onions, mushrooms, peppers & bacon into small bits & fry them together (that's why it only takes 15 mins, everything is already cooked just needs to be heated & the cheese melted)
