I've reat The Hobbit, et. al., more times than I care to remember but have a question for anyone whose more detailed than I (there are a few :) ).
"In the ground there lived a Hobbit". The description seems to be that of a rather large home. Has anyone ever figured out; using average Hobbit size, etc.; how large Bilbo's home was. Seems to me someone must have enough time on their hands.

Spock: In my immagineation, Bag End is only about 30-40 feet long with 4 rooms on each side. Each room was about 10x10 feet. and there was a small crawl space attic. But that is only immagination.

BTW, i am in the flight to the ford chapter (i think) and i am like 8 pages away from the second book! (2nd part of the fellowship, they are split up into 6 books...). I took a long harry potter brake (well, if you call 3 or 4 days a break.., and i also didn't read it on my vacation) But i am now reading it again! I can't wait til morning to read some more. They just found an elf beryl or something on the brige (sp?) I'll use the Strider icon because i am past that chapter already :p I'm not reading it that slowly am i? I started about 3 or 4 weeks ago and i take long brakes so it evens out :p :)

Don't worry about how fast you are taking to read it HOBBIT, just take your time and enjoy it. :) That is what reading is for anyway, for enjoyment....not to see how fast you can read a book.
