Anyone have any out of the ordinary hobbies? I say (type?) this as I look up from writing a passage from Mary Stewart's Arthur series on a pair of jeans. One of my weirder hobbies is what I alternately call 'mutilating' or 'editing' my clothes. Make of that what you will.

My hobby is mocking stupid people like you. Now why don't you...
Not really. Ok, yes, really. but not completely. Oh, nevermind.

I did that in 1971! With (are you ready?) poems from The Hobbit and LotR! Some things never change I guess. :D I stiched the Far over the misty mountains old poem around the bottom and sleeves of a shirt, and embroidered Three rings for the elven kings poem on my "elephant bells" (huge bell bottom jeans) I haven't done it since though! :)

Hey that sounds really fun. I am too impatient to embroider much though. I can't say I've written on my pants (much) but I write on my shoes a lot. Right now they say "resist authority" and some other things, plus their names, Shadowfax and Arod. Ok now I am a really screwed up person so I know I have a ton of weird hobbies but I can't think of any right now.

My daughter writes on her expensive tennis shoes, and it makes me mad! :( (I pay for them!) The embroidery looks good! (unlike ballpoint pen on shoes! :) ) I did very small letters around the hems. I'm not a big time seamtress, I just made the letters using straight stiches, which made the round letters like "G" and "O" look like runes! Fun!

That's cool. I don't think I have any "unusual" hobbies, though. Well none that I can think of right now anyways.

I think one a lot of us share is hitting our heads with 2x2s. I have the hobby of collecting empty cds and selling them as mirrors.

Me, too! But when we moved, we left our old one behind. It may have tried to kill me on occasion, but I miss it :( .
I can still pull off a 180º backflip, nonetheless.

My unusual hobby? Scaring people. My next plan is to take the cheap ring I got from a Frodo bookmark, put it on a chain, then go up to strangers saying one of two things at "Two Towers"
1:"Will YOU take the Ring to Mordor?"
or 2: "Look, I'm invisible, I'm not. I'm invisible, I'm not!"(While taking ring on and off finger)
*grins while hitting head with 2x2.*
My other 'unusual' hobby, though I don't think it so, is spenind all my time working on me fanfic, or my characters.

I write fan fiction. To be more precise, one long multi-chaptered continuing fanfic. Scary.
I also play mallet percussion: bells, chimes, marimba, xylophone, etc.
I've never written on my clothes, but sometimes when I'm bored I write on my hand. Does that count as a hobby?
To top it off, I've also been idly creating my own mythology and corresponding universe for no specific reason. Not that I've put a lot of effort into it, but it exists nonetheless. While I probably got the whole universe-creating idea from Tolkien, I haven't ripped him off too severely. No elves or dwarves... instead I've got a few different levels of gods (from the caretaker "Renri" to God Herself), some fun disembodied spirits, and the Sinke, these freaky pale-skinned things with no irises or pupils. Yes, I have a bizarre imagination.
Mallet percussion? Now that's scary...

And if that's not disturbing enough... I write poetry. FOR FUN.

My hobbies include proveing people that think you need a degree and to be good at spelling that you can be successful, stealing stuff from pub, going to the pub, cooking and experimenting new things in the bedroom :D

And when I have a notable part that actually involves my band teacher talking to me, the entire wind section automatically turns around and stares at me as if to say, oh my god, I can't believe you actually play that thing. Whether this is a good or bad thing, I have not yet decided.
I also play crash cymbals in marching band.
Amusingly enough, my "real" instrument is piano. But I started playing mallets as well as piano in middle school band, and the rest is history....
I do quite a lot o sports like judo and I also play instruments like electric and cass guitar. But I don't have any unusual hobbis.

I collect gemstones. I do karate. I scare people at my school by introducing myself as "Luhtarian, eniel Losse ar Kanyar" and writing my homework down in Elvish script. I incessently sing Elvish songs until everyone screams at me in unison. I spend all my time on Entmoot.
