Anyone hear any more about this? Apparently floods ruined some sets and caused delays in filming.

Maybe Celeborn could find out since he lives down there. It could be in the papers or something.

Yeah, supposedly when Gandalf's staff was shipped there some idiot prop guy was playing wiht it and called down nature's rath. That's what happens when you bring back folks like Gandalf to film a movie. :)

Me too!! :) But it is a long way away....just imagine where your life will be by then.....Will you take a date to the opening? Will you even have the same friends? Will you drive yourself, or will someone else drive you? How much will movies cost in a couple of years? Will the picture/sound quality be any different, compared to now? Will you see it in the state you live now? Man, how long is it until then? I WANT TO SEE IT NOW!!!

Actually I didn't make that up, it's what the press release said. :)

What I said about it being doomed to greatness has to do with the circumstances under which both Star Wars ANH and TPM were filmed. In 76 in Tunisia (Tatooine), in had "Never rained in 50 years", yet Lucas & crew got deluged by a monsoon. 97 in Tunisia was no better - a tropical storm sent costumes, props, sets, etc flying and lodged in water-logged sand. Some of Amidala's dresses + other costumes you see in the movie were caked in sand. BUT they kept going, and he just started filming what little pieces he could. The moral is: Disaster is good for film crews, because it puts them into a survival mode of ethereal get-it-done shinkengata (http://qui-gonlist.home.att.net/ninja.htm) mode.

yes......actually there was a flood on the set. There was a huge rainstorm, and all the actors (and actressess) had to go inside. But, this is kinda funny; they all ended up getting drunk while sitting on washes getting their make-up off (mostly just the members of the fellowship) and Elijah fell off with his legs in the air between the washer and a space in the wall while they were telling stories....or so my source says (Always and Forever Elijah Wood.):D

Yes, I heard about the Elijah and washer incident. Dominic mentioned it in an interview. They got really drunk because there was nothing to do and starting telling stories. Elijah was just finishing something with a really bad punch line when he fell off the washer. :D Such a funny mental picture.
