Hey, I guess we have quite a few good singers here on the moot. We should do an album. We could do "In Dreams" and "May It Be" as well as our mangle songs from the "I Made A Song!!!!!!!!!!" thread and perhaps a few miscellaneous (eg. Les Miserables). hehehe...

galadriel88
10-10-2002, 02:44 PM
Oooh, count me in! I'd love to sing something, especially "May it Be" , or really anything!

Sinc someone took May it Be I guess I´ll do In Dreams, or I could do China Roses or Twelve days of christmas...MY style. But count me in.
Cheers,
Sam

galadriel88
10-10-2002, 06:39 PM
Oh, by all means, samwise, do May it Be! Don't feel like I claimed it, nothing is definite here. :)

Renille
10-10-2002, 10:03 PM
Well, if SAM gets "May it Be," then I get "In Dreams." :p Or ANYTHING from the musical "The Secret Garden." OR anything at all!:D

Man, I just wanna sing something! Really, this would be fun, they could sell the CD's at the Tolkien Trail store! We could call it Mellon: The Entmoot Album.

Lizra
10-10-2002, 11:29 PM
I'll review it! :)

Ms. Undomial
10-10-2002, 11:39 PM
Ok now all this sounds like a great Idea but, How are we going to make a CD?? all of us are in different parts of the world!! it isn't like we can all get together some friday night and sing! (though that would be fun! :) )

I don't know how you'll do it but if you ever succeed I'll buy one or maybe although I'm a horrible singer maybe I'll do it. Maybe you could all record them load them onto the computer some how and then put them altogether and burn it.

galadriel88
10-11-2002, 01:24 AM
There is a way...if everybody had a mic for their computer, they could record their song on the computer, convert it to an mp3 file and send it to someone to download. Then the designated person could convert all the mp3 files to wav files and burn them onto a CD. Or better yet, instead of sending the mp3 files to someone we could all join mp3.com as artists and there the designated person could download the mp3s. Or, for those who are unsure of how to work the whole thing, you could also burn a CD yourself of just you and snail-mail it to the designated person...that is, if the person trusts their address to folks! ;)

10-11-2002, 11:36 AM
WHOA! I was just doing some wishful thinking but I never thpought everyone could actually do it or even think about it.
How 'bout those "Mangled songs" the good ones mind you.

One problem, What about copyrights?

Garina
10-11-2002, 12:43 PM
Sounds great!!!!!! I'd love to do some of the Lord of the Rhymes!

Be warned, I sound really bad through a mike!

Laurelyn
10-11-2002, 02:58 PM
If we write our own, there won't be copyright issues, right?
But then, of course, there's the ones we're not planning on writing. Hmm . . . :confused:

I'll sing basically anything - I've written the occasional song (not that my creations are any good, but . . .) and I'd sing anything you guys wanted me too. I've been writing poetry in Quenya and I guess it wouldn't take much to add music.
I do have a mike for my computer, but the resulting recordings I've made with it sound like a really fuzzy radio station broadcast.

Radagast The Brown
10-11-2002, 04:54 PM
amm... you really gonna do that? anyway I don't live in US (or uk) so I won't be able to sing anyway. :( but if you will send me a disk I could hear it!! :D

osszie
10-11-2002, 05:15 PM
who's gonna play the music then?:D

Can just see it now (insert name) and the 'mooters in pink neon above the stadium gates:D

Laurelyn
10-11-2002, 06:45 PM
Yep, osszie, I can see it too. I've been seeing my name on an album in my dreams for ages, anyways. Even if it's just in the credits for harmonies. :)

ArwenEvenstar
10-11-2002, 09:34 PM
i'll sing somthing from LOTR;)

Arathorn
10-11-2002, 10:34 PM
I'd like to help in any way; but what can I do?

Laurelyn
10-12-2002, 09:27 AM
How cool is this anyways?
Thank you so much, Finrod Felagund, for starting this thread!
And Radagast The Brown -- I don't think you'd need to be in the US to do this, just so long as you have a microphone and an email that can send really big attachments. I'm not quite sure how I'm going to get around Hotmail's attachment size limit, myself, but I'll figure something out.
Wait . . . if we're really going to do this, we probably need some sort of organization before we stand a chance of getting off the ground. Any ideas?

Radagast The Brown
10-12-2002, 04:02 PM
I don't have microphone, but I think one of my friendsd have. :) and I hope my email would be generous. I don't remeber what is its maximum size. but I tried to send video file, and it was too big.

We have to get start somewhere... to who we're going to send the music files?

galadriel88
10-12-2002, 11:09 PM
Not me, because I've had some trouble burning mp3's onto CDs - it doesn't want to convert them to wav files, it seems. But anyhoo, I think the first thing to decide is who's gonna sing what? I think that if some of oyu have songs that you have written yourselves, you should sing those. I'm terrible at writing songs myself, so I'll just sing something already written, thank you. :)
Let's do this - anybody who wants to definitely sing on this album needs to say so in this thread by, oh lets say Wednesday. Thursday morning i'll check back here and post a final list. So far we have: myself, Sween?, samwise of the shire, Renille, Ms Undomial, Elenka, Garina, Laurelyn, Radagast the Brown, ArwenEvenstar, Duddun?, and osszie?. Arathorn, like to burn CD's? :) If so, you could help out there, or you're also welcome to sing. And Finrod Fegalund, would oyu also like to sing? Wasn't real sure on that. All of you with question marks in your names, I need you to confirm that you are going to sing, for sure. Oh and about copyrights - as long as we give credit where credit is due, we should be fine. Hows this for organized, Laurelyn? :)

Where is he?

galadriel88

Good question, haven't seen him in a while. He might do this, you know!

Laurelyn
10-13-2002, 12:10 PM
I'll burn CDs if Arathorn won't, I have a CD burner. Yes, I'm in, Galadriel, thanks.
Very organized, by the way. :D
I'm assuming that once we get our final list of singers we'll start working on songs and who-sings-what?

Arathorn
10-13-2002, 12:38 PM
I have a burner too. I only ask for an on-line repository of the recorded mp3 files so I can download from the office. I can bring my burner there.

Blank CD-Rs here can go as low as less than 15 US cents a piece.

galadriel88
10-13-2002, 02:33 PM
:eek: Wow, that's cheap! I guess you can do it then... About having the mp3's online, if you go to mp3.com you can join as an artist and submit mp3's that folks can download, so I think that's prolly what everyone should do, I believe the process is rather simple but I'll go there myself and check it out. And yes, after we get the final list of singers, we'll decide who's singing what.

Laurelyn
10-13-2002, 03:13 PM
You can join mp3 as an artist? :D *scuttles off to check out mp3.com*

I'm afraid my singing skills leave something to be desired, including a range of octaves:o so I'll have to decline;) good look with the album tho:) ............. isn't anyone going to do a cover version of The Ballad of Bilbo Baggins?:D

IronParrot

Last January I actually did a recording session at a friend's house, improvised piano accompanying vocals - both by me. It turned out okay... my voice was a bit out of tune, and perhaps a bit drowned out by the fact that I had no separate mic for it.

Playing an instrument while singing along is much harder than it looks.

Anyway, I'm going to actually prepare some piano + vocal stuff before I take another run at recording. I arrange all my stuff... I hate playing off pre-arranged pop music full of crap chords and no room for flashy improv, so I just play off melody and chords. Well actualy, I love transcriptions of the masters, like Tatum and Brubeck and Evans and Peterson and such... but I can't reach a tenth comfortably, so that doesn't really work out. Grr.

Ms. Undomial
10-16-2002, 03:06 PM
Wow! everything is organized! is it ok if my 2 sisters join us once we are ready to record? they are very good. both of them are in their teens so their voice has matured somewhat. one can sing really high and the other can go pretty high and is very good at singing in a forign(sp) languge(sp) ( elvish for example). please let me know. this will be TONS of fun!

galadriel88
10-16-2002, 10:47 PM
That's fine by me, Ms. Undomial, they sound like very accomplished singers! IronParrot - I would LOVE to be able to play the piano that well! Please do something for this, I'd love to hear you on it!

Oh, and as a reminder to everyone, I will be checking here tomorrow morning around 6:30 CST (that's GMT -6 hours) and posting a final list of those who are planning on singing and/or playing an instrument. I also play trombone but I can't imagine playing anything for this....not much time to buy music and practice! But for those of you who play piano or any other instrument are welcome to do that instead of or as well as singing. This is so exciting, I can't wait!! :D

And here's a list of the possible songs I've thought of (so far): May it Be, In Dreams, anything that you guys have written, any songs in LOTR that we know the music to (like The Road Goes Ever On), and I think it'd be fine if we threw in some songs that we love but aren't necessarily Tolkien-related. (Quality music please - no Britney Spears, Metallica, or anything like that!!!!)

10-17-2002, 09:57 AM
wow! if it's not to much trouble, can i be added? i do sing solos in church alot. my moms friend is a piano composer. and i'm not bad at writing music, but i'm not good a writing words for the music :( . the one song i wrote was a second verse to that pretty poem BoP used to have in her sig a long time ago. and i don't think i know anybody with a mike... but i do have a nice tape recorder :) .

Also can I PLEASE try a male (bass) version of 'may it be'? I would really love to try and then we could have a girl and a guy version.

What ever you guys think though.

Also I'm not going to be able to get anything up till atleast late tommorow/day after because the recorder on my comp is messed up (noooooo not NOW God!!) and I need a mic to do it one the main one.

Also, how do you convert stuff to MP3? Do you need a special program thing?! I hope not. Do you just 'save as' and then type in MP3? We have a new computer but I don't see an MP3 option on it. I would most likly use the generic recording program that comes with windows. Can you not make MP3s out of those?

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! SOME ONE HIT ME!!!

Ok guys, slight problem with MP3. You have to be 18 to put anything up as an Artist.

SO I went looking around for a free web hosting and (ta da!) I found that Tripod (while maddningly slow to edit) alows you to put songs up.

So my thought is that we can all make little tripod sights and show our music off. Criteque (sp) it for each other maybe. And then get the finnished stuff up on MP3 by some one 18.

Anyone?

(This is the Tripod thing (http://www.tripod.lycos.com))

galadriel88
10-18-2002, 09:30 PM
Well I just checked it out and signed up and it's really easy, so I think that's what everyone should do. Thanks Tessar! Now, to convert files into mp3's...this will be a challenge...

IronParrot

Hmm... the only sample of mine I have on my computer right now is a not-very-good take on the Eagles I recorded ages ago... but I suppose I have nothing else to offer, so I'll put it up somewhere. The guy who used to host all my web content no longer has his web server up, so I'll need to find an alternate place... or just put it up on MP3.com (I'm of age... I can take care of that sort of thing)

Ooh, problem.

I just tried to upload my vocals sample, and it wouldn't let me, because my mp3 was encoded in mono, not stereo.

Hmm... I wonder what I'll do with mine now, since my CD-ripper isn't working...

Well... So much for my idea of trying to do my b-day pressy as a background for may it be.

The flute I orderd is here, a week late because they had to make it and now I find it's actualy two octaves higher than I wanted because I thought that D was lower than C. Oh well.

Can't even get a new one because I would have to admit and then my parents would feel bad.

Oh well :(.

IronParrot
10-19-2002, 10:39 PM
Hey Tessar, it's currently in WAV... I can convert it to MP3 for you, and that will cut the file size down significantly.

If you want to put up the 25MB file, do so... I can trim it. Unless Tripod doesn't let you. Then I'll find a program that you can use to convert it to MP3 yourself.

On another note, I managed to fix the thing with my own music, so it'll be up soon...

Tessar
10-19-2002, 10:44 PM
Tripod wont let me. It says that I only have 21 MB (now more like 10 mb) left.

I THINK I might be able to get it to MP3. But that was just a little sample. So whatdja think? I know that in a few places I went down when I was supposed to go up or vica-versa (sp?) and that I don't quite have the breath control to hold some of those notes long enough but still... How'd it sound?

TWO MB?!!? THAT'S INSANE!!!

Not that I'm upset or anything... :p

IronParrot
10-19-2002, 11:43 PM
Well, mp3.com takes a long time to put anything up, so it's probably best if you just put it up yourself for the time being... I'll give it a listen as soon as I can actually access your site.

Tessar
10-19-2002, 11:48 PM
Ok, well I'm working on editing the sight. I think I got it right but well just have too wait two hours to find out I guess :rolleyes: .

Lots of time to edit the sigh though, right? :D

IP why don't you make a tripod and let us hear your music? It's very easy and I would really love to hear you.

IronParrot
10-19-2002, 11:50 PM
Well, last time I made a Tripod site was years ago, and they spammed my (now-dead) e-mail account like crazy...

It's too bad my friend's server is down. But I can probably find some alternative...

Don't know how long it will take for mp3.com to put up my files, but if it's really long, I might have to succumb to Tripod indeed.

Good news is, though, I managed to get six songs performed by me loaded on my computer. :) Old recordings, though, and I'm much better now. No, really!

IronParrot
10-20-2002, 02:34 AM
Okay... I not-so-sneakily got around storage space restrictions (grr... I hate free hosting services) and put some samples up, on two separate sites (to hopefully thwart those bandwidth limits):

Piano + vocals (http://www.geocities.com/ironparrot)
Piano only (http://www.angelfire.com/wizard/ironparrot)

At either site, you'll find that I've put up a concept for an album cover. For the purpose of this sample, I've used galadriel88's idea, Mellon: The Entmoot Album.

I like that, IP! Both your music and your possible album cover- awesome!
Tessar, my computer tells me your file don't exist. :(

What do us technologically-challenged fools do about posting up vocal samples? As of right now do we even have to sing something Tolkien-related for samples, or could I get away with 'Goodnight, my someone' from The Music Man just to show you what I sound like?
I will, of course, work on Tolkien-related whatnot, but if I'm doing this by next Saturday . . . :confused:

Well, I think like glad said, it's no problem singing other types of songs so long as they are nice (i.e. No Back Street Boys or punk rap sort of things.).

I'll get you a step by step tutoral of how to get stuff up on the tripod sight. Comming soon.

Tessar
10-21-2002, 01:31 PM
1. Sing a song
2. Save it as a WAV file
3. Go to http://www.wav-to-mp3.com/ and download one of them.
4. Convert it to an MP3. That should take even a long song down to under 5 MB (or 5000 kega bites if that helps you with size. There are 1000 kb in one mb)
5. Go to http://www.tripod.lycos.com
6. There will be three pictures that are links. One says ‘In build’ and has a picture of a hard hat and a little monkey wrinch.
7. Click on that picture
8. There is a thing with an orange border and it says BUILDING TOOLS. Click on the link inside the border that is called ‘Site Builder’
9. Click on the ‘sign up’ button.
10. Select ‘free- free’
11. Unless you want more space (you don’t) then go to the bottem of the next button selection and click on ‘no extra disc space’ (note: for steps 10 and 11 you shouldn’t have to really do them I think it selects those for you auto. But check anyways)
12. Where it says ‘member name, this will be part of your url’ they mean this. If you type in Mymusicrocks, your url will look like ‘http://www.mymusicrocks.tripod.lycos.com’.
13. You don’t HAVE to fill in your street address or phone. Just zip code and the other stuff (note: if you don’t have your own email addy/don’t want to give it out. Then you can get a free hotmail accout. They don’t even ask for your real e-mail addy. A tutoral for doing that will be posted at the bottom of this).
14. After filling everything out, go to the bottom of the page and click ‘I agree’ (read the rules if you want. Always helpful…)
15. Click on ‘activate your account and start building’

Ok. I have to go now. To eat lunch. I’ll finish after lunch. Sorry about the spelling but were having pizza.

Tessar, great sample, by the way!

Now, if I had some sound editing equipment and software here, I could put an orchestral accompaniment underneath that...

1. Sing a song
2. Save it as a WAV file
3. Go to http://www.wav-to-mp3.com/ and download one of them.
4. Convert it to an MP3. That should take even a long song down to under 5 MB (or 5000 kega bites if that helps you with size. There are 1000 kb in one mb)
5. Go to http://www.tripod.lycos.com
6. There will be three pictures that are links. One says ‘In build’ and has a picture of a hard hat and a little monkey wrench.
7. Click on that picture
8. There is a thing with an orange border and it says BUILDING TOOLS. Click on the link inside the border that is called ‘Site Builder’
9. Click on the ‘sign up’ button.
10. Select ‘free- free’
11. Unless you want more space (you don’t) then go to the bottom of the next button selection and click on ‘no extra disc space’ (note: for steps 10 and 11 you shouldn’t have to really do them I think it selects those for you auto.
Then you can get a free hotmail account. They don’t even ask for your real e-mail addy. A tutorial for doing that will be posted at the bottom of this).
14. After filling everything out, go to the bottom of the page and click ‘I agree’ (read the rules if you want. Always helpful…)
15. Click on ‘activate your account and start building’
16. You may get some silly thing about Spam stopping. Just click on the one for continuing to where you were going.
17. WARNING THIS IS A SLOW EDITOR. BE PATENT.
18. Click on ‘choose a multi page template.’
19. Click on ‘make your mark: Personal Sights’
20. Click on the ‘choose’ link after ‘My Personal sight’
21. Choose a name (I didn’t notice that this affected anything that the viewer will see)
22. Under ‘choose pages for your sight’ take off the ‘favorite links’ and just leave the ‘contact me’ and ‘About me’ selected.
23. There is a little green bar at the bottom of your screen. On the right hand side you will see a yellow arrow with ‘continue’ written under it. Click on that.
24. For simplicity, right now just click on ‘use the suggested design’.
25. Ok. For simplicity, I’m not going to go into how to edit the writing. It’s fairly easy to see.
26. Look at the green bar again. Click on the little diamond thing that says ‘add web gem’.
27. Select the area you want to put the music link in. I’d say click on the ‘put it here’ button that’s right under the ‘welcome’ sign.
28. Click on the blue ‘multimedia’ link.
29. There are four selections. Click on the ‘add’ button in the ‘add sound to your sight’ box.
30. Right now, you have nothing uploaded. So click on the button with a globe on it that reads ‘add a sound file’
31. Then click on ‘browse’
32. Find the place where you stored the music file (PM me if you need help with that) and click on the song.
33. Take all of the spaces out of the name. So if the name is ‘May it be. MP3’. Change it to ‘Mayitbe.MP3’.
34. Ignore the ‘incase of duplicates it’s ok to overwrite.’ And click on ‘done’
35. Go grab some popcorn, this takes a little while. Check your PMs, brows the moot, watch the first five min of FOTR or read the first chapter of the book.
36. Keep reading…
37. Join ‘Dream Portal’ in the RPG forum
38. Ok, now that it’s done loading… It should take you to another page.
39. Select the song (if it isn’t already), and then for ‘play back mode’, select ‘manual start by text click’ and type in the songs name or something (i.e. ‘this is the song’ or ‘click to hear me (hi mom!)’.
40. Some where near the middle of the green bar and to the right a little, you will see something that says ‘publish to web’. Click on it.
41. Choose a name for the page (Although it won’t really matter from what I have seen).
42. Click on ‘publish now’
43. Polish off that popcorn and join ‘dream portal’.
44. Cut and past the Url to Entmoot and then give your self a pat on the back. Well done!!

Now, how to make a hotmail account.

Go to http://www.hotmail.com

In the white side of the page (right side) you will see a link that says ‘sign up’. Click on that.

Then fill everything out (for your last name you can just give a title like I did. Something like entmoot-spammer, or what ever. Or maybe I-love-Tessar.)

Then click on ‘I agree’ at the bottom of the page.

Click ‘continue’ (sorry, no green bar this time).

Then close the page. Nothing on there to interest you (except that you don’t have to worry about loosing your account from inactivity and that you only have five MB of space).

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Ok. That’s all folks. Pm me if you need anything.
Yeah... you might want to check your time a bit with a metronome set to silent mode, if you have one, because it's pretty hard to keep in tempo without any comping holding you up...
Tessar
10-21-2002, 05:23 PM
Ya, tempos a real killer for me on that song. I think we have one...
Oh yes, I think your piano playing is great!!! I wish I could play that well... Oh well, I play by ear because thats what part of piano I'm good at. I didn't enjoy the lessons very much.
I didn't get to hear your singing. Seems everyone wants too. :)
How do you adjust the settings on the sound recorder for Windows 98 not to cut you off at 60 seconds? And how do you kill that static? :confused:
Ok. First off. You need to download something else to use. I'll give you an addy later.
Thanks, Tessar . . . hopefully later is sooner. As in like by tomorrow if possible. Is it possible? I've got a deadline that - right now- is more important than Entmoot for Saturday, and I'm technologically clueless.
Ok, sorry about the wait.
http://downloads-zdnet.com.com/3000-2140-8972086.html?tag=lst-0-1
Will take you to a place you can download it. It's only for 15 days so I hope that will be enough.
Then. Once downloaded and you have your song. Go to the sound recorder for windows (the one with the 60 sec max) and open the file there. Then you can make it sound louded or softer by clicking 'effects' and choosing the stuff there.
Wow, you guys have made alot of progress! I'm sorry I haven't been here much, but I've been extremely busy and stressed out lately...and quite frankly I have more important things to take care of at the present than the Entmoot album!:( I have created a Tripod site but I have no sound files up so there's nothing to see. Right now my major setbacks are a lack of $$$$ to buy a mic and the fact that I have a Mac and therefore most of the downloads only work on Windows. *sighs* The only disadvantage to owning one of these babies.... But I'm gonna look around on the Apple website and I might get to make a trip into Mac Resource to ask the friendly folks there about how to convert wav files to mp3's with itunes, and how to record them.... I am so stressed, you have no idea!!!! We have the performance of Bye Bye Birdie for the entire student body THIS FRIDAY, plus homework, and this, and everything...aaaaaaah!!! It's too much.....:( :mad:
Hey Galadriel.
Don't worry about your lack of mooting - hey, Real Life always comes first. Dear Eru don't I know it . . .
Good luck on your performance.
The only good news in my life is that if all goes well for me I'll have a file to put up by Saturday. But the current likelihood of all going well is flat nothing. Eru, Why?? :D
Ah, don't mind me. Highly stressed out about impending doomsday . . .
Guys, if you need an extention on the songs you can have them. I'm not gona stand over you and scream 'WHY DIDN'T YOU PUT A SONG UP!?!?!?!?!?'. Really, I was just saying that because I know how easy it is to procrastinate if you don't have a deadline.
Glad, let me see if I can't find you something for your mac.
Well, my mom said that I can't make you a web sight because if your parents don't want you to have one then it would just be trying to find a loop hole.
BUT she did say that depending on what kind of a song it is that I might be allowed to put it up on my web sight.
So if you could PM me the lerics I will see if I can do it.
So that I can show them to my mom and she can decide if that is something she will let me put up for you. If you can't send me the words, me mom won't let me put up the file.
:) Just a minute.
Tessar
10-30-2002, 01:58 PM
Ok.... Lets see. I'm not always very clear I'm afraid.... Sorry.
I asked my mom if it would be ok for me to make you a web sight because your parents said you couldnt.
She said 'no. that would just be skating (sp) around the rules'.
I then asked her if I could put it on MY web sight. She said 'I don't know. It depends on what kind of song it is'.
Alot of stuff. But the general idea was that if it wasn't a very nice sounding song (i.e. Had sex related stuff or cussing sort) I couldn't put it up but that if the song was nice (had non of the above) I could put it on my web sight.
Clear?
Talk is cheap.
http://mr_delish.tripod.com/Boromir.mp3
A bit of a "grunge ballad", if you will.
Lyrics as follows:
As a faction of nine did the fellowship start
‘Til Gandalf was lost they were loth to part
Boromir had this thing
He wanted that Ring
Though he knew it was wrong in his heart
I'm open to collaberation and criticism, though keep in mind that this took me about thirty minutes. Besides the falter at the beginning and the volume at the word "start", I like. You like?
Tessar
11-13-2002, 05:14 PM
Uhh... Well I don't know about the others but I personaly think that might be a bit too... Punk...
The words me like though.
Tessar
*sigh* look, when I think 'nice music' I don't think electic. Prolly because untill I was 8 or so all we ever heard was a few of the oldys and classical (thanks to my dear sweet mum).
I think that the words are great. Really, I like them alot. I just think they would sound better with a slightly more... Old sound I guess.
11-14-2002, 12:44 PM
Oh, definitely... I agree... I just need to hone my skills in that area... be back soon with a flutey version...
I want to do a duet thing with the Ent/Entwife poem that Treebeard sings to Merry and Pippin... I'd need some one to do the entwife part and... well, I'm not sure how to actually do that, because they alternate...
Oh, and curse my error-riddled computer... it went blue at the sound of a flute.
Tessar
11-14-2002, 06:47 PM
Ya, with a flute it would sound nice. I just relistend to it to try to catch your voice and it got really clear on that last note. You have a nice voice from what I could catch.
*comforts about the comp* Don't comps stinck at times?
Lol, but when in doubt... SPEED IT UP! HAHAHAHA!
I was working on the entmoot hop just a little while ago and... well... HAHAHAHA! I have GOT to put that up for yalls. I sounded like a chipmunk!!!! Hehehe. Almost died laughing.
Well, this computer has seen better days... I'm surprised it holds up as well as it does...
I took out the file for that previous one. I don't like it much anymore, but it was good practice. I might just focus on comedic peices now because I'm no good at sounding serious.
"The Entmoot Hop" sounds promising... and funny.
It's not much so far, but I'll be doing some more recording (and re-recording!):
http://mr_delish.tripod.com/mus.html
Lyrics as follows:
Protagonists endure
While antagonists deprave
I’ll emulate the former
In hopes I’ll never fade
Though darkness may surround me
Like heroes you’ve contrived
I’ll uphold my honor
As long as I’m alive
I read your classics, with thoughts to self-refine
Some others view it solely… as a profitable mine
Forgetting of the spirit that your works truly bear
I wish they’d reconsider, I wish that they would care
Thoughts? Suggestions? Is my voice coming through okay? TELL ME.
Oh, and our new computer is soooo sweet.
Nibs
12-05-2002, 02:55 AM
That portion comes from the middle of the song, obviously, but is a good example of the mood. By the way, the words are directed toward Tolkien himself (as though you couldn't figure that out on your own)... I really do enjoy the character he gave his characters.
I would appreciate any honest feedback... but not just praise, because I know it's not perfect.
