Well?

I assume you mean camping out for tickets....... yes, if necessary :)

I'm thinking about getting a job as an usher, that way I can watch it for free ;)

I don't think it'll be that bad. I didn't have to wait in line to see TPM and I got first-day tickets anyway :)

IronParrot

Actually, Tater... the ushers at the midnight show of TPM didn't get to watch it (at least, not where I live)... not even a preview screening.

Well, I guess it all depends where you are......

IronParrot
01-28-2000, 12:54 AM
And the connections you have. I think I'm going to befriend the local movie critics... or the newspaper people who run the advance screening draws...

Hehe.

Hm, I wonder just how nerdy we can get. Is anyone else planning to do something really . . . unique? I have to get ideas, you see.

Darth Tater

Ah, the art of seeing a movie early for free.

IronParrot
01-28-2000, 08:20 PM
A fine art, but difficult to execute.

Ok, this topic should be a place to plan and suggest the best ways to go about this. I want all of us to see this movie for free long before the general public!!!

I suppose it's amoral to kill and impersonate someone from the press... We could always go for test screenings, but I'd like to see the finished product for free long before the general public. With the full score intact, and all the FX completed. On the big screen, no less - I don't want some ****py VCD rip on the Internet.

The One Ring

I don't care about seeing it earlier than everyone else, but since my friend's a ticket-seller I can usually reserve tickets for the first day, which is what I did for TPM.

IronParrot

My dad was first in line for TPM where I live. It took a great deal of coercing on my part.

I'm just wondering if my movie passes will work for LOTR, cause I doubt it.

IronParrot

Nowadays, some new releases - especially the big ones - are clearly marked at the box office with "NO PASSES". So your chances with a pass are slim, if not non-existent.

Darth Tater
02-02-2000, 01:31 AM
I know, that's the problem

IronParrot
02-02-2000, 02:52 AM
Hey, if Fellowship is released during the Christmas holiday or something, why don't we all meet and line up together at some bigshot theatre? Add that to the fact that Countingdown said they wouldn't do a line for LOTR... now we just have to deal with TheOneRing.

Hell, I'm game :)

An intriguing idea! Hmmm.....

Maybe we should have an offical Entmoot sign-up sheet.... ;)

Elanor

Well, I don't know! Sounds neat, if it's not too far away. A big bash. :)

Darth Tater

Ok, but where? We've got at least two users in Boston, I think more, but others are very far from here, and some of us actually have things we have to do. Maybe one person with no life (of course we won't refer to them like that ;)) can line up and get the tickets for all of us! ;)

Well, if it comes out in the winter months, let`s make it someplace WARM!!!!! Standing in line for 2 days in the blistering cold is not my idea of fun! Of course, I suppose we could take shifts, but I opt for warmth. :-)

anduin
02-04-2000, 12:40 AM
Well, since the movie will be released in the summer, it will probably be warm where ever we go..... Unfortunately, Entmoot members are spread all over the world, with a high concentration of users in the northeast, not to mention, that is where Ben (our founding father :P) lives. If anything could be planned, it would have to be in Jersey.

Elanor
02-04-2000, 01:36 AM
O great father Ben, please do not make us stand in line outside in the NJ winter. I will not go! Anyway, I want to see it with my family. :P

anduin

It is coming out in the winter?!! Noooooooo!!!!! :P

Elanor

Well, I'm very confused about when it is actually. One site said "December 2001", another said "Summer 2001"--in the USA. December is summer in NZ, so they could have gotten confused, but ... hm. I'd rather have it in June/July of 2001! I want to see it soon.

Darth Tater
02-04-2000, 02:27 AM
I think it's summer. I go to Jersey on vacation a lot in the summer, so maybe...

IronParrot
02-04-2000, 02:58 AM
The worst possible time (for me) would be May or June (for any of the films). Best would be August, I think...

anduin

Maybe you should email New Line with your perferences :P

IronParrot
02-05-2000, 11:15 PM
Yes, I should. And if it works, then I'll try Lucasfilm too.

anduin

Hehe...good luck :P
